Abstract

The deep learning approach is the latest innovation in the Indonesian education system proposed by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in early 2025. The essence of this approach is to create a learning process that is aware, meaningful, and joyful for students. The purpose of the study is to examine the implementation of deep learning from the way teachers plan, organize, implement, and evaluate deep learning in elementary schools. The research method uses a qualitative method with interview data collection techniques and observation of learning in the classroom. The respondent is an elementary school classroom teacher in the Mantrijeron Yogyakarta Ministry of Education who has implemented deep learning. Thematic data analysis with the help of atlas.ti application 9. The results of the research of elementary school teachers implementing deep learning are still very limited, starting from making a learning plan exactly the same as the example from the ministry, there are no new innovations, learning activities that are just following the directions of the curriculum reference book have not shown creativity independently of the teacher and in terms of organizing students, educators emphasize more on grouping students in learning. A tool to measure the success of deep learning can be done by means of project-based assessments, percentages and self-assessment.

Abstract

Purpose-Laboratories play a crucial role in supporting science learning in senior high schools by facilitating practical activities that enhance students’ scientific skills, critical thinking, and conceptual understanding. This study aims to describe the management of a biology laboratory at SMA Negeri 7 Bengkulu Utara and to identify challenges encountered in its implementation. Design/methods/approach-This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with biology teachers and the head of the biology laboratory. The data were analyzed based on management functions, including planning, organizing, implementation, supervision, and evaluation. Findings-The findings indicate that biology laboratory management has been implemented in accordance with basic management functions. However, its implementation has not been optimal. Planning and practical activities are constrained by limited laboratory equipment, materials, budget allocation, availability of laboratory personnel, and restricted instructional time. In addition, laboratory evaluation has not been conducted systematically or supported by standardized assessment instruments. Research implications/limitations-This study is limited to a single school context and relies solely on interview data, which may affect the generalizability of the findings. Nevertheless, the results provide practical insights for schools and education stakeholders to improve biology laboratory management, particularly in optimizing existing resources and strengthening systematic evaluation practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of organizational communication strategies in improving the quality of educational services in Vocational High Schools (SMK). The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies with school leaders, teachers, and education personnel. Data were then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results indicate that organizational communication strategies in vocational high schools are implemented through a combination of formal and informal two-way communication. This communication plays a crucial role in strengthening work coordination, enhancing teacher professionalism, streamlining educational services, and encouraging improvements in the quality of learning. However, the implementation of organizational communication strategies still faces obstacles such as differences in individual character, differing perceptions of policies, and the sudden delivery of online information that lacks direct explanation. Solutions implemented include leadership introspection, an adaptive communication approach, strengthening two-way discussion forums, and evaluating the effectiveness of the communication media used. This study concludes that an open, participatory, and well-managed organizational communication strategy is a key factor in improving the quality of educational services in vocational high schools.

Abstract

Abstract: Adaptive and innovative curriculum management plays a central role in optimizing learning quality in the digital era. This study aims to describe the implementation of digital literacy integration within curriculum management in Elementary Schools, as well as to identify its challenges. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this case study was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Condongcatur. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, consisting of the vice head of curriculum, digital literacy coordinator, and class teachers. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, then thematically analyzed. The research findings show that digital literacy integration is implemented comprehensively across every aspect of curriculum management: planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. This proactive implementation positively correlates with an increase in learning quality, characterized by students who are more literate in information, media, and technology, as well as more interactive learning. Nevertheless, the main challenges found are the need for continuous technology adaptation for teachers and infrastructure constraints. This study concludes that an adaptive curriculum management strategy for digital literacy is proven to be effective, but requires holistic support from human resources and facilities.
