Abstract

The progression of technology could lead to online risks, such as accidental exposure to harmful content by undergraduates. Investigating how this exposure affects their mental health, particularly academic stress, and in turn, their academic performance, is critically important. This study aims to examine the impact and predictability of online risks on undergraduates’ academic stress and performance, using logistic regression as the main method of analysis. The findings show that online risks have a significant effect on academic stress (p<0.05), but there is no significant impact on academic performance (p>0.05). Students who frequently encounter scam or bullying content are 2.317 and 2.400 times more likely, respectively, to suffer from academic stress compared to those who encounter it less. Additionally, demographic factors, especially gender, are significant (p<0.05) in terms of academic stress and performance. The analysis predicts that females are 4.210 times more likely to experience academic stress than males, while males are 2.768 times (in model 4) and 2.601 times (model 5) more likely to achieve cum laude honors than females. This research provides valuable insights for academic policy makers to improve education quality and offers a basis for further studies in this area.

Abstract

Background: Families residing in disaster-prone areas are at increased risk of psychological and functional disruption during and after disasters. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the psychoeducation for family preparedness (PEKA) application in improving psychological preparedness and family functional activities among households in disaster-prone communities. Methods: A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design was conducted with 60 purposively selected families. The intervention group utilized the PEKA application for 4 weeks, a practical and user-friendly tool that comprises six interactive modules covering disaster education, emotional regulation, evacuation planning, communication, daily functionality, and journaling. Validated instruments measured psychological preparedness and functional activity. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests and ANCOVA. Results: After the intervention, the intervention group showed significant improvements in both psychological preparedness (Mean ± SD: 66.2 ± 7.8 to 81.4 ± 6.9; p < 0.001) and functional activities (62.0 ± 6.3 to 75.6 ± 7.1; p < 0.001), while the control group did not show significant changes. ANCOVA revealed significant between-group differences for both psychological preparedness (F (1,57) = 18.96; p < 0.001; η² = 0.248) and functional activity (F (1,57) = 12.21; p = 0.001; η² = 0.176). Application engagement was high, with 85% of participants completing more than 80% of the modules. Conclusion: The PEKA application was an effective digital intervention that enhances both the psychological preparedness and functional capacity of families in disaster-prone areas. Integrating psychoeducational content with interactive tools and professional support can strengthen family resilience and serve as a scalable model for community-based disaster risk reduction.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia has experienced developments related to the use of technology. Learning on personal computers (PC) and smartphone technology devices is common, and it is also referred to as "hybrid learning." However, when researchers conducted a survey of SMK students in Surakarta, even though they had used personal computers or gadgets, they only used a few media software programs to study engineering material. Seeing this phenomenon, researchers want to identify students' needs for media software, namely mobile augmented reality. This identification aims to provide a critical initial analysis of the need for mobile augmented reality learning media software that is connected to a smartphone for engineering learning for SMK students. The research samples involved were students of SMK N 2 Surakarta and SMK N 5 Surakarta. Using questionnaires, field observations, and interviews as data collection techniques. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. Define part of the 4D research model using the research method, and the research results show that SMK students in Surakarta require mobile augmented reality media in learning engineering material if hybrid learning is used.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the implementation of Vygotsky's theory of social constructivism in learning Pancasila education to strengthen students' cooperative attitudes. This study used a phenomenological method with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were teachers who teach Pancasila education subjects and grade III students at Gondangmanis State Elementary School, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java Province. The data collection technique was carried out by observation and interviews, which were then checked for validity of the data using triangulation techniques and sources, the data analysis used was interactive analysis. The results of the study showed that the theory of social constructivism was relevant to strengthening the attitude of cooperation in Gondangmanis State Elementary School in the learning of Pancasila Education. Gondangmanis State Elementary School still tends to be selective in choosing their group mates, but after the teacher implements Vygotsky's theory of social constructivism through Pancasila Education learning, students easily blend in with each side regardless of differences. It can happen because teachers divide groups randomly regardless of the differences in students' backgrounds after being divided, students are required to cooperate in the group to complete the tasks given by the teacher. Through this process, the attitude of cooperation of students can be built well because they are used to working with each student regardless of differences in background, both differences in religion, ethnicity, and area of residence.
