Abstract

This study examined the analysis of e-books and reading comprehension in EFL in the last ten years. Academics have teaching-learning procedures. In learning one of the skills required in education is reading. Reading is necessary for students' personal and academic development, and reading comprehension is also essential. Reading comprehension is a student's understanding of a text's meaning and value. One learning media that may increase students' reading comprehension in the classroom is the e-book. An E-book is an electronic version of a printed book. The study employs bibliometrics to assess a research trend. This analysis utilizes Scopus information from 2012 to 2022 using PoP, VosViewer examines the metadata, and Tableau Public visualizes the VosViewer findings. This analysis reveals publishing trends, most cited authors and articles, journal rank, publication categories, article pages, nations, and keywords. This study discovered that the map from 29 datasets has 117 terms and 85 items, 13 clusters, and 263 links with 265 link strengths. Some keywords have big circles, such as "English," "Comprehension," "E-book," and "effect," which are the keywords that occur most in the thirteen clusters formed. Each cluster shows a trend with the emergence of numerous keywords that are more distinctive to each cluster. In addition, the keyword "e-book" and "reading comprehension" is also related to the keyword "EFL learners," which is the focus analysis of this study. It shows that keywords are significant research points for e-books and EFL reading comprehension. However, the research has significant drawbacks. The researchers need thus do further investigations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan penilaian pembelajaran, problema guru dalam melaksanakan penilaian pembelajaran, dan langkah guru dalam menyiasati problema pelaksanaan penilaian pembelajaran Kurikulum 2013 di SD Negeri Ungaran dan SD Negeri Serayu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus.Subjek penelitian enam guru kelas IV yaitu tiga guru SD Negeri Ungaran dan tiga guru SD Negeri Serayu. Instrumen utama penelitian ini adalah human instrument. Instrumen pendukung menggunakan, pedoman wawancara, alat rekam, dan pedoman observasi. Teknik analsis data menggunakan analisis interaktif Miles Huberment (pengumpulan data, reduksi, display, dan verifikasi/membuat kesimpulan). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) Pelaksanaan penilaian pembelajaran Kurikulum 2013 belum sesuai standar. Enam guru yang menjadi informan, hanya satu guru yang berhasil melaksanakan sesuai standar yakni GS3,2) Problematika pelaksanaan penilaian pembelajaran Kurikulum 2013 meliputi; waktu, pemahaman guru, produktivitas guru, kepedulian guru dan mindset guru, 3) Bentuk siasat guru dalam mengatasi problematika yaitu siasat kolektif dan individual.Kata Kunci: pelaksanaan penilaian pembelajaran, dan Kurikulum 2013 Problems on the learning assessment of Curriculum 2013 AbstractThis study aimed to investigate the implementation of learning assessment of Curriculum 2013, the problems teachers in conducting learning assessments of Curriculum 2013, and teachers step in negotiating the problems encountered in the implementation of Curriculum 2013learning assessment in primary schools Serayu and Ungaran. This was a qualitative research with a case study. The subjects of the research were six teachers of grade IV, Three of Ungaran and Three of Serayu Elementary Schools. The main instrument was the human instrument. While supporting instruments used interview guid, tape recorder, and observation sheet. The data were analysed using interactive analysis Miles Huberment (data collection, reduction, display, and verification/conclude). These results indicate that 1) the implementation of learning assessment of Curriculum 2013 has not met standards. However, of the six teachers who became the subject of study, only one teacher managed to carry out met standards that GS3, 2) the problems of learning assessment of Curriculum 2013include; time, teachers’understanding, teachers’ productivity, teachers’ awareness and teachers’mindset, 3) the teachers strategy in addressing the problemis the teacher collective and individual strategy.Keywords: assessment of learning and Curriculum 2013

Abstract

Para pelaku bisnis berlomba-lomba untuk membuat iklan dengan kreativitas masing-masing melalui Yotube sebagai media sosial yang populer bagi masyarakat Indonesia.. Salah satunya yaitu Gojek yang belum lama ini menghadirkan iklan berjudul Jangan Sepelekan Kekuatan Sebuah Jempol di Youtube. Penelitian ini bertujuan menginterpretasikan pemaknaan jempol pada iklan tersebut dengan menggunakan analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Ada 18 versi iklan Gojek untuk judul Jangan Sepelekan Kekuatan Sebuah Jempol di Youtube. Hasil interpretasi iklan ini yaitu adanya pemaknaan kata jempol yang sangat luas. Dari sudut pandang tertentu jempol bisa menjadi sesuatu yang memiliki konotasi positif dan juga negatif. Melalui iklan ini, gojek berusaha mengajak penonton iklan untuk turut andil dalam menciptakan kebermaknaan jempol ke arah yang baik. Pesan inilah yang berusaha disampaikan oleh Gojek. Melalui kreativitasnya, Gojek dapat menghasilkan warna baru terhadap kebermaknaan sebuah jempol.

Abstract

While the success of language instruction is unquestionably reflected in students’ performance in communicating in the target language, their voices generally can best express their success, disappointment, or complacency worth to reflect. This article, based on the study held at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta in 2021, reports on a mixed-methods investigation that examines how an initial teacher educator (ITE) manages a course in English for academic purposes (EAP) from students’ perspectives. Fifty-five sociology education students selected through convenience sampling participated in a quantitative survey and focus group discussion. The quantitative data analysis shows students' positive views regarding the initial teacher educator's general performance, delivery, time management, material, media, assessment, and care. To complement the quantitative findings, the qualitative data scrutinized through thematic analysis suggest three imperative measures for more effective EAP instruction. Even though students rated ITEs performance as "Very Good" and her pedagogical competencies as "Very High," some qualitative data reveal the students' empirical voices that at least several adjustments must be made by acting on three imperative measures. This study provides insights into the self-study design for ITEs on upscaling their TPACK, professional commitments, and pedagogical identity.

Short Story Sesaat Sebelum Berangkat  By Puthut E.A: Reader Response Studies   ABSTRAKPenelitian ini berfokus untuk mendeskripsikan tanggapan para pembaca mengenai sebuah cerpen yang berjudul Sesaat Sebelum Berangkat karya Puthut E.A. Sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian ini, maka jenis penelitian ini ialah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ialah teori resepsi sastra. Data ini diperoleh menggunakan wawancara dengan 20 responden dari berbagai latar belakang yang berbeda. Adapun perbedaan yang dimaksudkan ialah perbedaan usia, perbedaan profesi, serta perbedaan latar belakang pendidikan. Data yang dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis hingga dapat menghasilkan sebuah kesimpulan. Berdasarkan respon pembaca dengan berbagai perbedaan yang telah dikelompokkan oleh peneliti, cerpen ini menggambarkan konflik orang tua dengan anak yang sering terjadi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Cerpen ini merupakan bentuk intropeksi diri bagi anak dan juga orang tua dalam hal komunikasi, dan cerpen ini juga mengajak pembaca untuk bisa lebih pandai dalam mengontrol ego dan emosi.Kata kunci: cerpen, teori resepsi sastra, tanggapan pembacaABSTRACTThis research focuses on describing readers' responses to a short story entitled Just Before Leaving by Puthut E.A. In accordance with the purpose of this study, this type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The theory used in research is the theory of literary reception. This data was obtained using interviews with 20 respondents from a variety of different backgrounds. The intended differences are differences in age, differences in professions, and differences in educational background. The collected data is then analyzed until it can produce a conclusion. Based on the responses of readers with various differences that have been grouped by researchers, this short story describes the conflicts of parents with children that often occur in everyday life. This short story is a form of self-introspection for children and parents in terms of communication, and this short story also invites readers to be better at controlling ego and emotions.Keyword:  short stories, literary reception theory, reader responses

Abstract

This article aims to semiotically review literary works, especially the short story Asal-Usul Pohon Salak by Willy Yanto Wijaya based on the perspective of Ferdinand de Saussure. A literary work, including a short story, in addition to having the physical and inner structure of the builder, also contains an element of implied meaning in the form of a certain symbolic language/sign. Semiotics studies is an approach/discipline of study that describes literary works based on the aspects of signs found/stated. Ferdinand de Saussure's theory is the preferred perspective for the study of semiotics in which there is an application of the principle of discussion of the main theory. There are a number of markers and markers that can be found in the fictional short story Asal-Usul Pohon Salak by Willy Yanto Wijaya. The results and discussions stated in this article are about signifiers and signified in the short story Asal-Usul Pohon Salak whose basis is the value of affection and environmental awareness built through excerpts of the text of the story.

Abstract

Sastra adalah penggamabaran serangkaian peristiwa yang terinspirasi dari peristiwa alamiah. Seiring dengan transformasi karya sastra, penulis sastra banyak memasukan unsur kebudayaan tradisional ke dalam karya sastra yang ditulisnya. Salah satu kebudayaan tradisional yang dimasukkan ke dalam karya sastra adalah wayang. Cerita wayang adalah cerita yang menggambarkan budaya manusia. Banyak keadaan dan peristiwa di dunia wayang sering dipandang sebagai representasi keadaan di dunia nyata. Oleh karena itu, representamen dalam sebuah sastra wayang menarik untuk dikaji. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data teknik simak. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara mereduksi data. Sementara itu, yang menjadi objek penelitian ini adalah representamen yang terdapat dalam cerpen “Gatotkaca” karya Bakdi Soemanto. Analisis ini akan menggunakan teori unsur semiotika representamen Peirce untuk membahasa tanda dalam cerpen “Gatotkaca”. Teori semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce mengemukakan tiga hal, yaitu representamen, interpretan, dan objek. Representamen dalam sebuah wacana memiliki fungsi yang berbeda beda dipengaruhi oleh konteks wacana tersebut. Penggunaan tanda pada cerita pendek sastra wayang ini adalah untuk membangun alur dan latar cerita. Latar cerita dalam cepen ini banyak yang ditunjukkan dengan cara implisit.

Abstract

Learning media is one of the important factors determining the success of the language learning process. The media will facilitate the work of teachers in carrying out the transfer of knowledge to students. In this regard, this study aims to (1) describe the suitability of the use of media in planning (RPP) with the implementation of language learning in the classroom, and (2) describe students' responses to the use of language learning media. Indonesian language learning media in public junior high schools in Sleman Regency. Qualitative and quantitative descriptive is research methods. Qualitative methods are carried out through observation instruments, interviews, and document analysis. The quantitative method is carried out through a questionnaire instrument. The research population is teachers and students of public junior high schools in Sleman Regency. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with strata technique (high, medium, low). The data analysis technique was descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The results of the study show that: first, the use of instructional media in planning and implementation is not appropriate. The learning media used by the teacher during learning are visual, conventional, and audio visual media. Second, students' responses to the use of learning media are categorized as good. The use of learning multimedia by teachers serves to stimulate thoughts, feelings, attention, and motivate students to learn so that language learning becomes more meaningful. AbstrakMedia pembelajaran merupakan salah satu faktor penting penentu keberhasilan proses pembelajaran bahasa. Media akan mempermudah kerja guru dalam mentransfer ilmu pengetahuan kepada siswa. Terkait dengan hal itu, penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan kesesuaian penggunaan media di perencanaan (RPP) dengan pelaksanaan pembelajaran bahasa di kelas dan (2) mendeskripsikan tanggapan siswa terhadap penggunaan media pembelajaran bahasa. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Metode kualitatif dilakukan melalui instrumen pengamatan, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Adapun metode kuantitatif dilakukan melalui instrumen angket. Populasi penelitian adalah guru dan siswa SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Sleman. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan teknik strata (tinggi, sedang, dan rendah). Teknik analisis data dengan cara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: pertama, penggunaan media pembelajaran pada perencanaan dan pelaksanaan tidak sesuai. Media pembelajaran yang digunakan guru saat pembelajaran adalah media visual, konvensional, dan audio visual. Kedua, tanggapan siswa terhadap penggunaan media pembelajaran berkategori baik. Penggunaan multimedia pembelajaran oleh guru berfungsi untuk merangsang pikiran, perasaan, perhatian, dan memotivasi peserta didik untuk belajar sehingga pembelajaran bahasa menjadi lebih bermakna.

Abstract

Dataran Tinggi Dieng merupakan daerah pegunungan yang banyak menyimpan sejuta sejarah tentang peradaban kuno. Masyarakat Dieng memiliki banyak fenomena kebudayaan dan tradisi, salah satunya ritual ruwatan rambut gimbal yang sudah ada secara turun-temurun sehingga menjadi suatu tradisi dan kebudayaan yang sakral. Suatu kebudayaan berkaitan erat dengan tanda atau simbol yang digunakan, termasuk tradisi ruwatan rambut gimbal di Dieng. Tanda atau simbol tersebut dapat memiliki makna yang mendalam, baik makna denotatif maupun konotataif. Bahkan suatu tanda juga dapat memiliki pesan tersirat (mitos). Penelitian ini menggunakan tipe penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan tanda atau simbol dalam tradisi ruwatan rambut gimbal di Dieng dengan analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Data penelitian diambil dari tanda dan makna verbal, visual, dan audio yang digunakan dalam menjalankan proses ruwatan rambut gimbal. Paradigma penelitian yang digunakan adalah kontruktivis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditarik kesimpulan pemaknaan denotatif proses ruwatan rambut gimbal yaitu berupa persiapan berbagai macam sesaji, rangkaian pemotongan rambut gimbal, penjamasan (pemandian) anak berambut gimbal, dan pelarungan helaian rambut gimbal yang sudah dipotong. Terdapat penjamasan (pemandian) anak berambut gimbal, dan pelarungan helaian rambut gimbal yang sudah di potong. Terdapat penjamasan (pemandian) anak berambut gimbal, dan pelarungan helaian rambut gimbal yang sudah di potong. Terdapatpemaknaan konotasi yang erat dengan ajaran agama Islam, di mana terdapat tanda bahasa verbal dalam pemotongan rambut gimbal yang berupa Kidung Rumeksa Ing Wengi . Di sisi lain, terdapat sesaji dan proses lain yang memiliki makna konotasi serta mitos berdasarkan falsafah Jawa atau keyakinan adat setempat.

This research describes about the problems of writing in university level. Writing becomes a challenging and complicated skill to master. Some of components must be involved and integrated proportionally. Therefore, project-based learning is offered to solve the problems. This study purposes to explore the improvement of project-based learning in the students’ writing in the fourth semester students of the English Education Program and the students’ responses when it is implied in learning writing. Qualitative was used as a research method and classroom action research as a research design. The research sample was fourth-semester students from English Education Program in a university in Magelang, Central Java in the academic year 2022-2023. To collect the data it is using observation, test, and questionnaire then for analyzing the data is using triangulation. The result found that project-based learning is able to improve the students writing achievements. It could be seen from the increasing of the score for each cycle (writing better) and students’ positive responses during the implementation of this method from improving of students’ activeness and motivation in writing learning. So it can be stated that Project Based Learning increases mark and encouragement of students’ writing learning.
