Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of Islamic economic principles in the mineral water production process. There are three main pillars that are the focus of this study, namely tauhid (belief in the oneness of Allah), maslahah (public interest), and justice. Amidst the growing awareness of the importance of ethical and sustainable business practices, the sharia-based production model offers a relevant framework that is not only oriented towards material profit, but also towards the benefit of all parties. The primary objective of this research is to identify the extent to which these principles are integrated throughout the entire mineral water production chain, from the selection of water sources that must be maintained for sustainability, production processes that prioritize quality and cleanliness, to product distribution that ensures fair access for consumers. Furthermore, this study also aims to analyze how the application of these principles can add value to companies, not only in terms of reputation and consumer trust but also in creating positive social and environmental impacts. The analysis results indicate that the integration of Islamic economic principles in mineral water production has significant potential to form a holistic and sustainable business model. This implementation can serve as a guide for other industries to adopt more ethical and socially responsible business practices, in line with Islamic values.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Islamic communication ethics in social media content, especially through the analysis of Felix Siauw's social experiment on Instagram related to the polemic of the use of the OnePiece flag as a protest symbol for the Indonesian youth ahead of the 80th Independence Day in August 2025. Using a qualitative method with a literature study approach and thematic content analysis, this study reveals how the principles of Islamic communication such as qaulan sadidan (correct speech), qaulan layyina (gentle speech), qaulan maysura (easy to understand speech), and qaulan kariman (noble speech) can be applied in responding to controversial popular cultural phenomena in the digital space. The results of the study show that Islamic communication ethics are able to transform controversial symbols into a constructive educational medium through moderate, dialogical, and contextual communication strategies. Felix Siauw succeeded in applying the principles of tabayyun (clarification) and wisdom (wisdom) in reducing tension while building the audience's critical awareness of the value of justice. The dynamics of public response on social media reflect the complexity of digital interactions that require an inclusive communication approach to prevent polarization and hate speech. This research confirms that Islamic communication in the digital age not only serves as a moral guide, but also as a strategic instrument for managing complex public discourse. The application of ethical principles in social media has the potential to strengthen social harmony, educate the public, and maintain the integrity of digital interactions within the framework of Islamic values, especially in the face of popular cultural phenomena that have the potential to trigger controversy.

Abstract

Load imbalance in a three-phase low voltage distribution system is a significant operational challenge and can result in voltage drops and reduced efficiency. Based on the daily three-phase load profile of the electrical engineering academic building at the University of Lampung, particularly during operating hours, the R-phase overloaded (+13.64% deviation). Meanwhile, the S-phase underloaded (-1.70% deviation), and the T-phase underloaded (-11.94% deviation). This study implements an optimization model to balance loads by relocating load units between phases. This model was developed using Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) framework to produce practical and implementable recommendations. An innovative approach to dynamic load identification is introduced, where the model intelligently determines which loads are active at each time interval based on aggregate power data from the power meter data acquisition system. The optimal solution involved relocating six air conditioning units from the overloaded Phase R (three to Phase S and three to Phase T). This implementation successfully achieved a near-perfectly balanced system, validated by an 11.83% reduction in the aggregate load imbalance metric.

Abstract

The flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra demonstrate that hydrometeorological disasters are not solely natural phenomena but also cumulative consequences of upstream ecological degradation, including deforestation and peatland damage, compounded by governance failures. This study aims to analyze these disasters through a maqāṣidī interpretation of the Qur’anic story of Pharaoh to reveal the normative and political dimensions of leadership negligence. Employing a qualitative literature-based method, the study conducted hermeneutic analysis, thematic identification, and synthesis of primary and secondary sources concerning Qur’anic narratives, ecological conditions, and disaster policies. The findings reveal three principal points. First, “Pharaohistic” patterns of leadership, characterized by absolutism, the normalization of structural violence, and narrative manipulation, are reflected in political decisions that disregard public safety. Second, delays in declaring national disaster status aggravated emergency response and contributed to secondary fatalities by constraining the mobilization of resources and essential services. Third, effective disaster prevention and recovery require the integration of evidence-based ecological interventions, including upstream ecosystem restoration, a moratorium on land conversion, and peatland management, with policy reform, institutional accountability, and local community participation. The study concludes that disaster mitigation and reconstruction should be situated within the framework of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, particularly ḥifẓ al-nafs, as a normative benchmark for governmental legitimacy and responsibility. Without structural ecological and governance reforms, similar disasters are likely to recur. These findings contribute to ecological Islamic studies by connecting Qur’anic narratives of oppressive leadership with contemporary disaster governance and imply the need for risk-based emergency declarations, upstream ecosystem rehabilitation, and transparent accountability mechanisms.

Abstract

The quality of public services is strongly influenced by the effectiveness of queue management, particularly in motor vehicle tax administration services where customers must complete several sequential service stages. Long waiting times may reduce service efficiency and public satisfaction. This study aimed to analyze the queueing system of the five-year Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) service at UPTB-UPPD Sumbawa Besar, identify the appropriate queueing model, evaluate the performance of each service phase, and propose improvement alternatives through simulation. This research employed a quantitative descriptive approach using Queueing Theory with a Multichannel–Multiphase (M/M/c) model. Primary data were collected through direct observation over five working days, including customer arrival rates, service rates, and the number of service counters. The data were analyzed using POM-QM for Windows to determine queue performance indicators, including server utilization, average queue length, average waiting time, and average time spent in the system. The results indicate that the service system is appropriately represented by the Multichannel–Multiphase (M/M/c) model. Among the five service phases, Phase 5 exhibited the highest server utilization (ρ = 0.760), an average queue length of 3.138 customers, an average waiting time of 32.758 minutes, and an average system time of 41.09 minutes, indicating that this phase is the primary bottleneck in the service process. Simulation results demonstrated that increasing service capacity at Phase 5 significantly reduced queue length and waiting time while improving overall system performance. These findings provide practical recommendations for optimizing queue management and enhancing the quality and efficiency of public services.

Abstract

Islamic education, throughout its history and development, consistently positions thelearning process as a sacred interaction between teacher and student, aimed notonly at transferring knowledge but also at instilling values. Within the madrasahcurriculum, the subject of Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) occupies a strategic andfundamental position. The approach used in this study is a qualitative one.Qualitative research is a method conducted by someone capable of collecting data, who is essentially the sole researcher in all aspects, although in the field may beassisted by a team or group. Qualitative methods are the development of socialscience theory and methodology in the Indonesian context. Qualitative methods canuncover and understand something behind unknown events. Islamic education, throughout its history and development, consistently positions the learning processas a sacred interaction between teacher and student, aimed not only at transferringknowledge but also at instilling values. The application of the Question and AnswerMethod in Increasing Active Student Participation in Fiqh at MTs Miftahul UlumCermenan, namely the presence of teachers with clear sanad (chain of narrators),a conducive environment, and students who are highly motivated to understand andimprove their reading. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are the lack ofcommunication between teachers and students, not all students have the sameunderstanding so they quickly get bored and lazy, lack of motivation fromthemselves and also the lack of a conducive environment which makes studentsfeel disturbed.
