Abstract

A This research aims to determine the polar bioactive compounds contained inActinopyga echiniteswho live on Puntondo Beach, Takalar Regency. Method used for extraction Actinopyga echinitesis a wet maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent. The extract results were analyzed using gas chromatography - mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to obtain information on the internal contentActinopyga echinites. The results of GC-MS analysis from this study showed that there were 123 possible compound components that were extracted using ethanol solvent. The research results also show that there are ten possible polar bioactive compounds in the highest peak of the GC-MS analysis results, namely: trans-13- Octadecenoic acid, cis-13-Octadecenoic acid, trans-13-Octadecenoic acid, methyl ester, n-Hexane, 9- Octadecenoic acid (Z)-, oxiranylmethyl ester, Hexadecanoic acid, methyl ester, and trans-13-Octadecenoic acid. Abstract

This descriptive study aims to do inventarisation of some variety of plants which could be used as material in the practical work of transportation system in plants. The study was done in four phases; exploration of plants in the natural environment, the test of the plants in Natural Science Laboratory of SMPN 27 Makassar, determination of the plants which could be used as practical material in transportation system based on the laboratory test, and “fit and proper” test of the plants used in the experiment which was done by the students of SMPN 27 Makassar. The study showed that there were 9 species out of 25 variety of plants explored in natural environment that could be used in the plants transportation system experiment in laboratory. Those species are Piperomia pellucida (L.)H.B.K., Amaranthus gracilis Desf., Celosia arganteaL., Physalis angulata L., Lycopersicon lycopersicum (L.) Karsten, Coleus sp., Coleus swisssunshine, Helianthus annuus L., dan Cleome gynandra L.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the polar bioactive compounds contained in Actinopyga echinites who live on Puntondo Beach, Takalar Regency. Method used for extraction Actinopyga echinitesis a wet maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent. The extract results were analyzed using gas chromatography - mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to obtain information on the internal content Actinopyga echinites. The results of GC-MS analysis from this study showed that there were 123 possible compound components that were extracted using ethanol solvent. Antioxidant capacity was evaluated using the 2,2-diphenyl-β-picrylhydrazine assay. The research results also show that there are ten possible polar bioactive compounds in the highest peak of the GC-MS analysis results, namely: trans-13- Octadecenoic acid, cis-13-Octadecenoic acid, trans-13-Octadecenoic acid, methyl ester, n-Hexane, 9- Octadecenoic acid (Z)-, oxiranylmethyl ester, Hexadecanoic acid, methyl ester, and trans-13-Octadecenoic acid. The presence of estersand dominant fatty acids is thought to cause the high antioxidant activity of antioxidant activity of Actinopyga echinites.

Abstract

Slaughterhouse waste is generally disposed into the environment without being processed, so that it potentially causes air pollution, water pollution, and soil pollution. Slaughterhouse waste can be processed and used as plant fertilizer through the composting process. This study aims to compare the composting performance of solid waste at Tamangapa RPH Makassar between the main ingredient consisting of rumen contents only (treatment I) with that consisting of a mixture of rumen contents with livestock manure (treatment II). We recorded quantitative data including temperature (0C), pH, material mass reduction and composting time and qualitative parameters including color, smell and texture of the resulting compost. The composting process was carried out in a compost box with a size of 40x40x60 cm with a passive aeration system for 4 weeks with three replications. Our results demonstrated that treatment I and treatment II had a similar pattern of temperature changes, while the average pH of treatment I was higher compared to treatment II. Based on the composting performance data including changes in temperature and pH from the first week to the fourth week of composting, we concluded that both treatments resulted in a rapid composting process with good-quality compost.

Abstract

Rumah Potong Hewan (RPH) menghasilkan limbah padat dengan jumlah yang besar setiap hari dan belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Limbah padat RPH memiliki potensi yang besar untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk tanaman melalui proses pengomposan. Pengomposan diharapkan bisa mengubah komposisi bahan organik limbah padat RPH menjadi lebih ideal untuk mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi kimia pupuk kompos yang dibuat dari limbah pada RPH Tamangapa Kota Makassar baik sebelum dan setelah proses pengomposan. Pembuatan kompos dari limbah padat RPH Tamangapa kota Makassar dilakukan dengan menggunakan bahan utama isi rumen (perlakuan I) dan isi rumen yang dicampur dengan kotoran ternak dengan perbandingan 1:1 (Perlakuan II). Proses pengomposan dilakukan didalam kotak kompos dengan ukuran 40x40x60 cm dengan sistem aerasi passif selama 4 minggu dengan tiga kali ulangan. Data kuantitatif yang diuji pada penelitian ini meliputi kandungan N-total (%), C-Organik (%), P-total (%), K-total (%), rasio C/N, bahan organik (%), kadar air (%) dan reduksi kompos (%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kandungan unsur C, N, P, K, rasio C/N, bahan organik, dan kadar air sebelum pengomposan baik pada perlakuan I dan perlakuan II secara umum masih rendah dan hampir sama dengan bahan bakunya. Setelah proses pengomposan berlangsung kandungan unsur C, P, K, rasio C/N, bahan organik, secara umum menunjukkan adanya peningkatan, sedangkan kandungan unsur N relatif tetap. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara komposisi kimia kompos pada perlakuan I dan perlakuan II baik sebelum dan setelah proses pengomposan

Abstract

Virus SARS-CoV-2 yang merupakan penyebab pandemi COVID-19 sejakakhir tahun 2019 telah mengalami banyak mutasi yang memunculkan beberapavariants of concern (VOC) dengan penularan, virulensi, dan kemampuanmenghindari sistem imun yang lebih tinggi daripada varian awal (wild-type). Hinggakini terdapat empat varian yang termasuk dalam VOC virus tersebut yaitu varianalfa, beta, gamma, dan delta. Peningkatan transmisi dan virulensi pada VOC tersebutdikaitkan dengan perubahan mutasi pada protein spike yang merupakan strukturdari virus yang berperan dalam pengikatan dengan sel host. Pada artikel ini kamimelakukan literature review mengenai VOC dari virus SARS-CoV-2 terkait mutasiyang terjadi dan dampaknya pada proses pengikatan virus. Untuk mendapatkanpemahaman terkait dampak dari mutasi di berbagai varian tersebut, kami jugamereview struktur dari protein spike dan proses entry virus ke dalam sel host.
