Abstract

Abstract

Various efforts to control dengue cases in Sikka Regency have been carried out, one of which was by issuing a Regent's Instruction in 2019 but cases increased by 1,816 cases from 620 cases in 2019. In 2020 another Regent's Instruction was issued so that dengue cases decreased to 183 cases. There are many risk factors for increasing dengue cases that have not been detected. One way is to look at the risk factors for dengue fever from a regional (spatial) perspective. Sikka Regency has experienced 4 outbreaks in the period 2010-2021. The study aims to analyze the factors that influence the incidence of DHF studied in the spatial analysis model. Type of research is analytic observational with an ecological study design. The data used in this study is secondary data. The results showed that there was an effect of population density in 2020 on the incidence of DHF, while population density in 2019 and 2021 had no effect. There are 6 sub-districts that become hotspot areas (High-High) in the influence of population density with DHF, namely Nelle, Kewapante, Kangae, Alok, East Alok and Lela Districts, while the coldspot (Low-High) areas are East Alok and Koting Districts. The altitude of the area has no effect on the incidence of DHF in 2019-2021. There are 2 hotspots, namely Nelle and Koting sub-districts, while the coldspot areas are in Kewapante, Alok Timur, Kangae and Lela sub-districts. There is no effect of temperature, humidity and rainfall in 2019, whereas in 2020 humidity has a positive effect and rainfall has a negative effect on the incidence of DHF and in 2021 there is a positive effect of air humidity on the incidence of DHF in Sikka Regency. Suggestions for dengue prevention programs need to be prioritized in hotspot and coldspot areas. There needs to be an alert for DHF in neighboring areas of DHF outbreaks. Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Gestational hypertension is a condition in which blood pressure in pregnant women increases up to 140/90 mmHg or more for the first time at the 20 weeks of gestation, without a history of hypertension before pregnancy and no proteinuria. This study aimed to analyze the risk factors for gestational hypertension in pregnant women during the second and third trimesters who lived in the coastal areas of East Flores Regency.Method: Case-control studies were used in this study. Total the case group in this study was 16 mothers, while the control group was 16 mothers. Data were analyzed using a Chi-Square test. Results: The results of the analysis showed there are significant relationships between the age of mothers (p=0.000), parity (0.000), and the history of long-use of contraception (p=0.000 with the incidence of gestational hypertension in pregnant women in the second and third trimesters in the coastal area of East Flores Regency). The most dominant and significant variable causing gestational hypertension in pregnant women during the second and third trimesters was parity (OR=22.075; 95% CI: 0.712-684.613). However, the study also found there is no relationship of gestation hypertension with consumption of foods containing saturated fat, consumption of salty foods, fruit consumption and vegetables, coffee drinking habits, ANC visits, family support, and obesity.Recommendation: It is important for the health workers to increase mother’s knowledge and communities’ awareness about age at risk and parity at risk. Thus, health providers should carry out more routine monitoring and provide counseling about 4 important factors in planning pregnancy.

Abstract

The problem of stunting is still fundamental in Indonesia's human development. East Nusa Tenggara Province is an archipelago dryland area with the highest prevalence of stunted children under five in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the relationship of child characteristics with the prevalence of stunting. This type of research is an observational study with a cross-sectional design. This study used individual secondary data from the Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey in 2021 consisting of 7,835 children under five. The results of the spatial analysis showed that in the child's characteristic factor, there was a relationship between short birth length and low birth weight with stunting prevalence. It is hoped that there will be a special model of stunting control interventions that are integrated and of high quality through multisectoral cooperation in the dryland areas of the islands of East Nusa Tenggara Province.
