Abstract

The principle of lifelong citizenship plays a crucial role in fostering citizens' ecological awareness and responsibility in the digital age. This study aims to integrate lifelong citizenship values through podcast technology in ecological citizenship learning. The research method employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, implemented in the Wetland Environmental Citizenship course in the Civics Study Program at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. Respondents comprised four lecturers and 12 students, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis, and validated using source triangulation and member checking. Data analysis was conducted interactively through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that using podcast media provides flexibility, creativity, and active student involvement in critically understanding citizenship and environmental issues. Podcast-based learning strengthens students' character as reflective, participatory, and sustainable ecological citizens, which aligns with the principle of lifelong citizenship.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the integration of Pancasila values through the traditional game Pecah Piring as a reflective pedagogical approach in Civic Education at the junior high school level. The background of this study stems from the weak practice of Pancasila values among students, as well as the dominance of cognitive and theoretical learning in Civic Education. The research used a qualitative approach with a reflective study design. Data were collected through learning observations, student reflection journals, and teacher field notes, then analysed using reflective thematic analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the Pecah Piring game not only creates a fun and participatory learning experience, but also facilitates the process of internalising Pancasila values. Student reflections show a shift from mere involvement in play to an awareness of values, such as honesty and religiosity, discipline and justice, solidarity and cooperation, deliberation and democracy, as well as responsibility and sportsmanship. These findings confirm that traditional games can function as an effective experience-based learning medium in connecting local wisdom with civic education. The novelty of this research lies in the interpretation of traditional games as a reflective pedagogical strategy to strengthen the internalisation of Pancasila values in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze civil servants’ readiness in facing the implementation of artificial intelligence in local government bureaucracy. The study focuses on civil servants’ capacity, digital literacy, technological competence, organizational culture, and bureaucratic resistance to AI-based transformation. This research uses a qualitative method with an exploratory-descriptive approach and conceptual framework development. Data were collected from secondary and documentary sources, including recent peer-reviewed journal articles, policy documents, institutional reports, regulatory materials, and scholarly works related to AI adoption, digital transformation, civil-service competence, public-sector innovation, organizational culture, and bureaucratic resistance. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis by classifying findings into digital literacy, technological competence, organizational culture, leadership support, bureaucratic resistance, ethical awareness, and institutional support. The findings show that AI implementation in local government depends not only on technological infrastructure, but also on civil servants’ ability to operate digital systems, interpret algorithmic recommendations, evaluate data quality, and maintain public accountability. The study also finds that bureaucratic resistance may arise from fear of job displacement, loss of authority, weak technical confidence, rigid work culture, and lack of training. The main contribution of this study is the formulation of a human-centered AI readiness framework consisting of digital literacy, technological competence, adaptive organizational culture, ethical awareness, and institutional support. This framework emphasizes that civil servants are the key actors of successful AI transformation in local government bureaucracy.

Abstract

The relevance of political thought during the Khulafaur Rasyidin era (Abu Bakar ash-Shiddiq, Umar bin Khattab, Utsman bin Affan, and Ali bin Abi Thalib) to contemporary politics. The study shows that the principles of government applied during that era, such as deliberation (shura'), social justice, and accountability of leaders are in line with the values of modern democracy. Through a qualitative approach and historical analysis, this study identifies how the concept of the Medina Charter and the leadership practices of the Khulafaur Rasyidin were able to become models of an egalitarian and participatory political system. The study reveals that despite the distortion of the political system into a dynastic monarchy in the following period, the basic values of the Khulafaur Rasyidin government remain relevant as an inspiration for contemporary Islamic politics. In the modern context, these principles have been adapted by various Muslim movements and thinkers to build a responsive and just system of government. This study concludes that the political thoughts of Khulafaur Rasyidin not only have historical value, but also make significant contributions to the development of a contemporary political system based on Islamic and democratic values. Keywords: Khulafaur Rasyidin, Islamic Politics, Leadership, Justice.

Abstract

Perennialism encompasses fundamental concepts that significantly influence Islamic religious education. This study examines perennialism as a philosophical framework and its contributions to Islamic education. This study examines the concepts of significant perennialist thinkers such as Seyyed Hossein Nasr, Frithjof Schuon, and Ananda Coomaraswamy through a qualitative literature review. The findings indicate that perennialism emphasises the universality of spiritual truth, the integration of divine knowledge, and the significance of tradition in Islamic education. This approach prioritises the development of inner spirituality and moral values over contemporary secular education. The study posits that Islamic education must revise its curriculum to align with perennialist concepts.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examined the association between Academic Competency Test-Based Mathematics Learning (ACT-BML) and improvements in junior high school students’ mathematics achievement. The study was motivated by the implementation of Indonesia’s Academic Competency Test (ACT), which requires instructional approaches that align mathematics learning with standardized academic assessment. In addition, empirical evidence regarding the integration of ACT standards into classroom mathematics instruction remains limited. Method: A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The participants were 180 ninth-grade students from a junior high school in Langsa City, Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument consisted of 30 ACT-oriented mathematics achievement items that demonstrated satisfactory validity and reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.872). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a paired-samples t-test, normalized gain (N-Gain), and Cohen’s d effect size. Findings: The results indicated substantial improvement in students’ mathematics achievement following the implementation of ACT-BML. The mean score increased from 37.89 on the pretest to 91.04 on the posttest. The paired-samples t-test revealed a statistically significant difference between the two measurements, t(179) = 54.561, p < .001. Furthermore, the mean N-Gain score was 0.8511, indicating a high level of improvement, while Cohen’s d of 4.07 reflected a very large within-group effect. Significance: This study contributes empirical evidence to the emerging literature on integrating Academic Competency Test standards into mathematics instruction. The findings suggest that ACT-BML may serve as a promising assessment-aligned instructional approach for strengthening students’ mathematics achievement and academic readiness. Nevertheless, further studies employing more rigorous experimental designs are required to establish causal effectivenes.
