Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of combining fermented cow manure with broiler starter feed on BSF growth and reproduction. Cow manure was fermented for 7 days using EM4 and molasses, then mixed with broiler feed at ratios of T0 (100% manure), T1 (75:25), T2 (50:50), T3 (25:75), and T4 (100% feed). A Complete Random Design with three replicates was used in this study. Growth parameters (weight, length, and width of larvae) were observed on days 14, 21, and 28, while reproductive parameters included egg diameter, hatchability, and quality of early larvae. The results showed that an increase in feed proportion significantly improved larval growth (p < 0.05), with T4 providing the best results. The egg size did not differ significantly, but T4 had the highest hatchability (98.2%). Improved nutrient availability enhances females' energy reserves and promotes ovarian development. Fermentation also improves nutrient digestibility and the substrate's attractiveness for oviposition. The addition of broiler feed to fermented cow manure can improve the growth and reproductive performances of BSF, therefore, it could support a more productive and sustainable cultivation system.

Abstract

Learning mathematics at the junior high school level often faces challenges, particularly in students’ low understanding of basic integer operations such as addition and subtraction. These difficulties frequently result in misconceptions and low learning outcomes because the material is abstract and is often taught using conventional methods without adequate learning support. Therefore, it is urgent to implement learning strategies that can make abstract mathematical concepts more concrete and meaningful for students. This research aims to improve learning outcomes and students' understanding of concepts in the material of integer addition and subtraction operations through the use of props. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings that include the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 32 seventh-grade students of MTsN 1 Probolinggo. The research instruments included learning outcome tests (pretest and posttest), student activity observation sheets, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis to examine improvements in learning outcomes from the pre-cycle to cycle II. The results showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes after the application of teaching aids. The average pretest score in the pre-cycle was 45%, which increased to 82.5% in the posttest of cycle I and further increased to 92.2% in the posttest of cycle II. The percentage of classical learning completeness also improved, from 18.75% in the pre-cycle to 87.5% in cycle I and reached 100% in cycle II. These findings indicate that the use of teaching aids helps students understand the concepts of integer addition and subtraction more concretely, facilitates problem-solving, and enhances learning outcomes. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of teaching aids is effective in improving conceptual understanding and mathematics learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at MTsN 1 Probolinggo.

Abstract

Abstract

Hypercholesterolemia is influenced by excessive fat consumption. To lower blood cholesterol levels, both drug and non-drug therapy can be carried out. One plant that has the potential to lower cholesterol levels is the buni plant (Antidesma bunius (L.) Spreng.). This study aims to determine the effect of buni fruit juice and the most effective juice concentration in lowering total cholesterol levels in hypercholesterolemic male mice. This study used a completely randomized design consisting of 5 groups, each repeated 5 times. The experimental animals were given a High Fat Diet (MDTL) containing propylthiouracil (PTU) at a dose of 1.8 mg/200g BW suspended in 2% Pure Grain Alcohol (PGA) and 10 mL/KgBW of quail egg yolk. The treatments consisted of a negative control (standard feed); a positive control (MDTL and 0.52 mg simvastatin); P1 (MDTL and 1 ml of 20% buni fruit juice); P2 (MDTL and 1 ml of 25% berry juice); and P3 (MDTL and 1 ml of 30% berry juice). Treatments P1, P2, and P3 were administered MDTL for 14 days, followed by berry juice for another 14 days. The results were total blood cholesterol levels. Data were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA followed by Duncan's test at a confidence level of α = 5%. The results showed that administration of 30% berry juice reduced total cholesterol levels in male mice with hypercholesterolemia.

Abstract

Globalization impacts learning, yet modern education often overemphasizes cognitive intelligence, neglecting other dimensions and risking a generational moral crisis. This highlights the need for comprehensive intelligence frameworks. This study developed and validated a Quran-based prophetic intelligence instrument based on Abdul Aziem’s framework, comprising six dimensions: spiritual, emotional, intellectual, adversity, physical, and naturalistic intelligence. Data from 437 respondents (aged 20–60) were collected via purposive sampling. The development involved literature reviews, expert judgments (psychologists and Islamic scholars), and psychometric evaluation using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Results indicated composite reliability ranging from 0.71 to 0.86, with the higher-order construct showing excellent reliability (CR = 0.99). The model achieved acceptable fit (RMSEA = 0.081; TLI = 0.99; CFI = 0.99; SRMR = 0.03). Ultimately, 35 of the 52 initial items were retained. The findings confirm that the instrument is a valid and reliable measure of prophetic intelligence.
