Abstract

Abstract

Morality is part of the elements of structured cultural values. This study aims to describe the value of character education in the novel Matahari by Tere Liye as the relevance of literary learning in high school. This type of research uses a qualitative description with a content analysis approach. The data in the study is in the form of quotes of words, sentences, and paragraphs in the novel. The data source was obtained through Tere Liye's novel Matahari. The data collection technique in this study is document analysis that reflects the character values of Pancasila student profiles integrated through Lickona's theory. Data analysis techniques include reading, analysis, and recording. The data validity test was conducted through theoretical triangulation using the following analysis techniques. The results of this study reveal that the values of character education in the novel Matahari by Tere Liye reflect the value of character education of Pancasila student profiles, The values of character education are then integrated into the theory put forward by Lickona by covering three main dimensions; moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. In addition, the findings in this study also reveal that the character education values contained in the novel not only represent the ethical aspect but also reflect cultural values that are relevant to the context of character education in schools.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of Hifz an-Nafs (protection of life) in Islamic law and its relevance to the legal protection of children who are victims of sexual violence in Indonesia. Utilizing a qualitative-descriptive approach, the research compares Islamic legal norms with national legal frameworks, especially Law No. 35 of 2014 on Child Protection and Law No. 12 of 2022 on Sexual Violence Crimes. The findings indicate that although Hifz an-Nafs offers a holistic and moral-spiritual foundation for protecting the dignity and safety of children, its application in practice remains largely symbolic. In contrast, the implementation of national law, while structurally adequate, still suffers from exclusivity and access inequality. The study also identifies how social and ideological boundaries—such as religious conservatism, family honor, and community stigma—hinder victims’ access to justice and reinforce protection for perpetrators. These boundaries contribute to the fragmentation of communal protection mechanisms, weakening both legal enforcement and moral solidarity. This research emphasizes the need for an integrative model that combines Islamic ethical principles with the inclusiveness of modern legal systems to achieve effective and compassionate protection for children.

Abstract

HIGHLIGHTS The "TAMENG" flipchart significantly improved knowledge about anemia prevention among pregnant women. Nutritional status (mid-upper arm circumference) and history of anemia were strongly associated with anemia prevalence. Community-based, culturally relevant tools like the flipchart can effectively promote sustainable maternal health behaviors.   ABSTRACT Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the "TAMENG" flipchart as an educational tool to improve knowledge about anemia prevention among pregnant women in Sumber, Kabupaten Probolinggo, Indonesia, and to explore associated risk factors for anemia, including nutritional status and supplementation practices. Materials and Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted in August 2024 as part of Universitas Airlangga’s Community Service Program. Pregnant women attending antenatal care in Sumber, Kabupaten Probolinggo were recruited based on ANC attendance and availability of hemoglobin test results. The "TAMENG" flipchart, designed with culturally relevant visuals and content on anemia prevention, was implemented during interactive education sessions. Demographic data, obstetric histories, and pre- and post-test knowledge assessments were collected. Statistical analysis was performed using chi-square tests to identify significant associations between variables. Results: Among 65 participants, 35.38% were anemic. Significant factors associated with anemia included nutritional status (60.9% of anemic women had mid-upper arm circumference <23.5 cm; p = 0.019) and history of anemia (30.4% vs. 9.5%; p = 0.032). Knowledge scores significantly improved post-intervention for 90.5% of non-anemic women and 100% of anemic women. Employment status and supplementation practices showed notable trends but were not statistically significant. Conclusion: The "TAMENG" flipchart effectively increased knowledge and awareness about anemia prevention. Tailored interventions addressing nutritional deficiencies, supplementation adherence, and family involvement can enhance maternal health outcomes in rural communities.

Abstract

ABSTRACTTitle: Spatial Analysis of Malaria Transmission Dynamics  in the Highland Areas of Muara Enim RegencyBackground: Malaria remains one of the world's major health problems due to its potential vectors, with a total of 241 million cases in 2020 spread across 85 malaria-endemic countries, each with varying transmission dynamics. Muara Enim Regency was declared malaria-free in 2024, but research is still needed to analyze the spatial dynamics of malaria transmission in the regency to ensure the malaria-free status is maintained. Methods: This study used a survey method designed based on a geographic information system (GIS) and employed secondary data. The secondary data consisted of malaria cases from 2021–2023 in two subdistricts: Lawang Kidul and Tanjung Agung. Data were obtained from the Muara Enim Health Office, Tanjung Enim Community Health Center (Lawang Kidul Subdistrict), and Tanjung Agung Community Health Center. Results: Spatial analysis provided data on the distribution of malaria cases, mining areas, swamp areas, plantation areas, river flow areas, and vegetation (bushland). Based on this spatial analysis, areas with a concentration of malaria cases tend to be near swamps and rivers. This indicates a relationship between specific geographical conditions (wet and water-rich areas) and increased malaria cases, as these locations serve as potential habitats for malaria vector mosquitoes. Most of the area comprises plantations, followed by rice fields, swamps, and bushland. These vegetative areas can serve as breeding grounds for mosquitoes. From univariate spatial analysis, it was observed that regions with high case numbers are generally in lowland areas or areas with access to water sources like rivers and swamps. Conclusion: The primary dynamics of malaria cases in Muara Enim Regency are influenced by its status as a highland area. The study concluded that swamps and rivers pose risk factors for malaria transmission dynamics, highlighting the need for government anticipation to maintain the malaria elimination status.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology innovation has had a significant impact on the process of completing academic assignments, particularly in Arabic language learning in higher education. This study aims to examine students' perceptions of the use of AI technology in completing Arabic language assignments, using Davis's (1989) Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) theoretical framework, which focuses on two main indicators: perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. The research method used was a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design to explore students' experiences in depth. Data were obtained from nine purposively selected Master of Arabic Language Education students at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University of Malang, then collected through in-depth interviews and analysed thematically. The results showed that students felt that AI technology innovation was very helpful in completing assignments, especially in accelerating information access, compiling academic papers, and increasing learning efficiency. However, students were also aware of challenges in the form of potential dependency and the risk of declining critical thinking skills. The conclusion of this study confirms that AI innovation has great potential as an effective support for academic assignments, with the note that its use needs to be directed wisely and supported by strengthening technological literacy.

Abstract

Abstract

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is a new historical record for the Islamic world. For the first time since 1930, this most prestigious football match was held in the Islamic country, Qatar. The choice of Qatar as the host in the FIFA executive committee meeting has raised pros and cons since it was announced in 2010. But amid these pros and cons, the various positive reports regarding the 2022 World Cup show that Qatar is preparing its country well. This is also the case with the da'wah of Islam carried out by this country. Qatar is considered successful in spreading Islam rahmatan lil alamin, one of which is through the recitation of Q.s. Al-Hujurat: 13 by Ghanim Al-Muftah during the opening ceremony. Apart from these examples, many other Islamic da'wah will be discussed in this article. In Q.s. An-Nahl: 125, Allah swt. explains the methods of wisdom that can be used in preaching, including wisdom, Al-Mau'idzah al-hasanah, and good rebuttals. This article aims to analyze Qatar's da'wah methods in the 2022 World Cup. The formulation of the problem in this article is how is da'wah with wisdom, Al-Mau'idzah al-hasanah, and good rebuttals made by Qatar? This analysis concludes that the al-mau'idzah al-hasanah method is the most widely applied. In addition, the propaganda method used by Qatar has also succeeded in creating peace, joy, and love for Islam and the state of Qatar.

Abstract

The process of language acquisition in children is not always immediate. There are various ways through which language can be learned, such as through familial interactions or exposure to music. Research indicates that music, including children's songs, plays a role in enhancing cognitive and language development in young children. This study investigates how Arabic children's songs can positively impact early language skills. Specifically, it aims to examine the influence of Arabic children's songs on language development during early childhood. The research was conducted using qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. Data were collected from primary and secondary sources through observation and interviews. The analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model which consists of 4 stages, namely: (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation, and (4) decision making or verification. The findings suggest that Arabic children's songs significantly contribute to early language development. The rich vocabulary present in these songs serves as a beneficial stimulus for children, aiding in their language acquisition process. Moreover, Arabic children's songs have the potential to boost children's motivation to learn and accelerate their language skills in an enjoyable and interactive manner.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of modern Arabic musical literature on Humood AlKhudher’s song Falasteen Biladi through a semantic analysis. The problem addressed in this research lies in understanding how modern Arabic songs, beyond their aesthetic qualities, serve as vehicles for articulating political, cultural, and social meanings. The song was chosen because its lyrics are deeply symbolic and emotionally charged, reflecting solidarity and pride for the Palestinian homeland while simultaneously engaging with broader socio-political contexts. The purpose of this study is to reveal the semantic strategies employed in Falasteen Biladi and to explain how these strategies contribute to shaping collective identity, resistance, and cultural diplomacy. A qualitative approach was employed, drawing data from the music video, song lyrics, social media discussions, and related articles. Data collection involved close listening, lyric transcription, classification of semantic features based on research questions, and enrichment with contextual information about Palestine’s socio-political situation. The analysis relied on semantic theories developed by Lyons (1995) and Leech (1981), with attention to denotative, connotative, affective, and social meanings. The findings show that Falasteen Biladi systematically constructs semantic meaning through the use of metaphor, symbolism, and deliberate diction. Surprisingly, beneath its patriotic and aesthetic tone lies a highly structured linguistic strategy that elevates the song into a form of cultural resistance against political domination. The study contributes to scholarship by demonstrating how modern Arabic music functions not only as artistic expression but also as a powerful medium of cultural diplomacy in global socio-political discourse.
