Abstract

This article investigates how compensation to hospitality industries has been conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using documentary study, the writers made use of Google scholar and the Garuda portal database to collect data. Some primary keywords were employed to search relevant published articles such as compensation in a hotel during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study finds that hotel owners modified policies by giving only 50% of their salary. Meanwhile, the government covers another 50% of financial support to help the employees. Applying for compensation with support, promotion, and money will motivate employees to work. For the consumers, hotels lowered the price of the rooms. In addition, hotels also paid very careful attention to sanity issues and hotel service quality. It turns out that these adapted compensation policies have resulted in positive impacts on employees and consumers.

Abstract

Digital transformation has radically changed how organizations operate and challenged the validity of classical theoretical approaches that have long dominated organizational studies. This article aims to examine the evolution of organizational behavior paradigms by tracing the contributions of classical theories, behavioral dynamics in digital environments, and the conceptual transition toward hybrid organizational models. The study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach guided by PRISMA, analyzing 21 scholarly articles from reputable journals published in the last five years. The synthesis results indicate that classical theories remain relevant as a foundation for structural stability but must be integrated with principles of flexibility and digital learning to meet the needs of contemporary organizations. The hybrid conceptual model developed in this study represents a significant theoretical contribution in bridging the dichotomy between classical and digital approaches. Furthermore, this article proposes a future research agenda through cross-sectoral approaches and capability-based integration. The main contribution of this study lies in formulating a conceptual framework that reconciles structural efficiency with digital innovation in modern organizational behavior

Abstract

Advances in digital technology have transformed the way organizations make decisions. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data Analytics (BDA) are now key foundations for improving the effectiveness of strategic and operational decisions. This study examines the contribution of AI and BDA to the effectiveness of organizational decision-making through a Systematic Literature Review approach with the PRISM protocol. A total of 20 articles from Scopus published in 2020–2025 were analyzed descriptively, thematically, and through content analysis. The results show that AI accelerates, directs, and improves decision fairness, while BDA strengthens data-driven accuracy and prediction. The integration of the two forms an adaptive and intelligent decision-making system. These findings emphasize the relevance of dynamic capability and absorptive capacity theories, as well as the importance of infrastructure readiness, analytical competency, and technology governance within organizations. This study contributes theoretically and provides strategic direction for organizations in the digital transformation process of their decision-making.

Abstract

The VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) era has fundamentally reshaped the organizational landscape, necessitating adaptive and responsive employee motivation strategies. This study aims to identify and analyze the key determinants of employee motivation and effective organizational strategies in navigating the dynamics of the VUCA environment. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on the PRISMA 2020 protocol, 25 peer-reviewed articles indexed in Scopus (2019–2024) were analyzed thematically and narratively. The findings indicate that employee motivation is shaped by five core dimensions: psychological conditions and job expectations, agile leadership, adaptive organizational culture, continuous learning, and coaching. Effective organizational strategies include empowerment, value-based incentives, a collaborative culture, and the integration of motivation theories into human resource policies. This study extends the applicability of classical motivation theories within contemporary organizational contexts and offers practical guidance for designing work systems that are human-centric, flexible, and sustainable. The findings emphasize the importance of integrated and contextually grounded motivation strategies in reinforcing organizational resilience amid global uncertainty.

Abstract

Work motivation is defined as a state of individual personality that fosters a desire to carry out certain activities in order to achieve the expected goals. For this reason, this research (SLR) was conducted to analyze the findings from data in the form of scientific journals regarding work motivation. SLR in this study was carried out using the prism method with the help of bibliometric tools as an analytical tool. Data collection is done by determining the database or data source: ScienceDirect, Taylor and Francis, Elsevier, Emeral, and SAGE. As such, 45 articles were analyzed in this systematic review process. This finding shows that the co-authorship collaboration of each author has a relationship with each other in conducting research related to work motivation. Co-occurrence (network visualization) was found in the displays described in the network visualization. These results indicate that there are many variations in the relationship between work motivation and other problems that can be explored and developed further in the context of work motivation. Co-occurrence (overlay visualization) results show that the bluer the keyword cluster, the longer the research time has been carried out, while the yellower the keyword cluster, the more recent the research.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of flexible work arrangements (FWA) and job autonomy (JA) on job performance (JP), examining work engagement (WE) as a mediating variable. The research was conducted among permanent production employees at PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia, Tbk in Indonesia, using a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that JA has a positive and significant influence on JP, both directly and indirectly through WE. However, FWA does not have a significant direct influence on JP but indirectly affects JP through WE. These findings highlight the importance of JA in enhancing intrinsic motivation and performance, as well as the role of WE in connecting job resources with performance outcomes. The study emphasizes the need to balance flexibility with structure in job design to optimize employee engagement and performance in a manufacturing environment.
