Abstract

Deviant behavior among elementary school students has recently become increasingly prevalent, particularly in the form of negative deviations. Given the rise of negative deviant behavior in elementary schools, research on this issue is necessary. This study, conducted at SD Negeri Doplang 04 Adipala, aims to identify the influencing factors, the forms of negative deviant behavior, and the efforts made to prevent and address such behaviors among elementary school-aged children. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study design to provide an in-depth description of the findings. The results show that the factors influencing negative deviant behavior include habits, peer associations, environmental influences, lack of awareness of existing rules, rapid changes in norms, and unclear regulations, which can lead children to lose their sense of guidance and seek self-expression through deviant actions. Forms of negative deviant behavior at school include vandalizing school facilities, cheating, extorting money from peers, not doing homework, climbing over fences, leaving school without permission, neglecting cleaning duties, littering, and truancy. The follow-up efforts taken include restitution approaches, persuasive actions, positive reinforcement, and collaboration with parents.

Abstract

Student discipline issues remain a persistent challenge across educational levels, often disrupting the learning environment and student development. This study aims to investigate the application of the restitution triangle as an alternative strategy for addressing disciplinary problems among elementary school students. Developed by Diane Gossen, the restitution triangle offers a restorative framework consisting of three main stages: stabilizing identity, validating misbehavior, and seeking underlying beliefs. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving students and teachers at Gunungsimping 02 State Elementary School. The findings reveal that the implementation of the restitution triangle effectively reduced the frequency of disciplinary violations, enhanced students' self-awareness, and strengthened teacher-student relationships. These results suggest that the restitution triangle is a promising strategy for fostering a positive school culture grounded in self-discipline and personal responsibility.

Abstract

The rapid technological advancement of the 21st century has significantly impacted various sectors of life, including education. One phenomenon that has emerged is the increasing use of gadgets among elementary school students, raising concerns about its effects on students' character development. This study aims to explore the influence of gadget use on the character of fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Danakerta. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study collected data through interviews with students, teachers, and parents, as well as direct observations of student behavior. The findings reveal that excessive gadget use negatively affects students' discipline, social skills, and empathy. Students who frequently use gadgets tend to have reduced peer interaction, lower social skills, and less adherence to academic tasks and school behavior rules. In response, both the school and parents have implemented strategies such as limiting screen time and encouraging more social interaction. This study emphasizes the importance of more structured management of gadget use both at school and at home and highlights the need for strengthened collaboration between parents and teachers to support positive character development in students.

Abstract

Inclusive education seeks to ensure equitable access to learning for all students, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing. Despite its growing adoption, the implementation of inclusive practices in Indonesian elementary schools continues to face significant challenges, such as limited teacher competence, inadequate infrastructure, and minimal social support. This study aims to identify effective learning strategies for deaf students within inclusive education settings by conducting a systematic literature review with a qualitative approach. A total of 20 primary sources published between 2011 and 2024 were analyzed. The findings reveal that multisensory approaches, mnemonic techniques, and differentiated instruction significantly improve language acquisition and social skills among deaf students. However, the implementation is hampered by barriers such as insufficient teacher training in sign language, substandard acoustic classroom conditions, and low levels of parental engagement. To address these issues, this study recommends the integration of digital technologies, comprehensive teacher training initiatives, and the development of data-driven educational policies. The results align with Vygotsky’s socio-emotional development theory, highlighting the critical role of social interaction in learning. This study contributes to advancing inclusive education theory and offers practical strategies to enhance the educational experiences of deaf students. Further research through longitudinal studies is suggested to evaluate the sustainability and long-term impact of these strategies.

Abstract

The use of technology in learning is very necessary in terms of designing, analyzing, evaluating, developing, and implementing material in the learning process. The important thing in the learning design process is the media used in learning. These learning media can be in the form of PowerPoint, digital modules, video tutorials, and other presentation materials. An educator should have learning media that is new and interesting in delivering material to his students, one of which is by presenting material through animated and fun learning videos. Canva is an application that can be used in designing learning media in the form of videos. How to use Canva Design is quite easy with many choices of design variations. This application provides a variety of design templates to use, ranging from free (free) to paid (pro). Canva can help users create and design a variety of creative designs, from designing brochures, advertisements, presentations, videos to infographics. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using the Canva application as a creative, innovative and collaborative learning video medium. The research method used is literature review. The method for searching for article data sources is carried out through the Google Scholar database resources (2020-2022) by taking relevant articles published in Indonesian. Key terms and phrases related to the Canva app, media, and learning videos were used in related subject searches. The results of the study show that the Canva application is effectively utilized as a medium for making creative, innovative and collaborative learning videos, so that it can assist educators in delivering material and make it easier for students to understand learning material. In addition, using Canva is also more efficient because it provides a variety of design templates for free and is available in several versions, namely web, Android and iPhone, so you can make learning videos simply by using your cellphone (gadget).
