Abstract

The effectiveness of using facilities and infrastructure at the Takalar Regency Education and Culture Office plays a vital role in improving the quality of education. Properly managed facilities that are efficient, flexible, and user-oriented support both administrative processes and teaching activities. Yet, challenges remain, including uneven distribution of facilities, limited maintenance, and underutilized technology. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of facility and infrastructure use within the Takalar Regency Education and Culture Office and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors. A qualitative approach was applied through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that from an efficiency standpoint, the use of facilities and infrastructure is not yet optimal. Several employees still lack adequate equipment to perform their duties effectively. In terms of flexibility, the available facilities are sufficient to accommodate various administrative tasks, offering ease of use and contributing to smoother office operations. Regarding employee satisfaction, most respondents expressed that the facilities significantly support their performance and boost motivation at work. From the development aspect, there has been improvement in both quality and quantity, aligning with the institution’s functional needs. The study also identifies government support through budget allocation, policy direction, and resource provision, as a key supporting factor. Conversely, limitations in facilities, budget constraints, and weak supervision in facility management are major obstacles. Overall, comprehensive planning and stronger management strategies are needed to optimize facility utilization and ensure these resources effectively enhance the quality of education in Takalar Regency.

Abstract

This study focuses on the application of a differentiated learning model in the basic subjects of office management and business services class X MPLB at SMK Wahyu 1 Makassar. This study aims to determine how a differentiated learning model is applied in the basics of office management and business services for class X at SMK Wahyu 1 Makassar. This study utilizes a descriptive qualitative approach by involving research informants in data collection, namely, the head of the MPLB department, teachers of basic subjects of Office Management and Business Services, MPLB teachers, and class X students of the MPLB department. Data collection is carried out by observation, interview, and documentation techniques; then the data is analyzed through the process of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study show that the application of a differentiated learning model in the basic subjects of office management and business services class X MPLB at SMK Wahyu 1 Makassar, when viewed from the three indicators, can be said to be effective. The research results for each indicator provide evidence of its effectiveness: The Preparation Stage is not effective because there is a gap between real implementation in the field which results in students' learning experiences not really reflecting real differentiated learning. The Implementation Stage has been effective because teachers have successfully demonstrated creativity in identifying students' interests through concept maps to explore initial knowledge, relate theory to students' real experiences, theoretical aspects to practice, even though limited by predetermined learning outcomes. The Evaluation Stage is effective because it shows using various forms of assessment such as pre-test and post-test to monitor students' level of understanding, as well as providing direct feedback as a form of appreciation and correction to their work results.

Abstract

This study analyzed the supervisory function of the Environmental Agency of Makassar City in controlling environmental pollution caused by single-use plastic waste. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the research explored four key dimensions of supervision based on Terry’s control theory: standard setting, monitoring and evaluation, result comparison, and corrective actions. The findings showed that although the agency had a clear legal foundation through Mayor Regulation No. 21 of 2023 on the prohibition of plastic bags, operational standards and measurable performance indicators were not fully developed. Monitoring and evaluation were conducted only once a year, which limited the agency’s ability to capture variations in business compliance. The study also revealed that several business entities continued to violate the regulation, as evidenced by the issuance of warning letters. This indicated that the targets of plastic reduction had not been optimally achieved. Corrective actions remained limited to administrative warnings without structured follow-up mechanisms or tiered sanctions, which reduced their deterrent effect. Overall, the supervision function had been initiated but was not yet effective in ensuring consistent compliance and reducing single-use plastic waste. Strengthening operational standards, increasing monitoring frequency, improving data-based evaluation, and enforcing tiered sanctions were required to enhance environmental protection efforts in Makassar City.

Abstract

Internal quality assurance is a strategic element in maintaining the quality and credibility of education delivery. However, the implementation still tends to be administratively oriented and has not fully touched the dimensions of academic values and integrity. This study aims to analyze the development of scientific studies on internal quality assurance and examine the relevance of Siri’ values as an ethical foundation in strengthening academic integrity. This study uses a quantitative approach with a bibliometric analysis method. Data was obtained from Scopus indexed scientific publications relevant to the topics of internal quality assurance and academic integrity, then analyzed using the VOSviewer software through keyword co-occurrence techniques. The results of the study show that internal quality assurance has a strong relationship with academic integrity, self-evaluation, quality implementation competence, and the role of external quality assurance. These findings confirm that integrity is a key prerequisite for the effectiveness of internal quality assurance. The value of Siri’ as local wisdom is seen as relevant to strengthen the dimensions of moral awareness, academic responsibility, and institutional honor in the implementation of quality assurance. This research contributes to the development of conceptual understanding of internal quality assurance based on local cultural values as an effort to build a sustainable culture of educational quality.
