Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of group investigation learning strategies and expository learning strategies on historical learning outcomes, the effect of vertical and lateral thinking styles on historical learning outcomes, and the influence of the interaction between learning strategies and thinking styles on historical learning outcomes. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a 2x2 factorial version of the pretest posttest nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects were students of class XI at three public high schools in Sigi Regency who were selected by the cluster random sampling method. Subjects were involved as many as 112 people who were divided into six classes. The research data were collected using thinking style instruments and learning outcomes tests and hypothesis testing was carried out at the 5% significance level. The results showed the following findings: 1) descriptively, the group investigation learning strategy was superior to the expository learning strategy in increasing the learning outcomes of history; 2) the student group has a vertical thinking style, has superior historical learning outcomes compared to the student group who has a lateral thinking style; and 3) there is an interaction effect between learning strategies and thinking styles on historical learning outcomes. The results of this study informed that the group investigation learning strategy had a significant effect on history learning outcomes depending on students' thinking styles.

Abstract

Implementation of the 2013 curriculum in elementary schools is applied using a thematic approach. The provision of teaching materials for teachers is one aspect that must be fulfilled by the government and it is still inadequate. This study aims to develop thematic teaching materials for teacher companion with a webbed model. The procedure for developing teaching materials uses the ADDIE development model which includes five stages, namely: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The thematic model used to design teaching materials is the Spider Web Model or the Webbed Model. The data collected aims to see the feasibility of the product as teaching material and field trials in the learning class. The questionnaire data came from content / material experts, media experts, design experts, colleagues, and 24 students. The data analysis technique is descriptive. The results of the review of the feasibility of development products are as follows: 1) Review of Indonesian language education content / material experts by 95%, review of mathematics education experts by 98%, reviews of learning media experts state the suitability of the media used by development, and reviews of instructional design experts by 85% . Product trials with students and student responses through questionnaires get very good responses. So it can be concluded that the product that has been developed is suitable for use as a teacher companion book in teaching. Suggestions for using this product are that educators develop innovative ideas so that various themes can be developed according to student needs and the availability of a learning environment at school. This teaching material product can be used as an example for educators to develop their own teaching materials.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the differences in the understanding of the comparison concept in groups of students who take realistic mathematics learning through the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) and Learning Cycle Model (LCM) strategies. It also examines the differences in the understanding of comparison concept between groups of students who have Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD) Cognitive Style. Lastly, it examines whether there is an interaction between learning strategies and Cognitive Style towards the students’ understanding of the concept of comparison. This study uses quasi-experimental research design, with 2x2 factorial design pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. Data analysis uses two-way ANOVA by utilizing SPSS statistical software version 22 for windows. The subjects of this study were 53 seventh-grade students of Islamic junior high school (MTs) Azzainabiyah Pramian Sampang Madura, consisting of 2 classes (experimental class and control class) with non-random assignment. The instrument used in this study is the Cognitive Style test called GEFT (Group Embedded Figure Test) and learning outcomes test. The results of this study indicate that there is no difference in the understanding of the concept of comparison in groups of students who take realistic mathematics learning through CPS and LCM strategies. There is a difference in the understanding of the concept of comparison between groups of students who have FI and FD cognitive style. There is no interaction between the strategy of learning with the cognitive style possessed by students towards the understanding of the concept of comparison.

Abstract

Nowadays, the development of science and technology have been rapidly developed, including education. To produce learning tools, namely the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) , learning materials, Student Worksheets (LKS), and vector quiz materials based on E-Learning for students of Class X MIPA are the objectives of this study. This product is designed to provide wider opportunities for students without having to limit the time (hours) of learning in class. The development of learning tools in this study is based on the theory of the development of the 4-D, namely; defining. design; development, and dissemination, which in this study the dissemination stage was not carried out. It is necessary to adjust the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) on vector material based on e-learning for students of Class X MIPA
