Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze technology-based innovations in Social Studies learning through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The research employed an SLR design based on the PRISMA guidelines, involving the processes of identification, selection, and synthesis of scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025. Data sources were obtained from relevant SINTA-indexed journals and analyzed using qualitative content analysis techniques. The findings reveal that technology-based innovations in Social Studies learning encompass various approaches, including blended learning, project-based learning, and the use of interactive media, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and artificial intelligence. The results also indicate that technology has a positive impact on student engagement, digital literacy, and critical thinking skills. This study contributes theoretically by strengthening the integration of the TPACK framework in Social Studies learning and practically by providing recommendations for educators and policymakers in developing innovative and adaptive technology-based learning. The limitation of this study lies in the SLR approach, which depends on the quality of the literature analyzed. Future research is recommended to examine the empirical implementation of technology in Social Studies learning through qualitative or mixed methods approaches.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a history learning model based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) that is integrated with Kahoot to improve the historical literacy of students at UPTD SMAN 1 Nosu. The method used is developmental research with a qualitative approach through the stages of analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation. The data were obtained from observations, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique in this study uses interactive analysis carried out through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the integration of AI and Kahoot is able to create adaptive, interactive, and interesting learning. This model is proven to improve students' abilities in understanding chronology, analyzing sources, and interpreting historical events critically. In addition, student motivation and engagement also increased. Thus, this study still has limitations, particularly in its scope, which was conducted in only one school with a limited number of subjects and its reliance on technology facilities and internet connections in the learning process. Therefore, further research is recommended to involve a wider range of schools, use a more diverse approach, and develop more innovative AI- and Kahoot-based learning models for optimal application in history learning across various educational settings.

Abstract

Social Studies Education in Indonesia faces a crisis of meaning due to the dominance of rote learning and the lack of connection to students’ social realities. This study examines the concepts, implementation, challenges, and solutions of community-based learning and local wisdom approaches in Social Studies Education through a systematic literature review of journal articles, master’s theses, and Merdeka Curriculum policy documents. The findings reveal that this approach is grounded in critical pedagogy, social constructivism, and ethnopedagogy. Its implementation through field studies, service learning projects, and community-based problem solving has been shown to improve conceptual understanding, cultural identity, social empathy, and students’ learning motivation. The main challenges include curriculum density, limited teacher competence, lack of community support, financial constraints, and the decline of local wisdom. Proposed solutions include project-based learning integration, teacher training, collaboration with communities, optimization of school operational funds, and digital documentation of local culture to support national cultural preservation in the era of globalization.

Abstract

Secondary education plays a strategic role in the development of human resources in Indonesia. This article aims to analyze secondary education policies in Indonesia, covering the regulatory framework, policy implementation, challenges encountered, and future development directions. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, drawing on regulations, scholarly articles, as well as reports from national and international institutions. The findings indicate that since the enactment of Law Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System, there have been significant policy developments. However, policy implementation continues to face various challenges, including disparities in educational quality across regions, limited infrastructure, unequal distribution of teaching personnel, and a mismatch between curriculum and labor market demands. The main findings reveal that the core issues in secondary education policy lie not only in regulatory aspects but also in disparities in implementation across regions, institutional capacity, and the readiness of human resources in the education sector. Therefore, future policy development should focus on expanding equitable access, improving the quality of learning, strengthening governance, and integrating digital technology into education. This article contributes by providing a critical synthesis of secondary education policies as a basis for formulating more adaptive and sustainable policy directions.
