Abstract

Early Breastfeeding Initiation (EBI) is an important early intervention in forming an emotional bond between mother and baby through skin-to-skin contact in the first hour of life. The implementation of EBI can increase bonding attachment which plays a role in children's emotional and psychological development. However, not all mothers carry out EBI optimally so that it can affect the quality of the mother-baby relationship. To determine the relationship between Early Breastfeeding Initiation (EBI) and bonding attachment between mother and newborn at the Bineh Krueng Health Center, Southwest Aceh Regency. This study is a quantitative research with an observational analytical design using a cross sectional approach. The population in this study is all mothers who give birth to newborns as many as 60 people. The sampling technique used the Slovin formula so that a sample of 60 respondents was obtained. Data analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that most of the mothers carried out EBI as many as 41 respondents (68.3%) and had good bonding attachment as many as 39 respondents (65%). The results of the Chi-Square test showed a value of p = 0.002 (p < 0.05) which means that there is a significant relationship between EBI and bonding attachment between mother and newborn. There is a significant relationship between Early Breastfeeding Initiation (EBI) and maternal and newborn attachment bonding. It is hoped that health workers can improve education and assistance to mothers and families in the implementation of EBI so that it can be carried out optimally to support the formation of emotional bonds between mothers and babies.

Abstract

The Communicative Method or Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) is a language teaching approach that emphasizes language ability as a means of communication. In the context of Arabic language learning for first-semester students (beginners), this method is considered relevant as it addresses low learning motivation, limited vocabulary mastery, and students’ lack of confidence. This article aims to examine the concepts, principles, and implementation of the communicative method in Arabic language learning for first-year students of the Islamic Economic Law Program at UIN Ar-Raniry. The research method employed is a library study by analyzing various literature sources related to CLT and Arabic language teaching. The results of the study indicate that the communicative method is effective in increasing students’ active participation, speaking confidence, and mastery of basic Arabic language skills in a contextual and functional manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and integrate the concept of scaffolding within the framework of Islamic education by examining the thoughts of Ibn Khaldun and the constructivist theory of Lev Vygotsky. Amidst global educational challenges and the growing need for adaptive and contextual learning approaches, scaffolding emerges as an effective pedagogical strategy to support students' optimal cognitive development. Vygotsky, through his concept of the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD), underscores the importance of external assistance from teachers or more knowledgeable others in the learning process. Meanwhile, Ibn Khaldun, in his seminal work Muqaddimah, emphasizes the necessity of gradual instruction (tadarruj), repetition, and the psychological readiness of learners in acquiring knowledge. This study employs a qualitative-descriptive approach with a library research design. Data were analyzed through content analysis of both primary and secondary sources relevant to the topic. The findings reveal a conceptual convergence between Vygotsky's scaffolding and Ibn Khaldun's educational philosophy, particularly in the teacher's role as a facilitator and the importance of tailored learning support based on students’ capabilities. The novelty of this research lies in its integrative effort to construct a conceptual bridge between classical Islamic thought and modern educational theory. Furthermore, it offers practical contributions as a foundation for developing Islamic learning models grounded in values and contextual relevance. This study is expected to serve as a reference for progressive and localized pedagogical renewal in Islamic education.

The data technique uses observation, interview and documentation methods. Data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that in desa Purwosari, Kecamatan Bandar, Kabupaten Bener Meriah, parents used different communication patterns in accompanying children when learning, namely: permissive, authoritarian and democratic communication patterns. The pattern of communication frees parents to tend to ignore children when studying so that children's learning behavior is not directed and structured, children learn according to their own wishes, easily neglect their duties and obligations to study at home. Parents who use authoritarian communication patterns, parents give orders and restrictions so that children's learning behavior is forced in learning. While parents use democratic communication patterns, openness between parents and children, so that children's learning behavior is directed and structured, children learn casually, are not burdened and quickly absorb lessons with a study schedule that has been compiled together. Of the three communication patterns above, the effective communication pattern when children study at home during the COVID-19 pandemic is a democratic communication pattern.
