Abstract

The Qur’an is the primary source of Islamic teachings and serves as a guide for life and a foundation for the formation of human character. Reading the Qur’an is not only an act of worship but also a means of moral development, spiritual education, and personal growth based on divine values. However, recitation that attains true excellence must be accompanied by the proper etiquette as explained by Islamic scholars. This study aims to analyze the virtues and etiquette of reading the Qur’an and the role of both in shaping Muslim character. The method employed is a literature review by examining 15 scholarly sources in the form of journals and undergraduate theses. The results indicate that the virtues of reading the Qur’an lie not merely in the act of recitation, but also in reflection, practice, and the observance of proper etiquette. Reading the Qur’an with proper etiquette is able to shape Muslim character that is knowledgeable, morally upright, and responsible toward Qur’anic values.

Abstract

The gourami fish (Osphronemus gouramy) is a type of freshwater fish that is highly sought after by the public because it has the advantage of being easy to breed naturally, can survive in stagnant water, and has high economic value. Gourami fish measuring 2-3 cm have a mortality rate of 50-70%, one of the causes being feed quality. Gourami fish measuring 2-3 cm can consume natural and commercial feed. Commercial feed has many advantages, including complete and balanced nutritional composition and consistent availability throughout the year. One important element of feed management is feed dosage. Overfeeding can pollute the aquatic environment, while underfeeding can cause malnutrition, thereby inhibiting growth. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replicates. The treatments in this study were the provision of commercial feed at different dosages. Treatment A: 2% of the biomass weight of the test animals; Treatment B: 5% of the biomass weight of the test animals; Treatment C: 8% of the biomass weight of the test animals; Treatment D: 11% of the biomass weight of the test animals; and Treatment E: 14% of the biomass weight of the test animals. Test animals used were 2-3 cm long gurami fish with an average weight of 0.2 g/fish, stocking density of 2 fish/L, and the experimental medium used was fresh water with a volume of 3 L/container. The results showed that treatment C gave the best results for the absolute weight growth of 2-3 cm long gurami fish, which was 0.42 g/fish. Water quality data obtained showed that the water temperature ranged from 26.1 to 27.9°C, the acidity level ranged from 7.0 to 7.9, and the dissolved oxygen ranged from 5.29 to 5.67 ppm.

Abstract

This study discusses the application of the theory of at-ta‘līl bil ḥikmah as the foundational basis in the formulation of DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 123/DSN-MUI/XI/2018 concerning Funds That Cannot Be Recognized as Income (TBDSP). Employing a normative qualitative method and an uṣūl al-fiqh approach grounded in at-ta‘līl bil ḥikmah, the study explores how ḥikmah (wisdom) serves as the primary rationale in legal determination, shifting away from the dominance of the traditional ‘illah-based reasoning. This theory emphasizes justice, utility, balance, ethics, and ease as integral dimensions in formulating legal rulings that are both relevant and adaptive. The findings demonstrate that the DSN-MUI fatwa on TBDSP not only fulfills the normative requirements of Islamic law but also provides contextual solutions that address the realities of the modern economic environment. By channeling non-halal funds toward social purposes, such as mosque construction and scholarships, the fatwa ensures legal protection, moral integrity, and public welfare. Consequently, the at-ta‘līl bil ḥikmah approach represents a vital methodological foundation for developing fatwas that are both responsive to contemporary changes and firmly rooted in Islamic legal principles.

Abstract

Affiliate marketing practices on TikTok Shop have grown rapidly as a social media–based digital marketing strategy. In this system, affiliates promote merchants’ products through digital content and earn commissions from successful transactions. Despite its economic benefits, this practice raises issues within Islamic economic law, particularly regarding the determination of the appropriate contractual framework (akad). This study aims to analyze the conformity of affiliate marketing practices on TikTok Shop with the principles of samsarah (brokerage) and wakalah bil ujrah (agency with fee) as regulated in Fatwa No.151/DSN-MUI/VI/2022 issued by the Dewan Syariah Nasional Majelis Ulama Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Primary data were obtained through non-participant observation of affiliate activities, including promotional content, affiliate links, commission schemes, and program policies within the application. Secondary data were derived from DSN-MUI fatwas, classical fiqh literature, and previous studies. The findings indicate that affiliate marketing constitutes a hybrid contract combining samsarah and wakalah bil ujrah. However, clearer role representation is necessary to ensure alignment with Islamic principles of justice, transparency, and trustworthiness

Abstract

Early marriage is a growing phenomenon in many countries, including countries with a Muslim majority. In the perspective of Islamic law, marriage is a part of worship that is highly valued, but there are provisions that must be considered so as not to harm the parties involved, especially in the context of early marriage. One approach used to assess whether early marriage is permitted or not in Islamic law is through the concept of maslahat mursalat, which is an effort to achieve public welfare that is not explicitly regulated in the Shari'a, but can be taken based on the goals and basic principles of Islam. This paper aims to analyze the application of the concept of maslahat mursalat in the context of early marriage, as well as its implications for the implementation of Islamic law. This study includes an analysis of the social, economic, and health impacts associated with early marriage, and discusses how Islamic law assesses young marriage by considering maslahat and mudarat (benefits and disadvantages). This study also seeks to examine how the orientation of maslahat mursalat can help align Islamic law with the needs of today's society, amidst the challenges of early marriage that often ignore the emotional, social, and physical readiness of individuals. The results of this study indicate that from the perspective of maslahat mursalat, early marriage is only permitted if it meets the criteria of greater welfare and does not bring harm to the parties involved. In addition, policy recommendations regarding early marriage need to consider various factors that support individual welfare, including education, mental readiness, and social and economic support. Therefore, the implementation of early marriage must be carried out carefully and wisely, ensuring that it does not violate the basic principles of Islamic law which emphasize the welfare of humanity.

Abstract

The rapid digitalization of work has intensified technostress and heightened the risk of digital burnout, particularly in knowledge-intensive and technology-driven organizations. Drawing on the Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) model, this article develops and tests a conceptual framework in which technostress operates as a key job demand, digital burnout as a central health-impairment outcome, and a bundle of strategic human resource management (HRM) job resources—framed as “techno-recovery” resources—buffers these effects. Techno-recovery resources are defined as integrated organizational, social, and technological practices that support psychological detachment, digital boundary control, and recovery from technology-driven strain. Using a quantitative survey design among employees in digitally intensive organizations, the study proposes the use of structural equation modeling to test the mediating role of digital burnout between technostress and outcomes (work engagement and turnover intention), and the moderating role of techno-recovery resources within the JD-R framework. While the empirical patterns are presented conceptually for illustrative purposes, the model is grounded in prior evidence on technostress, recovery experiences, and HRM in digital contexts. The article contributes by (1) positioning technostress and techno-recovery within an extended JD-R model, (2) specifying strategic HRM levers to reduce digital burnout, and (3) offering a measurement framework for future empirical work in emerging economies

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of horror stories from conventional forms to participatory multimedia narrative experiences on YouTube, using a case study of the video titled "Shayangan Pulang" by Nadia Omara. The main focus is to identify the application of rhetorical elements, Storytelling techniques, and YouTube's role in supporting digital narratives. Using a qualitative case study approach, data was obtained through content analysis of verbal, visual, and audio elements, as well as audience reception in the comments section. The analysis was conducted using Aristotle's rhetorical framework (ethos, pathos, and logos) as well as the theories of digital Storytelling and media convergence. The research findings indicate that pathos is the most dominant element, manifested through gripping sound effects, vocal modulation, dramatic pauses, and a non-linear structure to evoke fear. Ethos & Logos credibility is built through a consistent narrator persona (ethos), while the logic of the storyline is maintained despite the supernatural theme (logos). The Role of YouTube: Interactivity features and participatory culture significantly strengthen the audience's emotional and social engagement. This research demonstrates that integrating classical rhetoric with digital techniques can create an immersive horror experience and enhance audience engagement in digital media.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools shape students' character through intensive education, exemplary leadership (uswah hasanah), religious practices, and comprehensive moral development. This study analyzes the moral education models in two types of Pesantrens, encompassing guidance systems, implementation factors, and the internalisation of spiritual values. Employing a qualitative ethnographic approach, data were gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation. The analysis followed the stages of data condensation, display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through triangulation. The findings reveal that: (1) The moral education model instills adab (etiquette), piety, and responsibility through worship, spiritual guidance, and social habituation grounded in the Quran and Hadith. (2) The educational process—comprising ritual worship, Quranic memorization, classical text (Kitab Kuning) studies, and methods such as exemplary behavior, counseling, and dialogue—plays a pivotal role in fostering discipline and deepening spiritual understanding. (3) The outcomes demonstrate significant positive behavioral shifts, including enhanced politeness, spiritual awareness, independence, and empathy. (4) Implementation is supported by routine worship and a conducive environment, though challenged by educator coordination gaps and external cultural influences via technology. (5) Comparative analysis indicates that while traditional (Salafiyah) Pesantrens focus heavily on adab and classical texts, modern Pesantrens integrate moral values systematically into the broader curriculum. Both models effectively cultivate religious character through discipline, respect, and social concern.
