Abstract

The digital revolution transforms public administration, notably service delivery efficiency and accountability. According to this study, the digital tools and platforms used by governments worldwide impact public service delivery efficiency and accountability. This study examines how digital technologies like e-governance and data analytics influence public sector operations and how organisational culture and leadership might offset these effects. A mixed-approaches design employing qualitative and quantitative methods achieved research aims. Semi-structured interviews and focus groups with public sector workers and others produced qualitative data, while surveys and secondary data analysis acquired quantitative data. Thematic analysis was done in NVivo for qualitative data, while descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression were done in SPSS for quantitative data. Quantitative analysis indicates that digital transformation strongly impacts service delivery efficiency (R² = 0.42, F (3, 246) = 15.67, p < 0.001) and accountability (R² = 0.36, F (3, 246) = 12.29, p < 0.001). Significant predictors of service delivery efficiency and accountability include digital transformation (β = 0.45, p < 0.001), organisational culture (β = 0.35, p < 0.01), and leadership (β = 0.32, p < 0.05). Qualitative studies revealed that automation, real-time data sharing, transparency, and public involvement improve efficiency and accountability. This research found that digital transformation boosts public administration efficiency and accountability. Implementation needs a supportive workplace and good leadership. This study argues that governments should encourage digital adoption, address data privacy concerns, and close the digital divide to provide inclusive and equitable digital services.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct transformational leadership through the integration of Islamic values, offering a contextual model for enhancing the performance of Islamic educational institutions. The primary focus is to combine the core principles of transformational leadership with Islamic teachings to form a leadership framework that aligns with the spiritual, ethical, and cultural foundations of Islamic education. Using a qualitative approach and a case study design, research was conducted in several Islamic educational institutions across Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The research findings indicate that Islamic values such as sincerity (ikhlas), trustworthiness (amanah), justice (‘adl), and deliberation (shura) reinforce the four key dimensions of transformational leadership: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. These values do not replace transformational leadership elements but enrich and contextualize them, leading to improved institutional performance in managerial, academic, and spiritual aspects. The implications of this study underline the significance of internalizing Islamic values within leadership practices to build a productive, ethical, and spiritually grounded organizational culture. This integrated model can serve as a practical and theoretical reference for developing effective, authentic, and sustainable leadership in Islamic educational settings.

Abstract

Early childhood represents a critical period for cognitive, social, and emotional development, where foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, attention, and social interaction are established. High-quality early childhood education (ECE), as underscored by research such as that of Roslan et al. (2022), is pivotal for preparing children for formal schooling and fostering long-term academic and social success. This study investigates the integration of an AI-driven teaching prototype, incorporating interactive, adaptive storytelling agents and gamified learning platforms, within the ECE environment. A mixed-methods approach was employed, involving 80 children and 16 educators. The research instruments demonstrated high reliability, with a Cronbach's α of 0.782. Quantitative findings revealed significant improvements in several domains: reading skills (22%), mathematical understanding (17%), attention span (19%), and teacher-reported instructional effectiveness (24%). Qualitatively, the AI prototype was found to enhance student engagement, acceptance, and personalised learning experiences, thereby enabling educators to dedicate more time to providing targeted social-emotional support and individualized instruction. However, the study also identified significant challenges, including disparities in technology access, the potential for over-reliance on AI tools, and insufficient teacher training for effective technology integration. These findings emphasize the necessity for a carefully managed, human-centric implementation strategy. We conclude that while AI-driven tools hold transformative potential for ECE by augmenting pedagogical capabilities and personalizing education, their efficacy is contingent upon equitable access, ethical application, and sustained teacher professional development. Recommendations are offered for policymakers, educational administrators, and teachers to guide the sustainable integration of AI in early learning environments.

Abstract

Incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbots within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) is revolutionizing the educational domain, presenting new avenues for improved student support and administrative effectiveness. This research delves into the prospective impacts of AI chatbots in HEIs, focusing on their influence on teaching, learning, and research activities. Adopting a Narrative Literature Review (NLR) approach, the study compiles and synthesizes existing research on the role of AI chatbots in higher education, drawing from a wide range of academic sources and scholarly literature. The results underscore the significant potential of AI chatbots to streamline administrative functions, enrich student learning experiences, and facilitate research endeavours. Nonetheless, challenges such as concerns over academic integrity, difficulties in accurately interpreting user inputs, and the need for appropriate resource allocation present substantial barriers to the successful adoption of AI chatbots in HEIs. The study emphasizes the critical need for proactive strategies to address ethical issues, ensure comprehensive training for all stakeholders, and formulate clear guidelines for the responsible deployment of AI chatbots in higher education. By overcoming these challenges and capitalizing on the advantages of AI technologies, HEIs can fully exploit the capabilities of AI chatbots, thereby fostering a more efficient, effective, inclusive, and forward-thinking educational environment.

Abstract

The significance of Islamic religious education in shaping children's character is paramount in contemporary society. This study aims to explore the transformative impact of Islamic education on children's moral and spiritual development, utilizing a comprehensive analysis that integrates psychological and spiritual perspectives. A mixed-method approach combining literature review and empirical research elucidates how Islamic education fosters moral reasoning, empathy, and self-regulation among children while nurturing a profound spiritual connection and inner transformation. Here are the steps: 1) Literature Review: Start by compiling a comprehensive literature review about the importance of Islamic religious education in forming children's character. Please focus on the psychological theories that support this argument and their relationship to aspects of spirituality. 2) Empirical Research: conducting empirical research to support the claim. Use appropriate research methods such as surveys, interviews, or observations to collect relevant data from respondents from various backgrounds and ages. The findings underscore the holistic nature of Islamic education in equipping children with the ethical fortitude, emotional resilience, and spiritual consciousness necessary to navigate life's challenges with integrity and purpose. Our research findings demonstrate how Islamic education fosters moral reasoning, empathy, and self-regulation among children while nurturing a deep sense of spiritual connection and inner transformation. By integrating psychological insights with spiritual teachings, Islamic education offers a holistic approach to character development, equipping children with the ethical fortitude, emotional resilience, and spiritual consciousness necessary to navigate life's challenges with integrity and purpose.
Rainbow Washing in Human Resource Management: A Systematic Literature Review of Diversity Rhetoric and Authentic Inclusion Sain, Zohaib Hassan; Rahimah, Anni

Abstract

This study presents a systematic literature review (SLR) on the phenomenon of "rainbow washing"—the practice of promoting diversity rhetorically without enacting substantive change—within the context of Human Resource Management (HRM). While Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) have become widely discussed in organizational discourse, there remains a lack of comprehensive analysis that critically examines the gap between symbolic commitments and authentic inclusion. This review addresses that gap by synthesizing existing research on how performative DEI efforts manifest, their operational mechanisms, and their impact on marginalized employees. A systematic search of Scopus and Web of Science databases was conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines, focusing on literature published between 2000 and 2024 using keywords such as “authentic inclusion,” “performative allyship,” “rainbow washing,” and “diversity rhetoric.” From an initial pool of 582 records, 25 studies met the inclusion criteria after a rigorous screening and quality appraisal process. The review identifies three critical patterns: (1) symbolic communication practices, including the use of simplified language and visual performativity; (2) the decoupling of HR systems, where recruitment, training, and accountability mechanisms serve reputational goals rather than internal transformation; and (3) the lived consequences for marginalized employees, such as heightened identity strain, workplace cynicism, and emergent forms of micro-resistance. Theoretically, this review contributes to the concept of Symbolic Inclusion by framing rainbow washing as a self-perpetuating organizational cycle. Practically, it provides HR professionals and policymakers with evaluative tools to distinguish between performative and impactful DEI initiatives. The study concludes that rainbow washing is a systemic organizational process with tangible psychosocial costs and calls for a paradigm shift from performative rhetoric to evidence-based, accountable inclusion practices. Future research should examine this phenomenon in non-Western contexts and explore the pivotal role of middle managers as agents of inclusive change.
