Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out of salinity towards electric power produced by salt water power plants as a renewable alternative electrical energy. Tool and materials used in this research were the AVO meter, pliers, copper plate, aluminium plate, ruler, measuring cups, balance analitik, salt meter, salt, copper plate, aluminum plate, cable and glass. The procedure of this study was preparing tools and materials, then making an electrochemical cell as much as 2 pairs of electrochemical cells and a container of water and salt using glass with 2 liter volume of water, making the series circuit copper plate and aluminum, making a solution of water and salt, then testing the power of salt water as a source alternative energy using AVO meter. The parameters measured in this study was a large electric potential and strong currents are able to produce brine with amounts of salt variety 25 g, 50 g, 75 g, 100 g, 125 g, 150 g, 175 g, 200 g and 225 g, done to provide different salinity. After testing the brine into alternative energy sources, large power obtained on the salinity 74% or with mass of salt 175 g which produce the power that is equal to 0058 watts, while the value of the lowest power contained in the salinity of 7% or the mass of salt 25 g, where only capable to produce the electric power amounting of 0,011 Watt. To turn on the LED lamp 1.5 W using electrochemical cells method can be done by making the cells as much as 20 cells with a volume of 2,000 ml of water and salt mixed with 175 g of salt with a salt content of 74%. Using 20 pairs of aluminum and copper electrode cell where each electrode measuring 3 cm x 6 cm.Keywords: Brine, electrochemical cells, salinity and power.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine how the media influence of NaCl and H2SO4 / water against corrosion rate of low carbon steel coated with zinc by the method of Hot Dip Galvanizing. Research method is done by making a specimen of low carbon steel pipes circular, angled, and plate. Then the zinc coating process performed by the method of Hot Dip Galvanizing at a temperature of 500oC. Then do step corrosion testing with media H2SO4 and NaCl for 24 days and the data taken during the study. The results of the study that after a coating of zinc (Zn) on low carbon steel with Hot Dip Galvanizing method of specimen data obtained circle, the average rate of corrosion with H2SO4 media: Water is 5,529.10-7 gr/min. While in NaCl media, the average corrosion rate is 26,833.10-7 gr/min. An increase in the corrosion rate of 79.58%. On the specimen form elbow, the average rate of corrosion with H2SO4 media: Water only 2,0377.10-7 gr/min. In contrast, if using media NaCl, occur on average corrosion rate of 21,692.10-7 gr/min. Tests on specimens plat form, the average rate of corrosion in H2SO4 media: Water is 6,299.10-7 gr/min. Then the media NaCl average corrosion rate is 28,25.10-7 gr/min. The corrosion rate by using H2SO4 media: Water occurs in the form of the specimen plate is 6,299.10-7 gr/min, and 28,25.10-7 gr/min in NaCl media. Keyword : low carbon steel, zinc, galvanizing, corrosion, H2SO4, NaCl ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh media NaCl dan H2SO4/Air  terhadap laju korosi pada baja karbon rendah yang dilapisi seng dengan metode Hot Dip Galvanizing. Metode peneliatian yang dilakukan dengan membuat spesimen dari pipa baja karbon rendah berbentuk lingkaran, siku, dan plat. Lalu dilakukan proses pelapisan seng dengan metode Hot Dip Galvanizing pada suhu 500oC. Lalu dilakukan langkah pengujian korosi dengan media H2SO4 dan NaCl selama 24 hari dan diambil data selama penelitian. Hasil penelitian bahwa setelah dilakukan pelapisan seng (Zn) pada baja karbon rendah dengan metode Hot Dip Galvanizing diperoleh data spesimen lingkaran, rata-rata laju korosi dengan media H2SO4:Air adalah 5,529.10-7 gr/menit. Sedangkan pada media NaCl, rata-rata laju korosinya adalah 26,833.10-7 gr/menit. Terjadi peningkatan laju korosi sebesar 79,58%. Pada bentuk spesimen siku, rata-rata laju korosi dengan media H2SO4:Air hanya 2,0377.10-7 gr/menit. Berbeda jika menggunakan media NaCl, terjadi rata-rata laju korosi sebesar 21,692.10-7 gr/menit. Pengujian pada bentuk spesimen plat, rata-rata laju korosi pada media H2SO4:Air adalah 6,299.10-7 gr/menit. Lalu pada media NaCl rata-rata laju korosinya adalah 28,25.10-7 gr/menit. Laju korosi terbesar dengan menggunakan media H2SO4:Air terjadi pada bentuk spesimen plat yaitu 6,299.10-7 gr/menit, dan 28,25.10-7 gr/menit pada media NaCl.Kata kunci :  Baja karbon rendah,  zinc, galvanizing, korosi, H2SO4, dan NaCl

Abstract

Indonesia has abundant sources of solar energy with an average solar radiation intensity of about 4.8 kWh/m2 per day throughout Indonesia because it is located at the equator 6°N to 11°N and 9°E-141°E. That way the sun's energy that is not used up can be utilized. The purpose of this study is to determine the heat used by the collector for the desorption process and to determine the effect of variations in the angle of inclination of the collector on the efficiency of the collector. That way, one of them can be used for the water cooling process using a solar collector device on a solar heat adsorption cycle cooling machine The purpose of this study was to determine the heat used by the collector for the desorption process and to determine the effect of variations in the collector tilt angle on the efficiency of the collector. This research was conducted by varying the slope of the cooling machine collector with an adsorption cycle using solar energy. The test results show that the average theoretical useful heat at the collector (Qu) obtained by the 0° angle collector is 236,079 Watt, the 15° angle collector (from 08.00 – 15.30) is 131.683 Watt, and the 30° angle collector (from 08.00 – 16.00) is 179.638 Watt. on each test day. The average efficiency (η) from 08.00 – 15.30 (optimal measurement) obtained by the 0° angle collector is 51.296%, the 15° collector angle is 47.1%, and for the 30° angle collector the average efficiency is from 08.00 – 16.00 (optimal measurement) of 52.836%.Keywords: collector, adsorption, temperature.

Dinas Pekerjaan Umum hidrolik pengangkat loader adalah 109.295.403 N. Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the shaft design, knowing the pulleys and belts to be used and to determine the design of the blade of the cassava chopper machine. The procedure in the design of cassava chopper by using autocad is to prepare the tools and materials to be used; Power planning by calculating the total moment of inertia, calculating the acceleration of the motor, calculating the speed of the rotation angle; Axle planning by calculating the torque moment, calculating the allowable shear stress, calculating the shaft diameter and calculating the shear stress received; Belt and Puli planning is calculating the linear velocity of the belt and calculating the length of the belt and the planning of the Blade which is calculating the compressive strength, calculating the shear strength and calculating each blade style then drawing a cassava chopper. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion in this study it can be concluded that the driving motor power in cassava delivery is 0.698 kW, the shear stress that occurs on the shaft is 1.648 N/mm2, the required belt length is 1513.409 mm with distance axle axis 634.689 mm and compressive strength on the slicing knife are 1.206 N with shear stress 0.0038 N/mm2.Keywords: Twisting moment, shear stress, power, drive motor, shaft, pulley, belt.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of variations in the large diameter alternator pulley current and voltage generated at a predetermined speed and compare the rotation each alternator pulley diameter used are 63, 68, and 78 mm. The research method used in this research is by measuring the amperage and voltage output of the alternator in every rotation in 1000, 1300, 1600, 1900, 2200, 2500, and 2800 rpm. Measurements were performed 3 times and be averaged. So this pulley diameter variation testing on  diameter pulley 68 mm can be used for an alternative, but with that will not long last because the examiner did not measure the temperature of the heat contained in rotor coil and the stator coil. At low rpm, diameter pulley of 78 mm issued a voltage of 13.3 V and 12 A, at average rpm show alternator output 14.1 V and 14.5 V at high speed on a steady current of 10 A. Pulley diameter 68 mm, from the low rpm on the voltmeter reads voltage of 13.4 V, 10 A, average rpm being read 14.2 V and high rpm 14, 7 V. A 63 mm diameter pulley low rpm voltmeter output is 13.8 V, average rpm was 14.3 V and 15.1 V. Keywords : Conventional charging system, pulley, regulator ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi diameter pully alternator terhadap besar arus dan tegangan yang dihasilkan pada kecepatan yang telah ditentukan dan mengetahui perbandingan putaran masing-masing diameter pully alternator yang digunakan yaitu 63, 68, dan 78 mm. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan mengukur ampere dan tegangan output dari alternator dalam setiap putaran 1000, 1300, 1600, 1900, 2200, 2500, dan 2800 rpm. Pengukuran dilakukan sebanyak 3 kali dan diambil rata-ratanya. Maka dari pengujian variasi diameter pully ini pada diameter pully 68 mm bisa digunakan untuk alternatif, tapi dengan syarat bahwa tidak akan tahan lama dikarenakan penguji tidak mengukur suhu panas yang terdapat pada rotor coil dan stator coil. Diameter pully 78 mm pada putaran rendah mengeluarkan tegangan 13,3 V, dan 12 A, putaran sedang output alternator terbaca 14,1 V dan pada putaran tinggi 14,5 V pada arus stabil 10A. Diameter pully 68 mm, dari putaran rendah tegangan pada voltmeter 13,4 V, 10 A, putaran sedang terbaca 14,2 V dan putaran tinggi 14,7 V. Keluran ampere tetap stabil 10 A. Diameter pully 63 mm putaran rendah voltmeter terbaca 13,8 V, putaran sedang 14,3 V dan putaran tinggi 15,1 V, dengan amperemeter terbaca 10 A. Kata kunci : system pengisian konvensional, pully, regulator

Abstract

Komposit dihasilkan dari pencampuran dalam sejumlah fase yang terdiri dari 2 bagian utama yaitu matriks (sebagai pelindung filler) dan filler (sebagai penguat dari matriks). Material komposit polyester yang diperkuat partikel clay telah dikembangkan dalam penggunaan dibidang kontruksi seperti genteng. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh komposisi dan putaran pengaduk clay dan resin polyester terhadap kekerasan dan tegangan bending untuk aplikasi genteng. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Material dan Teknologi Mekanik Jurusan Teknik Mesin Fakultas Teknik Universitas Halu Oleo. Bahan yang digunakan adalah clay sebagai partikel dan resin polyester sebagai penguat. Dalam penelitian ini komposisi resin polyester dan clay yang digunakan adalah 95:5%, 90:10% dan 85:15% sedangkan untuk putaran yang gunakan yaitu 762 Rpm, 944 Rpm dan 1066 Rpm. Pengujian spesimen dibuat berdasarkan standar ASTM pengujian kekerasan dan tegangan bending. Hasil pengujian menujukan bahwa, nilai kekerasan maksimum komposit terdapat pada komposisi 5% clay dengan kecepatan putar 1066 Rpm. Sedangkan untuk nilai tegangan bending maksimum terdapat pada komposit komposisi 5%  clay dengan kecepatan putar 1066 Rpm. Kata kunci : Clay, Polyester, Komposit, Kekerasan dan Bending.

Abstract

The  purpose  of  this  research  is  to  know  the  comparison  of  fuel  (oil  fuel) pyrolysis results using LPG heaters (Liquid Petroleum Gas) and electricity. In this study using two pyrolysis tools, namely pyrolysis tools using gas and electrical heaters.  Materials used are plastic garbage types of HDPE, LDPE and PP as much as 500 grams. The results of this study showed the value of the  density  of  pyrolysis  tools  using  gas  heaters  of  790.6  Kg/m³  for  HDPE plastic, 722.0 Kg/m³ for LDPE Plastics and 738.7 Kg/m³ for PP Plastics. As for the viscosity value of 0.7853 m²/s for HDPE plastic, 0.6771 m²/s for LDPE Plastics and 0.6159 m²/s for PP Plastics. For the value of density by using the electrical pyrolysis tools are 771.4 Kg/m³ for HDPE plastic, 743.1 Kg/m³ for LDPE Plastics and 768.3 Kg/m³ for PP Plastics. While the viscosity value is  obtained  at  0.7198  m²/s  for  HDPE  plastic,  0.7613  m²/s  for  LDPE  and 0.7054 m²/s for PP plastic. Keywords: Pyrolysis, comparison of pyrolysis tools, plastics

Abstract

Energy needs in Indonesia continue to increase every year. The largest use ofenergy is in the industrial sector, where its needs reach 42.12% of the totalnational energy needs. To save energy, energy saving measures are needed in theindustrial sector so that the increase in energy demand can be restrained. So weconducted research on the performance of the evaporator in a refrigerationmachine with an adsorption cycle using solar energy. The purpose of this studywas to determine the working process of the evaporator with activated carbonrefrigeration and to determine the efficiency of the evaporator in the activatedcarbon pair adsorption refrigeration system. This research was conducted byobserving and recording the evaporator temperature of the refrigeration machineevery hour. The results of the research in three days of testing, namely, on the firstday the highest evaporator temperature increase was at 16.00 o'clock, which was33.2oC and the lowest evaporator temperature was at 07.00 o'clock, which was 25.1 oC. On the second day, the highest increase in evaporator temperature was at 16.00, which was 32.2oC and the lowest evaporator temperature was at 07.00, which was 23.8 oC. On the third day, the highest increase in evaporator temperature was at 36.4 oC and the lowest evaporator temperature was at 06.00,which was 24.5 oC.Kata kunci: Adsorption, evaporator, temperature

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out of salinity towards electric power produced by salt water power plants as a renewable alternative electrical energy. Tool and materials used in this research were the AVO meter, pliers, copper plate, aluminium plate, ruler, measuring cups, balance analitik, salt meter, salt, copper plate, aluminum plate, cable and glass. The procedure of this study was preparing tools and materials, then making an electrochemical cell as much as 2 pairs of electrochemical cells and a container of water and salt using glass with 2 liter volume of water, making the series circuit copper plate and aluminum, making a solution of water and salt, then testing the power of salt water as a source alternative energy using AVO meter. The parameters measured in this study was a large electric potential and strong currents are able to produce brine with amounts of salt variety 25 g, 50 g, 75 g, 100 g, 125 g, 150 g, 175 g, 200 g and 225 g, done to provide different salinity. After testing the brine into alternative energy sources, large power obtained on the salinity 74% or with mass of salt 175 g which produce the power that is equal to 0058 watts, while the value of the lowest power contained in the salinity of 7% or the mass of salt 25 g, where only capable to produce the electric power amounting of 0,011 Watt. To turn on the LED lamp 1.5 W using electrochemical cells method can be done by making the cells as much as 20 cells with a volume of 2,000 ml of water and salt mixed with 175 g of salt with a salt content of 74%. Using 20 pairs of aluminum and copper electrode cell where each electrode measuring 3 cm x 6 cm.Keywords: Brine, electrochemical cells, salinity and power.
