Abstract

Insufficient breast milk production remains a major barrier to achieving exclusive breastfeeding at both global and national levels. In Indonesia, exclusive breastfeeding coverage declined from 88.9% in 2021 to 82.2% in 2023. The use of plant-based herbal galactagogues, particularly Sauropus androgynus (katuk leaves), is widely practiced; however, comparative evidence against active interventions such as lactation education remains limited. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of katuk leaf decoction and breastfeeding technique education in increasing breast milk production among postpartum mothers. A quantitative study with a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was conducted involving 32 postpartum mothers selected through purposive sampling from a population of 66, comprising 16 respondents in the intervention group (katuk leaf decoction 150 ml/day for 7 days) and 16 respondents in the control group (breastfeeding technique education). Breast milk production was assessed using a structured observation sheet based on four proxy indicators. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test for within-group comparisons and the Mann–Whitney test for between-group comparisons. The results showed that breast milk production scores increased in both groups, with a higher mean increase observed in the intervention group (from 4.44 to 6.56; Δ=2.12) compared with the control group (from 4.19 to 5.94; Δ=1.75). Within-group analysis demonstrated statistically significant improvements in both groups (p=0.001), and between-group comparison revealed a statistically significant difference in score changes (p<0.05). In conclusion, katuk leaf decoction demonstrated a greater increase in breast milk production compared with breastfeeding technique education; however, these findings should be interpreted cautiously due to methodological limitations, and further studies using more rigorous designs are recommended.

Abstract

MSMEs play a vital role in the national economy, yet they still face a major obstacle, namely limited business capital. Musharaka financing in Islamic banking offers a solution, as it implements the principles of partnership and profit-sharing. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of musharaka financing for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at the National Pension Savings Bank (BTPN) Syariah in Central Lombok Regency. This study employed a qualitative approach with descriptive analytical methods through interviews with five MSME customers receiving musharaka financing and one BTPN Syariah employee. The results indicate that musharaka financing is effective in increasing customers' access to capital, income, business stability, and business sustainability. This effectiveness is supported by a fair profit-sharing system, business mentoring, financial training, and regular monitoring by the bank. However, obstacles remain, such as low transparency in business reports, weak financial records, and the risk of moral hazard due to information asymmetry between the bank and customers. Therefore, strengthening mentoring, financial literacy, and monitoring systems are important factors in increasing the effectiveness of musyarakah financing for MSMEs.

Abstract

Non-pressurized manned submersibles continue to struggle with fundamental limitations in buoyancy control and energy management, while traditional ballast systems present considerable challenges when operational demands increase, making macro foam technology an intriguing alternative that could address these persistent issues through passive buoyancy enhancement. This study quantitatively evaluates the impact of macro foam integration on NPMS operational parameters by comparing configurations with and without macro foam across multiple performance metrics using actual technical specifications through comprehensive computational analysis examining vehicle mass, buoyancy characteristics, ballast tank specifications, and operational efficiency across four distinct ballast configurations (neutral, forward full, center full, aft full), with performance metrics evaluated using standardized naval engineering protocols based on actual submersible design data. Macro foam integration demonstrated significant improvements across all measured parameters, with tank volume requirements decreasing by 64.4% (from 1466.43L to 521.53L), buoyancy deficit decreasing by 60.7% (from 1.35 to 0.53 tons), total buoyancy increasing by 175% (from 0.65 to 1.79 tons), and ballast requirements reducing by 43.6-60.7% across all configurations, while safety margins improved dramatically with a 3.4:1 emergency buoyancy ratio compared to 0.5:1 without foam. These findings demonstrate that macro foam integration provides fundamental improvements in NPMS operational capability, safety margins, and energy efficiency, with the technology transitioning from optional enhancement to essential operational requirement for practical submersible deployment in modern naval operations.

Abstract

Mathematics is often considered a difficult subject and is of little interest to students, which results in students having difficulty learning independently outside of school. The difficulty of class XI students in understanding mathematics material is the background for the need to use new technology, namely articulate storylines, so that mathematics learning is more innovative and interactive. This community service activity is divided into 2 stages, namely the preparation stage and the implementation stage. In the preparation stage, the community service team conducted interviews with class XI mathematics teachers at MA Miftahussaam to find out what material was still difficult for students to understand. The second stage of this community service activity is the implementation stage which includes a pre-test, providing learning companion modules, playing the Articulate Storyline video, and post-test. The results of community service regarding the use of Articulate Storyline media at MA Miftahussalam show that the average pre-test score of 25 students is 42.2. This average value shows that the level of students' understanding ability and interest in learning about Indefinite Integral material is still below the average standard, namely less than 50. Meanwhile, the average post-test score of 25 students is 72.2. This average value shows that the level of students' understanding ability and interest in learning about Integral Uncertain material has reached the standard value, namely more than 70. Meanwhile, if calculated using percentages, the percentage increase in value from pre-test to post-test is 71.09%. This percentage level can be stated to be quite good.

Abstract

The Jatibarang Final Processing Site (TPA) plays a crucial role as a domestic waste treatment unit for the Semarang City area. Accumulated domestic waste generates leachate, which typically contains toxic chemicals, pathogenic bacteria, as well as organic and inorganic compounds. Uncontrolled management of domestic waste can lead to severe environmental impacts, such as the spread of diseases and the degradation of water quality, which may hinder potential reuse. It is essential for TPA management to monitor leachate concentration distribution to facilitate effective mitigation efforts. The phenomena and challenges associated with TPAs can be examined through mathematical modeling particularly dynamic models to study the behavior of leachate dispersion. Numerical approaches, especially the finite difference method, play a significant role in solving the complexity of models that are otherwise analytically intractable. This article presents a study based on field observations and a review of relevant scientific literature to identify the various potentials and challenges related to leachate dispersion, analyzed through mathematical modeling and numerical techniques.
