Abstract

Efforts to prevent non-communicable diseases can be carried out through health promotion activities. Through health promotion strategies carried out, it is expected to be able to increase community participation in the prevention of non-communicable diseases. Community participation is widely believed to be beneficial for the development, implementation, and evaluation of health services. However, there are still many challenges to successful and sustainable community involvement. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of health promotion strategies on community participation in preventing non-communicable diseases. The research method used was analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples in this study was 218 people. The data analysis used is Chi-Square Test. Based on the results of multivariate analysis, it show that the correlation value of community empowerment (0.354), the correlation value of atmosphere building (0.179), the correlation value of advocacy (0.643), and the correlation value of partnership (0.150). The conclusion is that the variable that has a high correlation with community participation is advocacy, the variable that has a moderate correlation with community participation is community empowerment and the variable that has a very low correlation with community participation is the atmosphere building and partnership variables. Suggestions are expected for health workers, especially at the Ujong Fatihah Health Center, to be able to increase community empowerment through regular meetings held in the context of preventing infectious diseases, building a good atmosphere with the community, including the community in every advocacy process and building good partnerships with the community by involving the community in every advocacy activity carried out

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the determinants of stunting in toddlers. This research is an analytical survey research with a cross-sectional design explaining the relationship between knowledge, parenting patterns, socio-economic and access to sanitation, exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting in toddlers. This research was conducted in the Hutagodang health center working area, South Labuhan Batu Regency from January to August 2023. The population was mothers who had toddlers and the entire population was sampled. The research results show that there is a significant relationship between knowledge, parenting patterns, socio-economic factors, exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting in toddlers. There is no relationship between access to sanitation and the incidence of stunting in toddlers. The most dominant factor in the incidence of stunting in toddlers is knowledge with an exposure (β) of 4,558 greater than the exposure (β) of other variables. Parents of toddlers are expected to increase their knowledge about stunting, its impacts and how to prevent it. This can be done through printed media such as leaflets, brochures, magazines which have been provided by the community health center at the village hall, village office, posyandu and village health post, electronic media or outreach carried out by village midwives, community health center officers and village officials.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the risk factors for stunting among children under two years old (baduta) in the working area of Langga Payung Health Center, South Labuhan Batu Regency. Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem caused by insufficient nutritional intake over a prolonged period, leading to impaired physical and mental growth and development. This research employs a case-control study design with samples of mothers with stunted and non-stunted children. A total of 248 mothers were sampled using purposive sampling techniques. The results indicate that maternal education, maternal knowledge, and family income are significantly associated with stunting incidence. Appropriate interventions targeting these factors are expected to reduce the prevalence of stunting in the area.

Abstract

kebersihan Perilaku dan kesehatan yang dilakukan atas kesadaran masing-masing sehingga setiap anggota keluarga atau keluarga dapat membantu dirinya sendiri di bidang kesehatan dan berperan aktif dalam kegiatan-kegiatan kesehatan di masyarakat. Tujuan peneliti ini mengindentifikasi hubungan promosi kesehatan dengan perilaku hidup sehat. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif dengan pendekatan analisis cross-sectional yaitu yang digunakan untuk melihat faktor hubungan sebab akibat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan PHBS terbesar 41 orang (48,2%) berada pada kategori sehat II, 29 responden (34,1 %) pada kategori sehat IV, dan hanya ada 15 responden (17,6 %) yang berada pada kategori Sehat II, sedangkan strategi promosi kesehatan (advokasi) terbesar yaitu 44 responden (51,7%) bependapat kategori tidak baik, dan hanya ada 5 orang responden (5, 9%) yang mengklasifikasikan sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil uji korelasi diperoleh angka nilai signifikansi dari variabel advokasi sebesar sig= 0,034 < 0,05, berdasarkan hasil uji korelasi yang diperoleh dari bina suasana sebesar sig= 0,045 < 0,05. Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil uji korelasi yang diperoleh dari pemberdayaan sebesar sig= 0,038 < 0,05.

Abstract

Background: Prolanis is a program for managing chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus which is quite effective and efficient, but there are still many people who have not utilized this service. Hypertension is considered a serious health problem because it often occurs without complaints and can cause death (silent killer). Purpose: The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between the chronic disease management program (Prolanis) and hypertension in the work area of ​​the UPT Puskesmas Darussalam Medan City in 2024. Method: This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional research design approach. The number of samples was determined using the Slovin formula as many as 93 people. Primary data collection was carried out directly through questionnaires and secondary data was obtained from the Darussalam Health Center, Medan City. Data analysis was carried out using univariate and bivariate methods. Univariate analysis was carried out to obtain a description of the research variables and bivariate analysis was carried out to test the hypothesis of the relationship between Prolanis and hypertension. Hypothesis testing uses the Chi-square statistical test. Based on statistical analysis, medical consultation was obtained (p=0.000), group education (p=0.000), SMS gateway reminder (p=0.000), home visit (p=0.001), health status monitoring (p=0.000). Disscusion and Conclusion: All variables studied are related to whether blood pressure is controlled or not, where these various variables, if implemented properly, will be beneficial for the stability of blood pressure. It is hoped that this research can provide recommendations for further improving chronic disease management programs to achieve a more optimal quality of life.

Abstract

According to WHO 2012, deaths from stroke of 51% worldwide are caused by high blood pressure. In addition, an estimated 16% of stroke deaths due to high blood glucose levels in the body. Stroke is broadly classified into ischemic and haemorrhagic strokes. Stroke risk factors include smoking, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, atrial fibrillation, ischemic heart disease, valvular heart disease, and diabetes (Goldszmith, 2009). This study aims to explain about the Determinant of Stroke Events in the Inpatient Room of TK II Putri Hijau Kesdan I Bukit Barisan Hospital. This type of research is a survey research using explanatory research or explanatory research. The population was all stroke patients in the Inpatient Room of TK II Putri Hijau Kesdam I Bukit Barisan Hospital as many as 136 patients, the sample size in this study was 43 patients. Data analysis using Chi-Square test of 95% confidence level (p <0.05) and multiple logistic regression test. The results show that age, sex, family history, smoking, nutritional status / obesity, hypertension, and diabetes have a relationship with stroke sufferers. The most influencing factors of stroke were history of hypertension (p = 0.028), physical activity (p = 0.032) and smoking habit (p = 0.035). The effect of history of hypertension, physical activity and smoking habit had an effect on 95.3% stroke patient (Overall Percentage), while the remaining 4.7% was influenced by other factors. The results of this study are expected to be useful in the handling of stroke patients, so as to reduce the morbidity and mortality of stroke patients and improve self-sufficiency of stroke patients and also regularly follow the process of therapy provided for optimal recovery process.

Abstract

Background: Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a disease transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Indonesia, as a tropical country with high humidity and a dense population, is particularly vulnerable to the spread of dengue fever. Several risk factors, such as the level of knowledge, societal attitudes, customs related to hanging clothes, and the implementation of the 3M Plus programme, also play a role in the incidence of dengue cases. The Medan Johor District is one of the areas with the highest number of dengue fever cases in Medan City.Method: This study employed an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach, conducted in Kuala Bekala Village, Medan Johor District, in 2023. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire designed to measure knowledge, attitudes, preventive behaviours (3M Plus), use of mosquito repellent, and habits related to hanging clothes. The larval index was obtained through direct inspection of the respondents' homes. Data analysis was performed using chi-square tests and logistic regression.Results: There is a significant connection between the incidence of dengue fever and various factors, including the level of knowledge, attitudes, implementation of the 3M Plus programme, use of mosquito repellent, habits related to hanging clothes, and the number of free larvae (p < 0.05). Respondents with a lack of knowledge and at-risk behaviours were significantly more likely to be affected by dengue fever. The habit of hanging clothes poses nearly five times the risk of dengue fever incidence.Conclusion: The incidence of dengue fever in the Medan Johor District is influenced by several modifiable factors related to behaviour and the environment. Health promotion efforts that focus on improving knowledge and the consistent application of the 3M Plus programme are essential. The findings of this research are important for developing dengue fever prevention strategies in high-risk urban areas.

Abstract

Background: The Hajj pilgrimage is an obligation for Muslims, as established in Constitution Number 8 of 2019. One of the important components in the organisation of the Hajj is health, especially due to the high proportion of elderly and chronically ill congregants, who are considered a high-risk group. The Hajj Pilgrim Health Alert Card (K3JH) is issued to detect infectious diseases early after the congregation returns home. However, the rate of K3JH returns in Medan City has not yet reached the target of 90%.Methods: This study employed a cross-sectional design and was conducted at the Medan Johor Health Centre in 2024. The research sample consisted of all Hajj pilgrims registered in the work area. Data were collected through questionnaires and documents monitoring K3JH returns. The variables analysed included age, gender, education, occupation, distance to health facilities, disease status, information received, and the mechanism of K3JH return. Data analysis was performed using chi-square tests and logistic regression.Results: The majority of congregants who did not return their K3JH cards were elderly individuals with accompanying diseases. The main reasons for not returning the K3JH were forgetfulness, loss of the card, and lack of communication. Significant factors associated with K3JH return included age, education, disease status, and access to health services.Conclusion: Compliance among pilgrims in returning the K3JH is influenced by both individual and systemic factors. There is a need for targeted education, effective communication strategies, and strengthened coordination between health centres and KBIHU to increase the rate of K3JH returns. The results of this research have important implications for community health policy and the prevention of infectious diseases among Hajj pilgrims.

Abstract

Stres kerja yang berlebihan dapat berpengaruh negatif pada kinerja karyawan, sebab itu diperlukan upaya untuk mencegah dan mengatasi hal ini, termasuk dengan menggunakan sumber daya positif di sekitar pekerja, yaitu dengan dukungan sosial. Lingkungan kerja merupakan sebagian dari komponen yang sangat penting ketika karyawan melakukan aktivitas bekerja. Dengan memperhatikan lingkungan kerja yang baik akan menciptakan kondisi kerja yang mampu memberikan motivasi untuk bekerja, maka akan membawa pengaruh terhadap semangat karyawan dalam bekerja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan lingkungan kerja dan karakteristik individu terhadap stres kerja pegawai Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas HKBP Nommensen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey analitik dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Agustus 2023 sampai dengan Desember 2023. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah Dosen dan Pegawai Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas HKBP Nommensen Medan yaitu sebanyak 57 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan pencahaayan (0,050), kebisingan (0,022), suhu (0,006) dan lama kerja (0,003) dengan stress kerja pegawai, tidak ada hubungan umur (0,160) dan pendidikan (0,160) dengan stres kerja pegawai Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas HKBP Nommensen Tahun 2023.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi Penanganan kebakaran di Indonesia masih memiliki berbagai kendala yang menyebabkan kebakaran sering berakibat fatal. Begitupun dengan Apartemen The Reiz Condo sebagai gedung yang bertingkat tinggi dan padat bangunan resiko kebakaran di apartemen ini tinggi. Maka Kesiapsiagaan harus dimiliki oleh penghuni Apartemen The Reiz Condo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesiapsiagaan masyarakat dalam menghadapi keadaan darurat kebakaran. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian yang bersifat kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus dengan menggunakan wawancara dan observasi. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah kesiapsiagaan masyarakat yang diukur menggunakan 5 parameter yaitu Pengetahuan, Sikap, Rencana Tanggap Darurat, Sistem Peringatan Dini, dan Mobilisasi Sumberdaya.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui tingkat kesiapsiagaan penghuni Apartemen The Reiz Condo kurang siap. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah faktor yang menghambat kesiapsiagaan penghuni Apartemen The Reiz Condo berasal dari faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Faktor internal berasal dari dalam penghuni sendiri yaitu sikap inisiatif untuk menyimpan nomor darurat rendah,tidak memiliki materi mengenai kesiapsiagaan. Sedangkan faktor eksternal berasal dari yang berasal dari dalam Apartemen tidak pernah terlaksana Pelatihan dan Simulasi Bencana yang diadakan oleh pengelola gedung yang mengundang penghuni.
