Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the questioning skills of Biology Education students based on different academic abilities and their correlation with metacognitive skills. This study employs a mixed methods design. The sample in the study consists of biology education students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram. The instruments used in this research include the Questioning Skills Instrument and an Achievement test to measure metacognitive skills. The data analysis used in this research includes descriptive and inferential statistical analysis (correlation and regression). The results of the qualitative analysis using descriptive statistics show that the questioning skills of students with low academic performance mostly remain at level C2 (comprehension questions), comprising 58% of the questions, and C1 (recall questions), comprising 38% of the questions. A small proportion were able to formulate questions at level C3 (application questions), comprising 15% of the questions, and only 1% were able to formulate questions at level C4 (analysis questions). For students with high academic performance, most of the questioning skills were at level C3 (application questions), comprising 36.67% of the questions, and C2 (comprehension questions), comprising 35.56% of the questions. Additionally, 18.89% of the questions reached level C4 (analysis questions), and 3.33% reached level C5 (evaluation questions). Only a small proportion formulated questions at level C1 (recall questions), comprising 1.11% of the questions. The analysis of the relationship between questioning skills and metacognitive skills indicates that there is a relationship between students' questioning skills and metacognitive skills when using the Reading Concept Mapping-Reciprocal Teaching (ReMap-RT) learning model, with a correlation coefficient of 0.868 (high). The direction of the relationship between questioning skills and metacognitive skills is positive. The coefficient of determination (r²) is 0.754, which explains that the variability in students' metacognitive skills is determined by 75.4% of the questioning skills. The significance value of this regression is also used to determine whether the regression equation can be used for prediction. If the significance value of the regression is less than the determined significance level, then the regression equation can be used for prediction. Based on the analysis results, the regression significance value is 0.00 < 0.05, so it can be concluded that the regression equation can also be used for prediction. The regression equation for the relationship between questioning skills and metacognitive skills of students using the Reading Concept Mapping-Reciprocal Teaching (ReMap-RT) learning model is Ŷ = 38.791 + 3.185X.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMP melalui pengembangan modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis model problem based learning (PBL) diintegerasikan dengan Ekowisata Sebau. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan model 4D. Model ini terdiri dari empat tahap pengembangan, yaitu Define, Design, Develop, and disseminate. Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IX SMPN 2 Wanasaba yang berjumlah 47 orang. Data kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik diperoleh dari hasil tes uraian yang diberikan pada awal (pre-test) dan akhir pembelajaran (post-test). Peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis dihitung berdasarkan nilai N-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai N-gain sebesar 74,61% berada pada kategori peningkatan hasil belajar yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis model Problem Based Learning (PBL) diintegerasikan dengan Ekowisata Sebau meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik secara signifikan.

Abstract

Kemampuan computational thinking merupakan keterampilan esensial bagi siswa dalam menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri berbantuan video animasi terhadap pengembangan kemampuan computational thinking siswa kelas X di SMAN 7 Mataram. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X yang terdiri dari 11 kelas. Penelitian ini melibatkan empat kelas sebagai sampel, yang terdiri dari dua kelas eksperimen dan dua kelas kontrol. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan mempertimbangkan kemampuan akademik siswa, kelas XC dan XE sebagai kelas eksperimen, sementara kelas XA dan XB sebagai kelas kontrol. Kemampuan computational thinking diukur dengan menggunakan soal essay. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan metode ANCOVA dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS 25 For Windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,00 (<0,05), yang berarti terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri berbantuan video animasi terhadap peningkatan kemampuan computational thinking siswa kelas X SMAN 7 Mataram. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri berbantuan video animasi berpengaruh secara signifikan dalam mengembangkan kemampuan computational thinking siswa kelas X di SMAN 7 Mataram. Hal ini dapat disebabkan karena model dan media pembelajaran berbasis penyelidikan dapat membantu siswa lebih aktif pada saat pembelajaran.

Abstract

Project Based Learning merupakan model рembelajaran yang dapat memberikan peluang bagi siswa untuk lebih memahami materi yang diajarkan dan meningkatkan partisipasi siswa dalam kegiatan kelas. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model project based learning berbantuan media animasi interaktif terhadap kemampuan computational thinking siswa SMA Negeri 8 Mataram. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasi eksperimental (eksperimen semu) dengan desain penelitian yaitu non equivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 8 Mataram yang terdiri dari 9 kelas dengan total siswa berjumlah 301. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling. Berdasarkan teknik pengambilan sampel tersebut diperoleh kelas XE5 dan XE7 sebagai kelas eksperimen serta kelas XE4 dan XE8 kelas kontrol. Kemampuan computational thinking diukur dengan menggunakan soal essay. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji prasyarat yang terdiri dari uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas kemudian dilakukan uji hipotesis statistik non parametrik yaitu menggunakan uji Man-Whitney dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS 25 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikasi uji hipotesis sebesar 0.00 atau < 0,05 sehingga menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan pada penerapan model project based learning berbantuan media animasi interaktif terhadap kemampuan computational thinking siswa SMAN 8 Mataram. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model Project Based Learning berbantuan media animasi interaktif telah terbukti dapat meningkatkan kemampuan computational thinking siswa sehingga model Project Based Learning disarankan dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Dragonflies are insect groups that play an essential role in ecosystem balance and are known as bioindicators of freshwater environmental quality. This study aimed to investigate and to calculate species diversity of dragonfly species in Lemor Botanical Garden, East Lombok. The research was conducted from October to December 2024 using an exploratory method with transect techniques and purposive random sampling at ten selected observation points representing different microhabitats. Species identification was carried out using odonata taxonomic references, and data were analyz ed using the Shannon-Wiener diversity index. The results showed there were 6 families and 21 species successfully identified. The diversity index of dragonfly species was 2.95, categorized as moderate, indicating that the area maintains relatively good environmental conditions that support various dragonfly species. These findings provide valuable baseline data for future biodiversity conservation and ecological studies in the region.

Abstract

Fruit flies (Bactrocera sp.) are important pests of horticultural crops because they can cause serious damage and reduce the selling value of the fruit. This study aims to determine the effect of lemongrass (Cymbopogon nardus) plant extract on the number of fruit fly catches and to determine the most effective concentration as a natural attractant. The study was conducted experimentally in a crystal guava plantation in Dasan Tapen Village, West Lombok, using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with five treatments of lemongrass extract concentrations (0% - 60%) and three replications. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and continued with the LSD test. The results showed that there were four species of fruit flies caught, namely Bactrocera dorsalis, B. carambolae, B. cucurbitae, and B. papayae, with a total of 671 individuals. The 60% concentration produced the highest number of catches (an average of 69), while the control without attractant did not produce any catches. Statistical analysis showed a significant effect between treatments (p < 0.05). It can be concluded that lemongrass ethanol extract has a significant effect on the number of fruit fly catches, and the highest concentration in this study (60%) is more effective than the concentration below it. The concentration of 60% has the highest capture compared to the concentration below it. The use of lemongrass as a natural attractant has the potential as an alternative to environmentally friendly pest control in an integrated agricultural system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of flash card learning media on the biology learning outcomes of class X students at MA Dakwah Islamiyah Putri Kediri, West Lombok. This type of research is experimental research. The population in this research is class X Science students at MA Dakwah Islamiyah Putri Kediri West Lombok, totaling 234 students. The research sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique and obtained class X IPA 2 as the experimental class which was treated with picture card media (Flash cards) and Student learning results show that the average score of experimental class students who were given flash card media treatment was higher compared to the control class who did not use learning media. The results of the hypothesis test also show the Sig value. smaller than 0.05, which means that the use of picture card learning media (Flash cards) has a real influence on the ranking of students' learning outcomes in class X Science MA Dakwah Islamiyah Putri Kediri West Lombok.

Abstract

Literasi merupakan salah satu keterampilan hidup yang penting untuk dikuasai oleh peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 7 Mataram. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sampel dipilih menggunakan metode simple random sampling dengan teknik undian. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan literasi sains pada materi ekosistem. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data didapatkan bahwa kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik di SMAN 7 Mataram pada kategori sedang sebanyak 46% dan kategori rendah sebanyak 54%. Salah satu penyebab rendahnya kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik adalah peserta didik tidak terbiasa mengerjakan soal yang berbasis literasi sains. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 7 Mataram secara keseluruhan dalam kategori masih perlu ditingkatkan.

Abstract

Abstract: The Biology Science Practicum has a role in improving the quality of science learning, especially Biology material, as well as improving science process skills and students' understanding of science concepts. The Biology Science Practicum requires the availability of plant and animal specimens as the main object of observation, but this is not widely available in the Science Laboratory of SMPN 20 Mataram, thus causing the Biology Science practicum not to be carried out properly. The purpose of this community service is to increase the understanding and skills of teachers to make specimens of preserved plants and animals. The method of implementing community service was to provide training for teachers to make specimens of preserved plants and animals which was conducted in September 2020. The training was guided by lecturers, education staff (laboratory assistants), and students. Questionnaires were given to training participants to evaluate the effectiveness of community service programs. The result of the training was that there were twenty teachers who came from science teachers and other subjects involved in training in making insectariums, herbariums, Mollusca shell preserves, and animal wet preserves, and participants responded that the training had increased the knowledge and skills of teachers in making plant specimens and animal. The conclusion is that the training carried out by providing samples of preserved specimens of living things, demonstrations and assistance in making preserved specimens have an impact on increasing participants' understanding and skills in making preserved specimens of plants and animals. Keywords: Dry and wet preservation of living things; Herbarium; insectarium; Biology practicum; Plant and animal specimens.

Abstract

Pengembangan literasi biologi dan minat wirausaha siswa sekolah di sekitar ekowisata Bagek Kembar diperlukan untuk menguatkan peluang mereka mengambil manfaat dari pengembangan kawasan ekowisata. Tujuan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat di SMAN 1 Sekotong adalah memberikan penyuluhan pada guru mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis proyek biopreneurship untuk meningkatkan literasi biologi dan minat wirausaha siswa. Pengabdian masyarakat di SMAN 1 Sekotong Lombok dilakukan dengan tahapan mulai dari persiapan, pra-pelaksanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Pelaksanaan pengabdian di sekolah mitra, dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan dan pendampingan guru mitra mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis proyek biopreneurship. Evaluasi pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan melalui pengamatan kegiatan guru selama pengabdian, wawancara dan pengisian angket untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang respons guru tentang manfaat pelatihan. Peserta pengabdian terdiri 30 Guru SMAN 1 Sekotong. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan 75% guru aktif dalam diskusi, bahan ajar biopreneurship yang diterapkan dalam kegiatan proyek dengan memanfaatkan tumbuhan dan hewan di sekitar Kawasan Ekowisata Bagek Kembar selaras dengan penerapan project konservasi mangrove, yang dilaksanakan oleh siswa pramuka dan siswa kelas alam SMAN 1 Sekotong. Saran dari peserta untuk kegiatan pengabdian selanjutnya adalah adanya program untuk meningkatkan numerasi dan literasi dengan memanfaatkan Ekowisata Bagek Kembar sebagai sumber belajar.
