Abstract

This research proposes a fuel system conversion from a carburetor to an electronic fuel injection (EFI), to save fossil fuels using gasoline-ethanol combined with water injection. Beneficial as an offer for Indonesian motorcycle environmental friendliness in terms of exhaust emissions. The goal of this study is to improve engine performance and accommodate technology for the deployment of ethanol gasoline implementations. The experiment was conducted using fuel with a ration octane number (RON) of 92, gasoline-ethanol was executed up to E25 then applied water injection (Wi). The results show that converting a conventional carburetor to EFI and additional water injection increases engine performance, mileage, and reduces exhaust emissions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the performance of the Savonius turbine on the inner blade position in order to improve turbine efficiency. The blades used are a simplification of the Savonius U/L and the Savonius 1:2 double blade model. This research begins by creating four blade models: a single-blade model, a double-blade model at the blade's tip, a double-blade model at the blade's base, a single-blade model, and a double-blade model along the blades against the wind. The four models are then fitted in the test system for generator performance. Next, the efficiency characteristics of the turbine will be tested against rotation. The test results of the four models were evaluated by comparing each model's efficiency. The results indicate that the Savonius double-blade 1:2 and Savonius U/L turbines achieve efficiencies of 2.42% and 2.1% at 5 m/s and 7 m/s, respectively. At speeds of 5 m/s and 7 m/s, the double-tip position inner blade model increased by 81% and 61%, respectively. The double-tip inner blade variant has the maximum efficiency at 9 m/s, at 3.71 percent. Therefore, the Savonius U/L type vertical axis wind turbine with a 1:2 double blade is the most suited blade model for usage at wind speeds less than 7 meters per second. While the Savonius model with innovations in the inner blade double tip position is suitable for operation at wind speeds greater than 9 meters per second, the Savonius model without such advances is not

Abstract

The use of hydrogen gas or H_2O gas to reduce the use of fuel oil is carried out in order to ensure that its availability does not become increasingly depleted. However, to get H_2 O gas, you have to go through the process of separating hydrogen molecules from oxygen through the electrolysis process. The method used is the method of designing and building a voltage stabilizer which will be tested at speeds of 30, 40, 50 and 60 km/hour. Data from voltage testing results at speeds of 30, 40, 50 and 60 km/hour and obtained an average voltage of 3.62 V. After using the stabilizer there was an increase with an average voltage result of 6.86 V, resulting in an increase in voltage of 3 .24 V after using the stabilizer. From the average obtained, the electrolysis process can run because the process requires a voltage of 5.8 V.

Abstract

The high increase in fuel prices has become a public complaint because the comparison between the fuel consumption of their vehicles and the price of fuel has decreased. The purpose of this research is to analyze the addition of an electric motor to fuel consumption on the object of research. This research was conducted using the experimental method. The object of research is a matic motorcycle. The research instrument is an odometer and measuring cup. Researchers conducted fuel consumption testing using the static method. The use of an electric motor on the rear wheel of an automatic motorcycle can reduce the volume of fuel so that fuel consumption increases from an average of 87.22 Km/L to an average of 103.52 Km/L. The research results obtained are the addition of an electric motor to the rear wheel of an automatic motorcycle can increase fuel consumption. This can overcome public complaints about rising fuel prices.

Abstract

The use of improper water injection fluid  causes an increase in vehicle exhaust emissions. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal fluid and combination of factor levels in reducing exhaust emissions of motorcycles that have implemented a water injection system. This research was conducted using the Taguchi method, which is classified as experimental research to obtain the optimum level of a factor obtained from experimental design. The factors and levels used are a mixture of biogasoline (E10,  E15, and E20), water injection fluid (wastewater AC, aquades, and air coolant), ignition degree (standard 6° BTDC, +2°, and +4°), and spark plugs (nickel, iridium, and platinum). The results showed that  the optimal water injection liquid  is AC wastewater with a combination of optimal factor levels A2 (E15), B1 (AC water waste), C2 (+2°), and D3 (platinum).
