Abstract

The phenomenon of Foreign Exchange (Forex) that runs in the investment sector and can help the development of Indonesia. Currently, forex has become an endemic trend and has attracted the attention of many parties, both investors and the public in general. Foreign exchange or forex is a type of trade or transaction that trades the currency of a country against the currencies of other countries involving the main money markets in the world for 24 hours continuously, so in this case a legal protection is needed. Lately, it turns out that there are many cases of fake investments in the form of gambling under the guise of investment that have claimed many victims. The purpose of this study is to find out how to guarantee legal protection for the rights of victims of criminal acts and how to provide compensation and restitution mechanisms for victims of criminal acts of fraud (gambling under the guise of investment). Through normative legal research, it is concluded: 1. Legal protection guarantees for the rights of victims of criminal acts are very important considering that the consequences of criminal acts can cause a person to experience physical, psychological and property losses and suffering. Through the legislation guaranteeing the protection of the rights of victims, it is necessary to obtain legal certainty and justice as a result of the occurrence of a crime. 2. The mechanism for providing compensation and restitution to victims of criminal acts has been regulated in Government regulations no. 44 of 2008 concerning the Provision of Compensation, Restitution, and Assistance to Witnesses and Victims, which is the implementation of Law no. 13 of 2006. 3. Another alternative to the provision of restitution and compensation that can bridge the two sides, namely the victim and the state, is to provide compensation through the issuance of State Securities which can make the victim receive compensation, and the state gets an injection of funds in terms of development without hurt both sides

Abstract

Several facts show that Australia has done several times wiretapping efforts against Indonesia. It is generally known that action tapping is an act of collecting information in secret diplomatic relations of a country. This journal is meant for analyzing the principle of the prohibition of wiretapping in the National Law, legal protection, and legal remedies that can be taken by Indonesia in the case of wiretapping. The research method used in this study is juriditve normative. This research analyzes relevant international treaties, case approaches, legal concept analysis approaches, and comparative approaches. The results of the study legally tapping is prohibited by law and international human rights based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) in 1966, the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (1958) and the 1961 Vienna Convention. While in the national law, the prohibition of tapping is provided in Article 28G paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution, Article 32 of law No. 39 of 1999, Article 40 of Law No. 36 of 1999, Article 31 paragraph (1) of Law No. 11 of 2008, and Article 31 paragraph (2) of Law No. 11 the Year 2008. concluded, juridically tapping is an act prohibited under international law and human rights In international law, Indonesian national law prohibits wiretapping. Indonesia has signed the Code of Conduct on Framework for Security Cooperation to prevent wiretapping. Besides, Indonesia can also bring wiretapping cases to the International Court of Justice because the Defense Signals Directorate (DSD) is the Australian government's official intelligence agency. The behavior of relations between countries and tapping as done by Australia to Indonesia appears to have shifted the meaning no longer as a crime but rather a violation of the diplomatic code of ethics.

Abstract

Several major European countries, such as France and Germany, have included CPO in the list of non-environmentally friendly products. Some countries impose additional import duties because CPO is considered as damaging as alcohol. This research is descriptive and uses a normative juridical approach. There are several demands put forward by the European Union for palm oil entering its territory, these demands include the importation of palm oil, either for food or for industrial purposes. Hence, the European Union requires sustainable palm oil production. Besides, the European Union believes that the use of palm oil for fuel production will endanger the sustainability of other foodstuffs, especially for the poor. The European Union's accusation of environmental threats is considered impure as environmental protection. Many argue that the accusation is only a political step by the European Union in anticipating the development of exports of Indonesian CPO products to Europe.

Abstract

The South China Sea (SCS) is a geographical area that is rich in natural resources such as crude oil and is a very strategic area of the economy. The SCS is surrounded by several littoral states which cause conflicts between coastal countries over the right to power over South China. There are at least 9 countries conflicting with each other in the SCS, such as the People's Republic of China (PRC), Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Burma and Indonesia. The problem became even more serious when the Declaration of Decision of the International Court of Justice or the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) as the highest international institution was opposed by China because it was considered detrimental and weakening China's power. This research aims to specifically discuss the geographical position of the SCS and international law (especially UNCLOS), diplomacy issues in the maritime sector, how to regulate sea areas according to international law and disputes that occur in the SCS and the role of Indonesian diplomacy in responding to the decision of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA)

Abstract

Indonesia uses customary Law as positive Law in the archipelago, is obeyed and implemented as a custom, from generation to generation respected by the community as a national tradition. As a rule of Law, Indonesia adheres to many legal systems at the same time that lives and develops in society, namely the civil law system and the customary law system. All these legal systems are complementary, harmonious, and romantic. As the original Law that grows and develops from community habits, Customary Law affects the process of law enforcement in Indonesia. The values contained in customary Law in Indonesia were used in the formation of jurisprudence in the Supreme Court. This paper will explain how customary Law, which has an "unwritten" character, can fill the Indonesian civil law system's legal gap. This paper's research method is a normative legal research method and uses several approaches, namely the statutory approach, the comparative approach, and the historical approach. This paper concludes that legal pluralism in Indonesia can be a solution to the legal gap created by the rigidity of civil law application.

Abstract

Abstract Introduction: Hypertension in pregnancy is a common complication that affects maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. Comprehensive handling is needed to overcome the incidence of hypertension in pregnancy so that it does not get worse. The use of inflammatory markers is widely used as a predictor of the incidence of hypertension in pregnancy, especially preeclampsia. Neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and mean platelet volume (MPV) values are believed to predict the incidence of hypertension in pregnancy. Aim of study: The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of both the NLR and MPV values to predict the incidence of hypertension in pregnancy. Methods: This research is an analytic observational study using secondary data from medical records. The data were taken from the Cimacan Regional Hospital from January to December 2019. The variables were then tested statistically to see the difference in the mean. If there are significant results, the predictor's ability will be tested again with the ROC curve test. Results: The results of statistical tests between the normotensive pregnancy group and pregnancy with hypertension showed that the mean difference was significant in the NLR variable with P-value of 0.004 and MPV with a P-value of 0.005. Then the NLR and MPV values were tested again by the ROC Curve method. The AUC results on the NLR variable (AUC: 0.562 / p-value: 0.022) and MPV (AUC: 0.560 / p-value: 0.022). Conclusion: Although NLR and MPV had differences mean between the two groups, their ability to predict pregnancy with hypertension was very low. Keywords: Pregnancy; Hypertension; Preeclampsia; NLR; MPV.

Abstract

Backgorund: The majority of research on the coronavirus pandemic has focused on the clinical manifestations of the COVID-19 infection. However, other facets of the pandemic's health, most notably the psychosomatic, receive less attention. The purpose of this study was to assess the validity and reliability of a psychosomatic questionnaire developed specifically for screening psychosomatic symptoms during the Covid-19 era. Method and Material: The present study is a cross-sectional study designed to establish a baseline for future research. The data collection instrument for this study is an online survey powered by Google Forms. The population of this study is entirely composed of productive groups. The variables in this study were a Likert scale-based psychosomatic symptom questionnaire and laboratory test results indicating the presence or absence of Covid-19. Prior to conducting sensitivity, specificity, and external validation tests on a questionnaire, it is necessary to ascertain its feasibility for use. The internal validity test is analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment method, with valid questions defined as those with a correlation coefficient rho (r) greater than 0.3. When the Cronbach coefficient is less than 0.6, the reliability test is analyzed using the Cronbach test method. This is a pilot study that will be followed by the next phase of research. Results: 37 respondents met the inclusion criteria. The Pearson Product Moment or Pearson Correlation tests revealed that the rho (r) value for all questions was greater than 0.3. The Cronbach's alpha value for reliability is 0.940. Finally, The Psychosomatic Questionnaire developed during the Covid-19 era established its validity and reliability. External validation is necessary for improved validation.

Abstract

Background: Neurodermatitis is a chronic condition with a high recurrence rate. It is critical to avoid repetitive scratching. As topical treatments for neurodermatitis: topical steroids, intralesional steroids, keratolytic agents, and many more are all available. Menthol, camphora, and Liquor Carbonis Detergent can be used in conjunction with topical steroids to enhance their therapeutic effect. The purpose of this journal is to compare the therapeutic efficacy of combination drugs containing 0.05% clobetasol, 3% liquor carbonis detergent, and 2% salicylic acid to standard therapy for neurodermatitis. Method: This study compares the efficacy of a new treatment therapy utilizing a combination of 0.05 percent Clobetasol, 3% liquor carbonis detergent, and 2% salicylic acid to standard therapy, specifically 0.05 percent Clobetasol. This is a retrospective cohort study conducted at the Indra Clinic. The samples for this study were all cases of neurodermatitis of the skin diagnosed at Indra's clinic between 2016 and 2017. The study's independent variable was the formulation of the drug, while the dependent variable was clinical improvement and the occurrence of side effects. Results: The cure rate for the 126 respondents who received the combination formulation was 88,9%, compared to 77,5%for the 111 respondents who received standard therapy containing 0.05 percent Clobetasol (p : 0,029). Conclusion: The innovative therapy of a 0.05% clobetasol mixture with 3% liquor carbonis detergent and 2% salicylic acid has been shown to improve clinical outcomes in patients with neurodermatitis more than the 0.05% clobetasol standard therapy.
