Abstract

This study explores the role of principal leadership in implementing benchmarking at MTs Fadhilah Pekanbaru, focusing on public relations. Unlike conventional benchmarking studies that compare multiple aspects between schools, this research adopts a targeted approach, emphasizing the impact of public relations on school performance and reputation. A qualitative descriptive research design was used, centering on the principal and deputy principal responsible for public relations. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed using data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion techniques. The findings were then compared with relevant theories and prior research on benchmarking in education. The study found that implementing benchmarking in collaboration with MAN 1 Pekanbaru significantly improved public relations performance at MTs Fadhilah Pekanbaru. One of the key improvements was in external communication, evidenced by a structured and effective communication strategy. This included the strategic use of social media and digital platforms to enhance outreach and engagement with stakeholders. The findings highlight the effectiveness of focused benchmarking in improving public relations. The structured approach enabled the adoption of best practices, leading to enhanced school visibility and reputation. These results suggest that targeted benchmarking can serve as a model for improving other aspects of school management. This study demonstrates that benchmarking in public relations can be a valuable strategy for school improvement. Principal leadership plays a critical role in facilitating this process, ensuring that best practices are identified and integrated effectively. This approach has the potential to be expanded to other areas to enhance overall school performance.

Abstract

Emotional wellbeing during middle childhood significantly influences long-term developmental outcomes, yet the relationship between parental involvement in school-based educational planning and children's emotional wellbeing remains underexplored. This study examined the correlation between parental involvement in educational planning at school and emotional wellbeing among children in middle childhood. A quantitative correlational design was employed with 140 parents of elementary school children (ages 6-12 years) in Cicalengka Sub-district, Bandung Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected via validated questionnaires measuring parental involvement in educational planning (35 items, α = 0.955) and children's emotional wellbeing across three dimensions: hope for the future, sense of control, and self-worth (17 items, α = 0.864). Spearman's rank-order correlation analysis was conducted to assess the relationship between variables. A statistically significant positive correlation was found between parental involvement in educational planning and children's emotional wellbeing (rho = 0.537, p < 0.01), indicating a moderate-strength relationship. Active parental participation in school-based educational planning is meaningfully associated with enhanced emotional wellbeing in elementary school children. These findings suggest that institutional mechanisms facilitating parental engagement in educational decision-making may yield benefits extending beyond academic achievement to encompass psychological wellbeing, informing educational policy and family-school partnership initiatives.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of instructional leadership of school principals and teachers' work motivation for the teaching performance of elementary school teachers in Tegalwaru District, Purwakarta Regency. The approach used is quantitative with correlation and multiple regression methods. The study population included 237 teachers from 25 elementary schools, with a sample of 142 teachers determined through proportional random sampling techniques. Data was collected using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out with the help of SPSS 24 through descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, correlation tests, determination coefficients, F tests and t tests, as well as the preparation of regression equations. The results showed that instructional leadership had a significant effect on teaching performance with a contribution of 43.6%, work motivation had a significant effect with a contribution of 30%, and simultaneously both explained 47.6% of teacher performance variations. Implication, strengthening instructional leadership and a system of increasing work motivation needs to be a priority for elementary school policies. It is recommended that school principals improve academic supervision, coaching, and professional support, while teachers develop pedagogic competencies and classroom management through continuous development programs. Follow-up research is recommended to include other factors outside the model, such as school culture, parental support, and learning facilities, to explain the remaining variation in performance and enrich the development of teacher performance management models at the primary education level.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy implementation on graduate competitiveness in Indonesian higher education, using Actor–Network Theory (ANT) as the mediating analytical lens. A quantitative research design using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-AMOS) was applied to responses from 250 graduates across various universities and fields of study, including MBKM participants and non-participants. The findings indicate that the effective implementation of the MBKM policy significantly enhances graduate competitiveness, both directly and indirectly, as influenced by actor-network dynamics involving universities, industry partners, and technical systems. Key elements, including communication, resource support, and collaborative engagement, are demonstrated to drive improvements in employability and labor-market readiness. The study advances higher education policy discourse by empirically demonstrating that policy success depends not only on structural design but also on the capacity of stakeholder networks to translate policy into meaningful graduate outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a comprehensive Teacher CPD (Continuous Professional Development) model integrating the TPACK framework with attitude and character knowledge. The model addressed both cognitive competencies, such as pedagogical, technological, and content knowledge, and non-cognitive competencies, including attitude and character traits. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative data from a survey of 1,012 teachers across Indonesia with qualitative data from interviews. The findings reveal that teachers prioritize pedagogical, professional, social, and personality competencies, while also emphasizing the importance of attitude and character for effective teaching. Teachers with strong character traits, such as empathy, responsibility, and integrity, were found to be more effective in integrating technology and fostering positive classroom environments. The study highlights the need for CPD programs to focus on both technical skills and emotional intelligence, offering a more holistic approach to teacher development in the digital age.

Abstract

Due to the development of technology and organizational needs, the competence of the State Civil Apparatus has increased significantly, necessitating the adjustment of improvement techniques. Furthermore, the lack of a role for the sending agency in training continues to be an impediment to the intersperity between competence needs and the implementation system. This research focuses on how the competency-based training model is applied, as well as the function and impact of supervisory authorities' training results on enhancing performance. This study uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to obtain results that are relevant to the needs, and it was conducted at the State Administration Agency's Center for Training and Development and Competency Mapping of State Civil Apparatus with alumni research training supervisory officials in 2018, 2019, and 2020. According to the findings of the study, the training has not taken advantage of technological advancements or maximized the role of the sending agency, so there are still difficulties and limits in its execution, particularly in terms of location and time. To meet these issues, a training model must be developed that focuses on ensuring the organizer's competency.

Abstract

Developing leadership competencies is a central objective of theological education; however, empirical evidence on how such competencies influence graduates’ job performance within ministry-based contexts has remained limited. This study analyzed the effects of interpersonal and personal competencies on the performance of theological college graduates. Primary data were collected through structured interviews using a questionnaire administered to 77 randomly selected employed alumni of a theological college in Cianjur Regency, drawn from an alum list of 259 potential respondents. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings revealed that personal competency—encompassing self-awareness, integrity, and emotional maturity—had a more substantial influence on alum performance than interpersonal competency, which included empathy and communication. This study contributes empirical evidence from a theological education context, underscoring the importance of integrating personal formation into leadership development. The results suggest that theological institutions should enhance holistic curricula emphasizing character and self-leadership as foundations for effective servant leadership.

Abstract

This study examines trends in heutagogy research in Islamic education published between 2010 and 2024 through a bibliometric analysis of Scopus-indexed publications. The study aims to map the development, thematic focus, and scholarly contributions of heutagogy as a self-determined learning approach and to highlight its relevance for strengthening learner autonomy in Islamic educational contexts. Using a bibliometric review design, data were collected from the Scopus database through keyword-based searches related to heutagogy, self-determined learning, and Islamic education, with filters applied for publication year and document type. A total of 175 documents were analyzed using bibliometric mapping techniques, including publication trend analysis, geographical distribution, and co-word analysis, supported by VOSviewer software. The results indicate a consistent growth in publications with an annual increase of 10.79%, dominated by contributions from the United Kingdom, Australia, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Keyword analysis reveals core themes such as self-determined learning, andragogy, and online learning, demonstrating the close relationship between heutagogy and digital learning environments. Nevertheless, gaps remain in the application of heutagogical principles to Islamic education, particularly in teacher education, curriculum design for PAI, and technology-integrated learning models. The study concludes that heutagogy offers significant potential for advancing autonomous, reflective, and lifelong learning within Islamic education in the digital era.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to examine the Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework as a conceptual foundation for developing a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) model for teachers that is adaptive, collaborative, and sustainable. The study employs a qualitative approach using a literature-based research design, drawing on international scholarly articles, policy documents, and research reports published between 2020 and 2025 related to teacher professional development, TPACK, flexible delivery, and learning communities. Data were analyzed using thematic and content analysis to identify key patterns, conceptual gaps, and directions for model development. The findings indicate that effective CPD requires integration of technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge supported by flexible multimodal delivery and professional learning communities to ensure relevance and sustainability. Furthermore, the literature reveals a conceptual gap in existing CPD models, which often overlook the role of teachers’ professional attitudes and character in sustaining pedagogical change. Based on these findings, this study proposes an extended TPACK framework (TPACK-ChA) that integrates attitude and character knowledge as a basis for developing a more comprehensive CPD model for teachers. Keywords: TPACK, CPD, flexible delivery, learning community, teacher professional development.
