Abstract

The objective of the community service carried out by a team from Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang at SMPN 16 Malang is to increase students’ creative writing literacy. The methods used were training and mentoring during creative writing. The activity began with recording students’ writing interests and identifying the students' type of writing preferences, followed by training, writing practice, evaluating student work, strengthening student understanding, and improving the written work. To achieve the activity’s targets, students were requested to answer questions on a Google form. The result shows that 178 students have an interest in writing, of which 79% chose to write stories, 19% wrote poetry, and the rest chose fables and history. Students who were interested in writing were given training and practice. The training includes strengthened writing concepts, writing practice, result assistance, and feedback. Training activities, mentoring, and enhancement of student work are carried out for three months. Furthermore, the process of editing and designing the book was carried out for one month. At the end of the activity, 78 students could write short stories, descriptive stories, and poetry. After going through the curation and editing process, the students' work was recorded with an International Standard Book Number (ISBN) and given to each author and the school.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang berjudul “Bentuk Bahasa Slang dalam Komunikasi Grup Whatsapp Remaja di Kota Lumajang”. Sesuai dengan masalah yang diteliti, maka peneliti menyimpulkan hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan: 1) bentuk bahasa slang dalam komunikasi grup whatsapp remaja di kota Lumajang, 2) makna bahasa slang dalam komunikasi grup whatsapp remaja di kota Lumajang, 3) konteks bahasa slang dalam komunikasi grup whatsapp remaja di kota Lumajang. Berikut ini paparan kesimpulan sesuai dengan perumusan masalah yang diteliti:1. Bentuk bahasa slang dalam komunikasi grup whatsapp Partai Nakal Sopan terdiri dari 1) bentuk abreviasi, 2) bentuk pembalikan (ragam walikan), 3) bentuk plesetan, 4) bentuk kategorisasi kosakata slang dalam komunikasi grup whatsappremaja di kota Lumajang.

Abstract

GPPH adalah suatu gangguan perilaku ketika anak sulit fokus atau rentang perhatian yang buruk. Gangguan ini biasanya diiringi dengan perilaku hiperaktif atau impulsif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk penguasaan dan ketidaktepatan menulis berbahasa Indonesia anak penderita Gangguan Pemusatan Perhatian dan Hiperaktivitasberusia 8 tahun siswa kelas 2 SD.Menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan psikolinguistik. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SD Bareng 5 kota Malang. Data penelitian ini berupa bentuk tulisan frasa, klausa dan kalimat. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes soal cerita gambar seri, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik dasar pilah unsur penentu. Hasil analisis ditemukan bentuk penguasaan yaitu; a) enam kategori bentuk frasa yaitu nomina, verba, adjektiva, adverbia, eksosentris, dan endosentris, b) fungsi klausa yaitu fungsi P + O, S + P + Ket, S + P + O, Ket + S + P, S + P + O + Ket, S + P, S + Ket dan c) kalimat tunggal dan majemuk. Ketidaktepatan menulis yaitu a) tidak mampu menulis tanda baca, b) ketidaktepatan menulis huruf kapital, c) penulisan kata tidak baku, d) ketidaktepatan fungsi kalimat, e) kesalahanpenggunaan unsur yang berlebih atau mubadzir kata, f) pemilihan preposisi yang kurang tepat, g) penggunaan kata ganti subjek yang kurang tepat.

Abstract

Kesantunan berbahasa merupakan tahapan yang di pakai penutur dalam berkomunikasi agar penutur tidak merasa tertekan saat berbicara dengan lawan tutur sehingga dapat menciptakan situasi yang santun dan baik antara satu sama lain. Oleh karena itu tuturan harus sesuai dengan pemenuhan maksim-maksim, makna serta konteks dalam berbicara. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini memaparkan tentang, (1) mendeskripsikan bentuk kesantunan berbahasa dalam dialog interakif Mata Najwa di Trans 7, (2) mendeskripsikan makna kesantunan berbahasa dalam dialog interaktif Mata Najwa di Trans 7 dan (3) mendeskripsikan konteks kesantunan berbahasa dalam dialog interaktif Mata Najwa di Trans 7.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan pragmatik dan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, karena data yang diperoleh berupa deskripsi tentang bentuk, makna dan konteks. Sumber data diperoleh dari Youtube chanel Narasi Newsroom yang menayangkan ulang siaran Mata Najwa di Trans 7. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa tuturan-tuturan yang disampaikan pada setiap pembicaraan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik simak dan teknik catat.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan, bentuk kesantunan berbahasa dalam dialog interaktif Mata Najwa di Trans 7 terdiri dari enam maksim yaitu maksim kebijaksanaan, maksim kedermawanan, maksim kerendahan hati, maksim pujian, maksim kesepakatan dan maksim kesimpatian. Berikutnya untuk temuan makna dan konteks dalam penelitian ini ialah, makna kesantunan berbahasa dalam dialog interaktif Mata Najwa di Trans 7 terdiri dari makna memberikan apresiasi, memberikan dorongan, memberikan perhatian, dan pemilihan bahasa. Sedangkan konteks kesantunan berbahasa dalam dialog interaktif Mata Najwa di Trans 7 memfokuskan pada peristiwa tutur yang mendorong terjadinya tuturan.

Abstract

An ethno poetics of narrative poem from D. Zawawi Imron attempts to stimulate social sensitivity during the current pandemic of Covid-19. This research aims at analyzing a narrative poem of D. Zawawi Imron as a cultural response during the current pandemic of Covid-19. This research employed an ethno poetics framework to analyze the narrative poem. In addition, it took a linguistics perspective suggested by Jacobson. This paper further discussed (1) how do the repeating words form that poetically responding from a narrative poem of D Zawawi Imron during the current pandemic of Covid-19? And how the meaning of the repeating words that poetically responding from the narrative poem of D Zawawi Imron during the current pandemic of Covid-19? The observation results indicate that the narrative poem of D Zawawi Imron entitled “Tiarap” (Prone in English) contains the poetic and cultural response. The analysis was conducted by using descriptive qualitative procedures. The approach used was an ethno poetics approach. The data source was an audio-visual document of D. Zawawi Imron’s poem entitled “Tiarap” (Prone in English) which was recently published during the pandemic of Covid-19. The data of this research was in the form of (1) the repeating words that are poetically responding to the narrative poem of D. Zawawi Imron during the current pandemic of Covid-19 and (2) the meaning of the repeating words that poetically responding to the narrative poem of D. Zawawi Imron during the current pandemic of Covid-19. The data were further analyzed by using the poetics analysis model. The results show that there are repeating words of alliteration, assonance, adjective repeating words, reduplication, and reduplication of the durative aspect. In addition, it obtained a direct and indirect meaning.

Abstract

In order to achieve the status of Adiwiyata Mandiri School, SMPN 25 Malang City implements an environment-based curriculum. This has not been balanced with the competence of teachers in the preparation of environmental-based learning tools. The purpose of this service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of teachers in designing environmentally friendly learning and compiling environmental-based learning tools. This activity was carried out at SMPN 25 Malang City with a total of 11 teachers from 11 fields of study. The method applied is workshops and mentoring which is carried out online and offline. To measure the success of the activity, pretest-posttest, observations, and interviews were conducted in guided discussions. The results of the training activities showed that (1) there was an increase in teacher understanding in designing environmentally friendly learning and (2) an increase in teacher skills in preparing environmental-based learning tools. The training activities for preparing environment-based RPP have increased the knowledge and skills of teachers in preparing environment-based RPP, so that they can support schools in achieving the status of Adiwiyata Mandiri Schools.

Abstract

The language used by teenagers in South Jakarta (Jaksel) is unique, because many of the vocabulary used is a blend of Indonesian and foreign languages. The formulation of the problem in this research is, (1) what is the form of South Jakarta youth slang found on the Kesel Aje Podcast YouTube channel?, (2) what is the meaning of South Jakarta youth slang on the Kesel Aje Podcast YouTube channel?, (3) what is the function from South Jakarta youth slang vocabulary?. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative by describing the use of slang used by Oza Rangkuti on the Kesel Aje Podcast YouTube channel. The data collection technique is in the form of observing and noting. The data is described qualitatively according to the pattern of formation, meaning, and function. The data in this study were obtained from the results of data collection on nine videos uploaded on the Kesel Aje Podcast YouTube channel. The results of this study found six formation patterns in slang, namely, abbreviations consisting of 20 data, acronyms 7 data, compound words 6 data, puns 7 data, code mixing 6 data, absorption from foreign languages 16 data. Vocabulary in slang is used to establish communication between speakers and speech partners, to give terms to things that are done, as well as to express the feelings or thoughts of speakers.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) describe the form of compliance and language function of the principle of cooperation in service communication conversations at the Muhammadiyah University of Malang Library, 2) describe violations and factors that influence the principle of cooperation in service communication conversations at the Muhammadiyah University of Malang Library. This type of research method is qualitative with a case study research approach. The research data is about the principles of cooperation in service communication conversations at the Muhammadiyah University of Malang Library. The data source comes from primary data sources in the form of dialogue text fragments in recorded service communication conversations that occurred between students and library staff at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The data collection technique was carried out using the note-taking method. Then, the data analysis technique is carried out by analyzing the data by reducing the data, presenting the data, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research analysis show (1) there are four forms of compliance with the maxims of cooperation principles, which include the maxim of quantity, the maxim of quality, the maxim of relevance, and the maxim of manner. There are two language functions found in compliance with these maxims, including assertive and directive language functions. The function of assertive language, namely stating, is found in the maxim of quantity and the maxim of quality, while the function of directive language, namely commanding, is found in the maxim of relevance and the maxim of manner, (2) there are two forms of violation of the maxim of the principle of cooperation which include the maxim of quantity and the maxim of relevance. There are also factors that influence the occurrence of violations of these maxims. Violations that occur in the maxim of quantity are influenced by situational factors and conditions that are being experienced. Meanwhile, violations of the maxim of relevance are influenced by the lack of known information.

Abstract

The procession of installing the roof frame of a house, which is termed as Munggahna Kuda-kuda in Javanese society, is carried out with a procession. This is done as a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation and is believed to prevent the owner of the house from bad luck that might happen in the future. The purpose of this research is 1) to describe the procession of Munggahna Kuda-kuda Malang Regency, 2) the symbolic meaning of offerings in Munggahna Kuda-kuda Malang Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with a semiotic approach in studying the culture of the local community. The sampling technique in this study used nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling. Research data and data sources in the form of the Mungahna Kuda-kuda tradition in Javanese society, especially in Malang Regency. The data collection technique in this research is by conducting interviews with sources of literature study on manuscripts. The results of this study are in the form of a procession in this tradition starting with determining the naga tahun or cardinal direction in accordance with the month in the Javanese calendar. second, determining the naga dina or good day in accordance with community beliefs. Third, a joint prayer event attended by workers and local residents with a dish consisting of sega golong and jenang sengkolo or glutinous rice porridge consisting of two colors, red and white. The fourth is the process of installing the roof of the house which is accompanied by the installation of offerings. Each offering consists of rice, corn, sugar cane, bananas, a red and white flag, and a set of clothes (sewek, shirt, and veil). Each symbol has its own meaning. The determination of the direction of the wind, the day, and the symbols in the offerings and selamatan dishes have a good purpose, namely as a manifestation of gratitude and prayers for safety to the Almighty in accordance with community beliefs.

Abstract

The use of language in kinship addressing has changed following the times. This change includes forming new terms often found on social media such as YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. This research aims to (1) describe the forms of kinship addressing among millennial teenagers on social media, (2) explain the meaning of kinship addressing among millennial teenagers on social media, and (3) explain the context of the dynamics of kinship greetings among millennial teenagers on social media. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a pragmatic approach. The data source for this research is the kinship addressing expressed by millennial teenagers on social media sites such as YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. This research data contains kinship addressing and the dynamics of the development of kinship addressing. The collection technique uses note-taking techniques and screen capture techniques. The data analysis technique is a matching method for selecting determining elements (PUP). The results of the research concluded that (1) 2 forms of kinship addressing were found among millennial teenagers in the mass media, namely kinship addressing with shortening patterns and forms of kinship addressing based on religion, (2) 26 kinship addressing of millennial teenagers on social media were found which experienced dynamics, and ( 3) background, social and age contexts are found
