Abstract

The study aims to test the effectiveness of using the audio analysis software, Mictester, on smartphones in experiments on standing waves in order to improve students' understanding of concepts in high school. The sample consisted of 19 students of 11th grade at State High School 1 SoE. The instrument used was a test sheet of conceptual understanding of standing wave matter. The results show a significant improvement in students' understanding of concepts after the application of Mictester for audio analysis on Android devices/smartphones. Thus, standing wave experiments that utilize Mictesters software for audio analytics can be an alternative in physics learning, replacing conventional experimental equipment such as oscilloscopes, thereby reducing the cost of experiments.

Abstract

The prevalence of stunting has decreased compared to the previous 2 years. However, this reduction still does not meet WHO's target, namely the prevalence of stunting <20%, while the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia in 15 provinces is still above 20%.  The aim of this research is to analyze stunting prevention with the edu-1000 first day of birth application in pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers in Kupang district. method. The research design used in this research is "one groups pretest-posttest design", Results: The level of knowledge of pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers is very good, the majority of respondents have very good skills, namely 25 people (50%). Based on the results of data analysis, there is an influence between respondents' knowledge about stunting on prevention attitudes as shown by (p-value 0.00 < 0.005), there is an influence between respondents' knowledge about stunting on prevention skills as shown by p-value 0.02 < 0.005. Conclusion. Prevention of stunting with the edu-1000 the First 1000 days life application can influence the incidence of stunting in pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers in Kupang district.

Abstract

Honey from forest bees (Apis dorsata) is one of the non-timber forest products that has long been used in Loli Village, Polen Districk, South Central Timor Regency and has become an additional source of livelihood to meet the needs of farmers in Loli Village. This research aims to determined the contribution of forest honey to farmers' total income and to determine the level of welfare of farmers in Loli Village. This research was carried out during April-May 2024, using saturated sampling method (census), of a total of 19 honey farmers and data analysis using quantitative descriptive analysis. The research results shows that the contribution of forest honey bee farming to the total income of farmer households in Loli Village is 76% with total honey farming income of IDR 372,360,000/year, an average of IDR 19,597,895/year. The results of the analysis proved that of the 19 respondents, only 7 respondents had incomes above the average, while the other 12 respondents had incomes below the average. This is influenced by the large number of trees owned by each respondent and the number of hives in the nesting trees, so it can be ascertained that the gains in honey production are also different. Based on the level of farmer welfare, there are still 74% of honey farmers who are not prosperous, but honey farming is able to provide a good life and is the main support for the welfare of farmers in Loli Village. However this contribution can be threatened if forest preservation is not maintained, so there needs to be a role Government and Community in efforts to protect and preserve forests in Loli Village. Abstract

Background:  Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a disease that works by damaging the body's immune system so that patients are susceptible to opportunistic infectious diseases when the number of CD4 (white blood cells or lymphhocyte/T-cells) decreases or the viral load level increases. Objective: To identify challenges in achieving voluntary counseling and testing services for people with human immunodeficiency virus.  Methods: literature review, literature search process using Google Scholar and Pubmed databases with the keyword 'Challengesi in Reaching Voluntary Counseling and Testing Services for Human Immunodeficiency Virus Sufferers'. The inclusion criteria are journals published in the 2021-2024 range, journal types of articles with quantitative, qualitative, empirical research methods, pdf full text journals, articles taken are national and international journal articles. Results: The challenges in achieving voluntary counseling and testing services for people with HIV are influenced by several things, including lack of cost, limited provision of logistics for examinations, stigma and discrimination both from patients and the community, including health workers, knowledge about HIV in at-risk people as well as the community, and limitedservice facilities and health human resources that are still limited both in terms of number and knowledge of VCT.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Elsa Speak application in enhancing speaking skills among students at Universitas Nusa Cendana, Kupang. As English language proficiency becomes increasingly crucial in academic and professional contexts, innovative technological solutions like Elsa Speak—an AI-powered pronunciation and speaking coach—offer promising alternatives to traditional speaking instruction. The research examines how students at the Fourth Semester Students of English Education Department, Nusa Cendana University, Kupang, NTT utilize the application's speech recognition technology, personalized feedback mechanisms, and interactive exercises to improve their pronunciation, fluency, and overall speaking confidence. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the study collected data from English language learners through pre-tests and post-tests, questionnaires, and interviews to assess learning outcomes and user experiences. Findings indicate that regular use of Elsa Speak resulted in measurable improvements in pronunciation accuracy and speaking fluency, with students reporting increased confidence in oral communication. However, challenges such as limited internet connectivity and the need for self-discipline in independent learning were identified as potential barriers. The study concludes that while Elsa Speak serves as a valuable supplementary tool for speaking practice, its effectiveness is maximized when integrated with instructor-led activities and peer interaction. These findings contribute to the growing body of research on mobile-assisted language learning (MALL) and provide practical insights for educators in Indonesian higher education contexts seeking to incorporate technology-enhanced language instruction.
