Abstract

Teachers’ emotional intelligence has become an important part in students’ learning outcomes and experiences especially in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context. This study focuses on high school students’ perceptions of their teachers’ emotional intelligence and its impact on their speaking skills and classroom engagement.  This is a case study. Eight third-grade students in different senior high schools who have known of their teachers’ personalities during the educational process were interviewed.  The findings showed that teachers’ positive emotions can increase students’ self-confidence and motivate them to improve their English speaking skills.  Conversely, when teachers expressed impatience or anger in front of the classroom, it could decrease students' learning engagement, as they experienced stress and fear about making sounds in the classroom.  This study revealed that emotional intelligence is very important in creating a positive learning environment, making English classes much more effective, and helping students improve their speaking skills.

Abstract

This community service project aims to improve the digital literacy abilities of early childhood education (ECE) teachers at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 5, with a focus on utilizing Canva to create engaging learning materials. The program was carried out in three phases: planning, execution, and assessment. The preparatory phase included a requirements assessment via focus group discussions (FGDs), which indicated that although teachers were acquainted with Canva, they need more training to proficiently employ its functionalities for educational content development. Based on the findings, a systematic training curriculum was created, and facilitators, including lecturers and university students, were chosen for facilitating the sessions. The implementation phase comprised a two-week training program that combined theoretical discourse with practical application. Teachers were acquainted with digital literacy principles and instructed in the development of interactive instructional materials with Canva. The training included solitary tasks, group activities, and peer evaluations to improve learning results. During the evaluation phase, the training's impact was analyzed via focus group discussions to identify the teachers' confidence and preparedness to include digital technologies into their instruction. The findings indicate that the curriculum considerably enhanced instructors' capacity to use Canva for instruction, emphasizing the significance of ongoing digital literacy training for educators. Through the use of technology, this program shows how focused professional development may equip educators with useful skills to improve early childhood teaching.

Abstract

The application of the Best Interest of the Child principle in custody determinations is a critical issue, as it directly affects children’s welfare and the quality of legal protection in family disputes. Variations in judicial practices and inconsistencies between legal norms and judicial considerations indicate the need for a more in-depth examination of the principle’s effectiveness. This paper aims to evaluate the consistency of the application of the best interests principle in the Religious Courts through a normative–empirical approach, while also identifying gaps between regulatory frameworks, judicial practices, and the actual conditions experienced by children following custody decisions. This study employs a qualitative method, including normative analysis of child protection regulations, a jurisprudential review of court decisions, limited interviews, and an examination of empirical data concerning children’s conditions. The findings reveal that although the best interests principle serves as a strong legal foundation, its implementation remains influenced by the absence of objective assessment standards, variations in judicial reasoning, and the limited involvement of professional assessors. The study further confirms that custody decisions prioritizing children’s needs have a positive impact on their physical, emotional, and social development. Therefore, the formulation of technical guidelines and the involvement of relevant experts are necessary to ensure more consistent and child-centered custody rulings.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the moderating role of hedonic lifestyle and social interaction in the relationship between brand ambassador use and customer satisfaction. Amidst intense global brand competition, selecting public figures as brand ambassadors has become a key strategy to increase consumer trust and satisfaction. However, the effectiveness of this strategy often depends on the psychographic and sociological characteristics of consumers themselves. Using a quantitative method with a survey approach on 350 respondents who use beauty products, the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results show that brand ambassadors have a positive and significant influence on customer satisfaction. Key findings reveal that social interaction significantly strengthens this influence, while hedonic lifestyle acts as an emotional catalyst that increases expectations and satisfaction with the brand. The implications of this study suggest that marketing managers should focus not only on the popularity of brand ambassadors, but also on the social ecosystem and lifestyle of the target audience to optimize long-term satisfaction.
