Abstract

This is a qualitative research with a case study research design which aimed to find out the students’ difficulties in speaking at Non-English Speaking Class in Mathematics program study at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. The researchers selected three students who met the criteria as a research participant by using criterion sampling. In collecting the data, the researchers used an interview as instrument. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. The result showed that the students faced some difficulties in speaking, such as lack of vocabulary, inhibition, mother-tongue use, and lack of confidence. The findings of the study encouraged students to practice speaking English more until they developed a speaking habit, which made them able to improve their speaking skills and also expanded their vocabulary better.

Abstract

Masa remaja akhir adalah masa dimana masa penutupan terhadap proses perkembangan diri baik secara psikis maupun fisik yang dialami oleh para remaja akhir. Remaja akhir adalah masa dimana seorang remaja harus siap untuk menghadapi masa dewasa dimana kesiapan mental pun harus benar-benar disiapkan. Bukan hanya kesiapan mental saja tapi kesiapan fisik pun harus disiapkan oleh seorang remaja akhir. Perubahan-perubahan yang terjadi pada diri seorang remaja membuat berbagai macam dampak pada diri remaja tersebut, dimana bimbingan dan arahan dari orang tua sangat dibutuhkan oleh para remaja ini untuk kesiapan dan kematangan mereka dalam menghadapi atau memasuki dunia dewasa. Perkembangan-perkembangan yang dialami oleh para remaja akhir ini bukan hanya dalam hal perkembangan  fisik tetapi juga terhadap perkembangan psikis  mereka ,perkembangan yang mencakup dalam segala hal seperti tugas-tugas sebagai remaja akhir, perkembangan emosi, sosial, agama, intelektual, fisik bahkan moral mereka. Dimana keadaan ini akan banyak menimbulkan masalah dalam diri remaja akhir. Jika mereka tidak bisa menjalani fase perkembangan ini dengan baik maka akan bermasalah terhadap perkembangan mereka selanjutnya. Maka dalam penelitian ini penulis akan memaparkan dan menguraikan beberapa hal tentang perkembangan dan implikasinya pada pendidikan terhadap perkembangan remaja akhir ini, dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif library research (studi kepustakaan) dengan tujuan unutk mengetahui setiap perkembangan remaja akhir disegala aspek dan impikasinya terhadap pendidikan bagi remaja akhir tersebut.

Abstract

Melihat praktik pendidikan di negara Indonesia, konsep kontruktivistik ini belum sepenuhnya terwujud, padahal konsep tersebut telah tertuang di dalam kurikulum KTSP. Fakta lainnya tentang pendidikan di Indonesia adalah di tahun 2006, Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) mengungkapkan seberapa baik kesiapan seorang peserta didik yang berusia 15 tahun dalam menghadapi kehidupan, Indonesia menempati peringkat ke-50 dari 57 negara dalam bidang sains, membaca, dan matematika. Untuk itu penulis menganggap penting untuk membahas mengenai teori kontruktivistik dan mengimplikasinya dalam pembelajaran dan pendidikan di Indonesia. Teori konstruktivistik berbeda dengan teori belajar lainnya, implikasi teori konstruktivistik teori konstruktivistik dalam pembelajaran yaitu: peran siswa sebagai konsumen ide telah bergeser ke arah peran produser ide. Sementara itu, peran guru tergeser dari peran penghambat proses pembelajaran yang sering terjadi secara tidak sengaja menjadi peran fasilitator proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada intinya konsep kontruktivistik ini telah tertuang dalam kurikulum di Indonesia yaitu kurikulum KTSP, namun dalam praktiknya konsep tersebut belum diimplementasikan dengan baik. Untuk itu, perlu pembenahan dalam pendidikan di Indonesia dengan menggunakan pendekatan kontruktivistik ini agar peserta didik dapat mencapai potensinya secara maksimal dan pendidikan di Indonesia menjadi lebih maju dan berkualitas.

Abstract

Various educational problems in Indonesia can be studied by supervising education. Educational supervision is a process of assistance and support given to teachers in developing their abilities consisting of knowledge, skills, and creativity in teaching and commitment or motivation as a teacher. This study aims to examine and describe the source of authority for implementing educational supervision. This research is a literature study research. The results of this study state that in its implementation, the source of authority for the implementation of educational supervision in schools is carried out by the Principal or school supervisor, called a supervisor, who serves as a supervisor and controller of teacher performance. This supervision and control is carried out so that the teacher does not deviate from the role of teacher or educator. Based on the National Education System Law No. 20 of 2003, the principal or school supervisor supervises to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of learning. In this case, the principal or school supervisor is an illustration that a supervisor must have an official position that has authority or authority in supervising education.

Abstract

Seorang guru yang menunjukkan tingkat profesionalisme adalah mereka yang mampu merencanakan pembelajaran, mengajar, mengevaluasi pembelajaran, dan berkomitmen untuk terus meningkatkan kualifikasinya. Salah satu metode untuk meningkatkan kemampuan sumber daya manusia adalah melalui proses pembelajaran yang terjadi di lingkungan sekolah. Orientasi supervisi adalah konsep kunci dalam memahami cara pengawasan dan bimbingan dilakukan di berbagai konteks pendidikan dan organisasi. Studi ini mengeksplorasi peran dan implikasi orientasi pelaksanaan supervisi dalam meningkatkan efektivitas proses pengawasan dan perkembangan guru dalam suatu lingkungan kerja. Metode penelitian melibatkan tinjauan literatur mendalam serta analisis data dari berbagai sumber yang relevan. Hasil penelitian ini mengidentifikasi berbagai orientasi pelaksanaan supervisi, serta mendalami pengembangan orientasi atau orientasi yang diberikan kepada pelaksana supervisi. Penelitian ini memiliki relevansi yang signifikan dalam konteks saat ini di mana kebutuhan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas supervisi semakin mendesak. Dengan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang orientasi pelaksana supervisi, organisasi dapat mengoptimalkan penggunaan sumber daya mereka dan mencapai tujuan mereka secara lebih efisien.

Abstract

Motoric development in babies is very important; unfortunately, sometimes parents, as the closest family, do not provide enough stimulation to educate them. This study aims to analyze the infant's motoric development and its implications for Islamic education. Baby's motoric development consists of gross and fine motors; these two motors must develop normally according to their age. So the implications start with parental education, family roles, and the environment, which is very important for a baby's motoric development. This research uses library research with a qualitative approach, which comes from journals, articles, and books. The results of the analysis discuss that motor development is the most important thing for infants because infancy is a golden period that passes quickly and will not be repeated. In addition, this study explains the implications of infant motor development on the Islamic education concept, which affects mothers, families, and the environment, in addition to the urgency of infant motor stimulation.

Abstract

This study examines how multicultural values are implemented in the curriculum and activities at SMP IT in Palembang City, identifying the supporting and inhibiting factors. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection uses interview techniques, participant observation, documentation studies. Data analysis uses the process of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and verification or drawing conclusions. This research found that implementing multicultural values at SMP IT in Palembang City by implementing religious moderation as early as possible can be implemented in the school environment such as the values of tawassuth, tawazun, i'tidal, tasamuh, musawah, and shura. The implementation of multicultural values through religious activity programs at SMP IT in Palembang City needs to be evaluated with the aim of finding out to what extent the religious activity program can be according to plan and if necessary, revisions or innovations will be made so that the goals achieved are more effective.

Abstract

Supervision is carried out as an effort by people in authority in the world of education to supervise everything done by people related to the world of education, be it teachers, students, and so on. This paper aims to discuss the effectiveness of the implementation of supervision, with the method used is a literature review or literature study that contains theories relevant to the problems to be discussed, and the study describes the concepts and theories used based on the available literature, from books and articles that have been published in scientific journals. Supervision is carried out to find out what happens in an educational institution, such as if there is an inequality or problem in an educational institution, and the best way will be found to overcome the problem. This is an example of one of the importance of supervision. The effectiveness of the implementation of supervision will be carried out if it has gone through the planning stage, which, of course, has been mutually agreed upon by the people in charge in the world of education, so supervision is carried out in a directed and measurable manner by the agreed provisions to achieve the goals that have been expected together.

Abstract

Learning to speak English is not easy. This study aimed at finding out 1) the personality of students of English Education Study Program student teachers and 2) the speaking challenges faced by the introverted student teachers at an English Education Study Program. This study used a mixed-method design. For the quantitative data, the samples were 98 students chosen by using purposive sampling. Meanwhile, for the qualitative data, there were 5 participants, and homogeneous sampling was the sampling technique. The data were collected through questionnaires, observation, and interviews. The result of the study was that 14 students had introverted personalities, and 84 students had extroverted personalities. Furthermore, the speaking challenges faced by introverted students were language components, the psychology of students, and the learning environment. This study can give a positive contribution to the students, teachers, and future researchers.

Abstract

The current technological development has made online learning an alternative for teachers and students to carry out instruction. One of the learning applications that is often used is Google Meet. This research was conducted to find out the students' perceptions toward the use of Google Meet for speaking activities at a private Islamic Senior High School (Madrasah Aliyah) in Palembang, South Sumatera. The study employed a qualitative research design, and the participants were twelve 11th-grade students from the science and social studies departments. Data were collected through interviews, which were recorded and transcribed. The findings of this research revealed that learning speaking through the Google Meet application was perceived negatively by the students, indicating its ineffectiveness in facilitating their speaking activities. Several views were identified: (1) using Google Meet decreased student engagement in speaking activities, (2) it did not create an enthusiastic learning atmosphere for speaking, (3) it reduced students' attention to learning speaking, and (4) it was unhelpful in improving the students' speaking skills. These implied that the use of Google Meet application was ineffective for English speaking activities. However, it could be used as a supplementary online English teaching media.
