Abstract

This study assesses the impact of energy, fiscal, monetary, green economy, and ICT policies on carbon emissions. Using a dynamic GMM estimator, it analyzes panel data from 38 OIC and 81 non-OIC developing countries from 2012 to 2021. The findings reveal divergent policy impacts: while renewable energy reduces emissions, fossil fuel use also shows an emission-lowering effect, potentially through efficiency gains. Conversely, electricity consumption increases emissions. In fiscal policy, tax revenue correlates with higher emissions, whereas government spending and industrial activity suppress them. Paradoxically, key green economy indicators the human development index and forest cover are associated with increased emissions, alongside the effects of ICT development. These complex results underscore the need for nuanced, integrated policy design. The study concludes that a strategic policy mix harmonizing fiscal, energy, and technological interventions is crucial for developing nations to achieve sustainable, green economic growth and contribute effectively to global climate mitigation.

Abstract

Abstract. This study is a Quasi-Experimental research aimed at obtaining data and information regarding the effectiveness of the Flipped Classroom learning model in improving German reading skills at SMAN 3 Makassar. The research population consisted of 175 students from five classes in Grade XII at SMA Negeri 3 Makassar. The sample was selected randomly (random sampling), with Class XII 5 serving as the experimental group, consisting of 34 students, and Class XII 9 serving as the control group, also consisting of 34 students. The mean score of the experimental group during the pre-test was 41.91, which increased to 80.15 in the post-test. The data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test. The analysis results showed that t_calculated (7.380) > t_table (1.996) at a significance level of 0.05. These findings indicate that the Flipped Classroom learning model is effective in improving the German reading skills of students at SMA Negeri 3 MakassarKeyword: Effektivnesss, flipped classroom, Reading, German

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study examines students' numeracy abilities and attitudes toward environmental awareness among primary school-age children. Through an in-depth understanding of these two aspects, this study aims to provide a strong foundation for formulating appropriate solutions and learning methods that align with the needs and conditions of primary school-age children. Methodology: This research employed a descriptive method with a quantitative approach to explore numeracy literacy capabilities and attitudes toward environmental awareness. The descriptive research design was structured to provide detailed descriptions of the conditions or characteristics of the phenomena under study, focusing on "how" questions and presenting facts accurately and comprehensively. Main Findings: The results indicated that 57.5% of primary school-age children demonstrated moderate numeracy skills, while 32.5% fell into the poor category. This suggests the need for educational intervention to enhance numeracy capabilities. Additionally, children's environmental awareness attitudes largely fell into the good category at 65%. However, certain environmental awareness attitudes still require additional attention for optimal development. Systematic efforts remain necessary to improve both aspects. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study provides novel insights into numeracy capabilities and environmental awareness attitudes among primary school-age children from the Malind community in EswambiVillage. The data offers contextual and specific information regarding educational conditions and environmental awareness in this region, which has yet to be extensively studied in previous research.

Abstract

Medical informed consent refers to a patient’s approval of a medical procedure after receiving adequate information regarding diagnosis, treatment objectives, risks, benefits, and available alternatives. The implementation of informed consent is regulated under Article 293 of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health. However, in practice, informed consent is often treated merely as an administrative formality, which may lead to medical disputes and civil litigation. This study aims to analyze the legal position of informed consent from a civil law perspective, the legal protection afforded to both doctors and patients, and the legal consequences of medical actions performed without patient consent. This research employs a normative juridical method using statutory, conceptual, and case approaches through library research involving primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The findings indicate that informed consent is an integral part of the therapeutic agreement establishing a civil legal relationship between doctors and patients and may serve as documentary evidence in civil proceedings. It provides legal protection for patients by ensuring their right to information and self-determination, while also protecting doctors as proof that medical actions were performed with consent. However, its evidentiary value is not absolute, as courts must also consider professional standards and medical negligence. This study concludes that informed consent must be implemented clearly, comprehensively, and based on the patient’s voluntary approval to ensure legal certainty and protection for all parties.

Abstract

The practice of Ex Gratia payments in insurance has developed as a discretionary policy to maintain good relations with insured parties, protect corporate reputation, and facilitate dispute resolution without prolonged litigation. However, the absence of explicit regulation under Indonesian law creates legal uncertainty regarding the legal status of Ex Gratia payments, their implications for the rights and obligations of the parties, and the legal certainty following such payments. This study aims to examine the juridical construction of Ex Gratia payments as a civil legal act outside contractual obligations and to analyze their legal implications within insurance agreements. This research employs a normative legal method using statutory, conceptual, and analytical approaches. The study relies on secondary data consisting of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials collected through library research. Data were analyzed qualitatively using descriptive-analytical and prescriptive methods. The findings indicate that Ex Gratia payments do not arise from contractual obligations under an insurance policy but constitute voluntary civil legal acts based on moral, humanitarian, reputational, or business considerations. Nevertheless, such payments may establish new legal relationships if expressly stipulated in a binding agreement or written commitment. Furthermore, Ex Gratia payments may affect the insured’s right to sue, the waiver of rights, the principle of subrogation, and the balance of legal rights and obligations between the parties, highlighting the need for clearer legal regulation to ensure certainty and consistency in insurance practice.

Abstract

This study examines the juridical issue of granting custody of children who have not yet reached the age of mumayyiz to the father in divorce cases, a condition that deviates from Article 105 letter (a) of the Compilation of Islamic Law, which generally places custody of children under mumayyiz age with the mother. The study aims to analyze Indonesian legal provisions concerning child custody granted to fathers, judicial considerations in court decisions on such custody arrangements, and the juridical implications for the protection of children’s rights after divorce. This research applies a juridical-normative method through literature study of books, journals, court decisions, and relevant laws and regulations. The findings show variations in judicial reasoning. The first decision emphasized mediation agreements but failed to adequately consider the father’s history of domestic violence against the child. The second decision maintained custody with the father based on the child’s factual living conditions and psychological comfort, despite the existence of threats of physical violence. The third decision restored custody to the biological mother after the threat to the child was considered to have ended. The study concludes that custody of children under 12 years old may only be transferred to the father when the mother loses custody rights due to serious negligence. Nevertheless, the child’s safety, best interests, and legal protection must remain the primary considerations, requiring stricter judicial standards and integration between family and criminal law.
