Abstract

This study delves into the intricate relationship between employee behavior and the efficacy of organizational changes within Balai Besar Bahan dan Barang Teknik, under the Indonesian Ministry of Industry. Employing a quantitative methodology, the research engaged with 32 dedicated employees at Balai Besar Bahan dan Barang Teknik, Ministry of Industry, uncovering valuable insights. These insights illuminate the critical role of employee behavior in shaping the brand's resonance and organizational transformation. The study reveals a web of correlations: a positive link between employee voice and change effectiveness, a negative association between employee exits and performance, an adverse connection between neglect and job satisfaction, and a robust bond between employee loyalty and resilience. These findings signify that within the Balai Besar Bahan dan Barang Teknik narrative, the employees who voice their concerns are more likely to perceive organizational changes as effective, bolstering brand awareness. Conversely, employees contemplating an exit demonstrate diminished performance, underscoring the pivotal role of employee engagement in upholding the brand's strength. Employee neglect points to a potential dent in job satisfaction, an aspect integral to brand loyalty. Moreover, unwavering employee loyalty is a cornerstone for resilience in the face of change, vital for brand continuity and brand awareness. In the larger context, these findings hold profound implications for policymakers and practitioners engaged in the realm of organizational change. The insights gleaned provide the foundation for strategic policies that encourage employee voice and reinforce brand loyalty, resulting in increased brand awareness. Practitioners can leverage these insights to craft change management strategies that dismantle resistance, ensuring successful change implementation and further enhancing brand recognition.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of debt-to-equity ratio (DER) and earnings per share (EPS) on stock prices in a company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The research applies a quantitative approach using secondary data from verified quarterly financial reports over eight years, consisting of 32 observation periods selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis includes classical assumption tests, correlation tests, and predictive power evaluation based on the R² model using EViews v.14. Hypothesis testing employs t-statistics and F-statistics at a significance level of 0.05. The findings reveal that DER negatively affects stock prices, while EPS has a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, DER and EPS positively and significantly influence stock prices with moderate predictive power. These results indicate that the combination of DER and EPS reflects profit growth and effective risk management, which may enhance investor confidence and support stock price increases.

Abstract

In the era of digitalization of education and economy and the development of artificial intelligence, adolescents appear highly competitive compared with other generations in understanding digital technologies, acquiring expertise, and mastering modern means of communication, which normally causes intergenerational conflicts and the loss of an adult's personal and functional authority. The aim of this research was to develop and test a model for developing adolescents' communicative cultures in an institution of additional education. The research emphasizes the significance of personality-oriented, interactive-communicative, and cultural approaches and conducts a comparative analysis of the sources. Methodologically, the study relies on a quantitative method with primary sources. Besides, the findings of the study contribute to the existing limited stress on the importance of adolescents' communicative cultures from the perspective of the digitalization of additional education. The study finds that the use of digital options in education has reduced social interaction among students. However, the students prefer to use digital methods of learning as they find them more convenient for communication. Therefore, the digital communication culture has high potential in the educational sector. The findings are novel as this study is one of the few recent studies that examined how communicative culture has transformed due to digital means in education. Doi: 10.28991/ESJ-2022-SIED-019 Full Text: PDF

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study investigates how elementary school principals in urban and rural settings develop future-ready leadership through integrating behavioral and managerial design change dimensions within an edification-based framework to address digital transformation challenges in Indonesian elementary education. Methodology: A mixed exploratory qualitative design with component analysis was employed, using structured observations and interviews with contrasting questions. Ten elementary school principals from Bandung City and West Bandung Regency were selected via purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using ATLAS.ti software through systematic thematic coding of non-numerical textual data. Main Findings: Urban schools in Bandung City demonstrated higher digital adaptability, innovative supervision, and active professional development supported by adequate infrastructure and collaborative culture. Rural schools in West Bandung Regency exhibited conventional leadership patterns constrained by limited technology access. Two integrated leadership stages emerged: Behavior Design Change (digital leadership, open-mindedness, efficacy, foresight) and Managerial Design Change (network, digital organization, transition management, digital transformation, innovation strategy). Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces an edification-based leadership development framework integrating behavioral and managerial design change dimensions specifically for elementary school principals. It advances existing knowledge by providing empirical evidence of urban–rural digital leadership disparities in Indonesia and offering a contextualized, culturally-responsive model for developing future-ready school leaders.

Abstract

Abstract: This study explores teachers' perceptions of secondary school principal leadership practices in Indonesia, examining how transformational, instructional, distributive, and servant leadership dimensions integrate in daily practice. The research identifies specific leadership behaviors perceived as most significant by teachers and analyzes their impact on teacher well-being, motivation, and professional commitment in Indonesian secondary education contexts. The study employed a descriptive phenomenological design with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews with one experienced secondary school teacher using purposive sampling. Analysis utilized Braun and Clarke's six-phase thematic analysis approach, with ATLAS.ti version 23 software facilitates systematic coding and pattern visualization. Four major themes emerged: (1) Personal Care and Attention, reflecting servant leadership through regular evaluation and crisis support; (2) Authority Delegation and Trust, demonstrating distributive leadership with structured guidance; (3) Teacher Professional Development, through weekly dissemination programs and classroom observation; and (4) Transformational Leadership, involving meaningful vision formulation, participation and multichannel communication. However, bidirectional collaborative learning between principals and teachers showed limitations. This study provides the first empirical evidence of multi-dimensional leadership integration in Indonesian secondary school contexts, advancing knowledge by demonstrating how Western leadership theories adapt within non-Western cultural frameworks. It introduces teachers' voices as a primary data source, offering insider perspectives often neglected in leadership studies and revealing authentic distributive leadership implementation challenges within hierarchical cultures. Findings inform principal training program development and educational policy formulation regarding competency standards and performance evaluation systems in Indonesian secondary education. Keywords: educational leadership, transformational leadership, instructional leadership, distributive leadership, servant leadership

Abstract

Abstract: One crucial aspect of digital leadership is the professional development of teachers through Professional Learning Community (PLC). However, literature exploring the relationship between digital leadership and PLC remains limited. This study aims to analyze research trends and developments in digital leadership and its implications for teachers' professional development using bibliometric analysis. Literature data were collected from the Scopus database for the period 2020–2024 using a Boolean Search query with keywords related to digital leadership and PLC. After filtering, 3,487 articles from various countries were selected. The analysis was conducted using VOSviewer software to identify research patterns and term network mapping. The visualization results reveal four major clusters in digital leadership research: (1) school leadership and teacher professional development, (2) experimental research and mental health in education, (3) community-based learning and qualitative research, and (4) digital transformation and transformational leadership. These findings indicate that digital leadership not only supports teacher professional development but also relates to mental well-being, innovation in community-based learning, and organizational adaptation to digital transformation. This study contributes by identifying research gaps in digital leadership and PLC and providing future research directions to explore technology-driven leadership strategies to enhance teacher professional development.
