Abstract

This study examines the significance of the paths: (1) from social support to career adaptability, (2) from work value to career adaptability, (3) from self-esteem to career adaptability, (4) from social support to career adaptability via self-esteem, and (5) from work value to career adaptability via self-esteem. A total of 265 students from the Faculty of Education Universitas Negeri Malang who participated in the Asistensi Mengajar (AM) Program were selected using a simple random sampling technique. Four instruments were used to collect data: the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS), the Work Value Inventory (WVI), the Self-Esteem Scale, and the Social Support Scale. The data were analysed using path analysis. The findings revealed that all paths have significance values below 0.05, indicating that all proposed paths are acceptable.  The analysis also shows that work value has a direct effect on self-esteem, with a coefficient of 0.160, while social support exhibits a more substantial direct effect on self-esteem, with a coefficient of 0.412. Self-esteem directly influences career adaptability with a coefficient of 0.435. Indirectly, work value impacts career adaptability via self-esteem with a coefficient of 0.070, and social support influences career adaptability via self-esteem with a coefficient of 0.179. The total effects of work value and social support on career adaptability via self-esteem were calculated to be 0.230 and 0.591, respectively. These results suggest that social support has a more pronounced total effect on career adaptability compared to work value, primarily due to its stronger direct effect on self-esteem. The study underscores the critical role of self-esteem as a mediator in enhancing career adaptability through social support and work values.

Abstract

The lack of empathy shown by counselors towards their clients is a significant concern, as it can create discomfort and make clients reluctant to talk. To enhance empathy skills, it is essential to consider cultural aspects, one of which is drawing inspiration from the virtues contained in Serat Wedharaga to enrich the empathy abilities of prospective counselors. This study used a qualitative approach with a hermeneutic design, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation steps. The findings from the analysis of Serat Wedharaga have the potential to significantly contribute to improving counselor empathy. The study identified values such as humility, honesty, a learning spirit, responsibility, polite language, and perseverance. The main aspects of empathy, including social interaction, cognitive behavior, and emotional identification, were integrable with these values. For example, the values of humility and honesty in Serat Wedharaga support good communication skills in terms of social interaction. Similarly, the text’s spirit of learning and responsibility supports the understanding and imagination of others' views and perspectives in cognitive behavior. Additionally, the values of polite language and perseverance in Serat Wedharaga support the ability to feel and understand others' emotions in terms of emotional identification. These findings provide an essential basis for developing aspects of empathy that can be integrated with the concept of empathy, which can later be applied to enrich the guidance and counseling curriculum, including adding an empathy development course for prospective counselors.

Resilience is the strength or endurance of a person to face, overcome, and become stronger when encountering problems. One method to enhance student resilience is educational cinema. The purpose of this developmental research was to create a product in the form of a guide for school counselors that can assist in improving student resilience. This guide is intended to be acceptable and meet the standard evaluation criteria of utility, feasibility, appropriateness, suitability, and attractiveness, and to produce an effective student resilience enhancement counseling model using the educational cinema method. The outcome of this research is a student resilience enhancement counseling model utilizing educational cinema techniques. This model has undergone a material expert evaluation phase, receiving a total score of 128 with an average of 3.76 and a percentage of 94%. This indicates that the product is highly valid and very suitable for use. The product design expert evaluation yielded a total score of 96.5, with an average of 3.86 and a percentage of 96%, suggesting that the product is highly valid and very suitable for use. Finally, the assessment from potential product users (Counselors) resulted in a total score of 117 with an average of 3.9 and a percentage of 97%, signifying that the product is highly valid and very suitable for use

Abstract

Technological advances make it easier for teenagers to access potentially damaging content, such as pornography, which has a negative impact on their mental and social health. For this reason, media or tools for early detection of pornographic behavior among teenagers are very important, especially for guidance and counseling teachers in providing appropriate services for students. This study aims to test the validity of the e-booklet-based Early Detection of Pornography (EDP) instrument. The research method used was quantitative with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) carried out on 97 grade 9 students of SMP Negeri 1 Wagir, through quota sampling. The validity of the instrument was assessed by experts, and construct validity was tested through CFA using Jamovi software. The results show adequate fit index values (CFI=0.902, RMSEA=0.0896), with high reliability (Cronbach's α=0.855). This instrument has consistent good results and is able to detect early pornographic behavior among teenagers. With high validity and reliability results, it is hoped that this e-booklet-based EDP instrument will be useful for guidance and counseling teachers for early detection of pornographic behavior among teenagers

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the educational quality of Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) curriculum, alongside the competency of students and the satisfaction level of the framework partners. An exploratory and descriptive approach was employed, involving students and partners associated with MBKM during the semester 2021/2022 academic session. This group comprised 189 students, with 3 university associates, and 8 non-university partners. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire provided by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Analysis, and Technology, and subjected to simple regression analysis. The results showed that MBKM implementation met the quality standards encompassing education, array, community engagement, and additional criteria as specified in SN-DIKTI. This indicated a positive connection between the competency of students and the satisfaction of MBKM partners. Therefore, this study observed that MBKM implementation successfully achieved the education quality criteria for graduate competency.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the level of parental knowledge regarding the Gluten-Free Sugar-Free (GFSF) diet and to identify the various challenges they face in its implementation for children with special needs. Using a quantitative survey approach, data were collected from 48 participating parents. Results showed that 50% of respondents had a high level of knowledge about the GFSF diet, 37.5% had moderate knowledge, and 12.5% had basic knowledge. No respondents had low knowledge. However, all respondents (100%) reported experiencing significant challenges in implementing the GFSF diet, including difficulties in accessing food ingredients, costs, and lack of practical knowledge. These findings indicate the need for more targeted interventions to support parents in overcoming these challenges, including improving the accessibility and affordability of GFSF products and providing educational programs tailored to their specific needs. This study provides important insights for developing effective strategies to support the health and well-being of children with special needs through the GFSF diet.

Abstract

Moral intelligence is the ability to differentiate between right and wrong, create exact choices, and behave ethically according to applicable norms and rules. This development is purposed to produce a moral intelligence inventory. This method applies Borg and Gall development model. The population of this research is students of junior high schools in Malang. Indeed, the sampling is decided through cluster random sampling, wherein 300 students were selected as the research sample. The data are analyzed using Product Moment Pearson analysis, Alpha Cronbach, normality test, and factor analysis. This development draws on a moral intelligence inventory product for junior high school students in Malang, which consists of 45 statement items. These met the criteria of moral intelligence inventory, validity test, and reliability test on a high scale with a 0.907 coefficient. Future research is suggested to improve moral intelligence inventory for elementary, senior high school, and vocational school students. They considered that these levels' development, age maturity, and learning process differ from junior high school. Additionally, the following researchers are expected to employ other theories that discuss moral intelligence to assist students in finding out their moral intelligence level. Keywords: Moral intelligence, vocational school, students.
