Abstract

Abortion cases are still a thorny problem in our society, especially for the younger generation. Abortion is a conception termination that comes before the age of 20 weeks or the fetus weighs less than 500 grams and there is still some left over from the result of conception. In medicine, abortion is divided into two, namely abortion that occurs spontaneously and abortion that is provoked (provocatus). Abortion that is not justified by law and the state is a criminal provocatus abortion, while an abortion that is legalized based on a medical indication is a medicinal provocatus abortion. Legal arrangements regarding abortion are regulated in the Criminal Code and Law Number 36 Year 2009 concerning Health. The act of abortion may only be performed after the person concerned has gained an understanding of what will happen before the action, during the action and after the action has been given by a person who is competent in his field.

Abstract

Vaccines are essential things that are used to prevent various infectious diseases. Therefore, the need for vaccines continues to increase from time to time in line with demographic developments. This in itself has caused a criminal loophole related to the circulation of many counterfeit vaccines that are not only circulating in small clinics but also reaching large hospitals. This paper explains the view of criminal law that reviews criminal acts from counterfeit vaccine activities, especially from the point of view of law number 36 of 2009 concerning Health.

Abstract

Transplantation is the transfer of all or part of the body's organ tissue from a donor to a donor recipient with the hope of improving the quality of life. In Indonesia, organ transplantation has not been clearly regulated. The need for organ donation is increasing from year to year compared to available organs, according to data reported to the Global Observatory on Donation and Transplantation (GODT), an analysis of 2010 transplant activity for 95 countries, representing nearly 90% of the world's population of organ transplant activities. an increase of 2.12% during 2009, but it is estimated that this is still far from the global demand. This creates lucrative business opportunities for irresponsible individuals. Therefore, good governance is a must to create excellent service to the community.

Abstract

Hypertension defines as elevated blood pressure with systolic blood pressure above 140mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure above 90mmHg. Hypertension affects 1,13 billion worldwide, mainly in low and middle-income countries. Generally, the classification of hypertension is divided into optimal, normal, high normal, grade 1, grade 2, and grade 3. Age, body weight, body mass index, and sleep duration can increase the risk of hypertension incidence. This study aimed to determine the cut off value of each variable to predict the hypertension incidence in Medan city. 352 respondents assessed with subjective questionnaire, blood pressure measurement, body weight, height and analyzed with Mann Whitney, ROC curve, and last Chi-Square with Yates correction. All variables were significantly associated (p-value<0,001) with hypertension incidence with cut off values: 45 years old, lower than 5,5 hours per night, greater than 65 kg for the body weight, and greater than 25 kg/m2. Age, body weight, body mass index, and sleep duration were associated and can be a good predictor for hypertension incidence.

Abstract

Often with the rapid development of technology and online commerce, especially e-commerce, it also has an impact on the increasing number of criminal incidents in electronic media. One of the criminal acts that occurs is the forgery of sick letters that doctors usually give to patients who need rest because of their illness. This paper discusses the criminal law aspects of the sale of fake sick letters via electronic media with a review of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions, Article 378 of the Criminal Code, and Article 62 of the Consumer Protection Act.

Abstract

Covid-19 itself still has unknown clinical manifestations. Case reports show that the disease spectrum is very large, with several target organs targeted. In general, the recorded symptoms vary from mild to severe, with some cases leading to death. The most frequently reported symptoms to include fever, cough, myalgia or weakness, pneumonia, and extreme dyspnea, although seldom reported symptoms to have headaches, diarrhea, hemoptysis, runny nose, and phlegm cough. One of the most interesting symptoms of COVID-19 is the presence of skin lesions in COVID-19 patients. This case report addresses skin lesions' development in the form of a maculopapular rash on the thirteenth day of infection with COVID-19 and the absence on the fifteenth day of regular care

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has encouraged people to carry out all forms of activities at home, both work and study. This has an impact on reduced physical activity, especially among students. If this continues, it will increase the risk of developing non-communicable diseases. The purpose of this study was to provide an overview of students' physical activity during the Covid 19 pandemic or Studying from home. This research is a cross-sectional study using google form media (online survey) which took place from April 2020 to July 2020. The samples of this study were active students in semesters 1 to 14 who were studying online. The exclusion criteria for this study were incomplete data, duplication, and unavailability. The research variable is the calculation of Metabolic Equivalent for Task (MET) for each student's physical activity for 1 week, then classifies it into several activity categories. The results of this study obtained 197 respondents who met the inclusion criteria with a mean MET of 432.19 (178.64). Based on the classification of student activity, it was found that 168 (85.3%) were classified as light physical activity and 29 (14.7%) were classified as moderate physical activity, and none were classified as heavy physical activity. The conclusion of this study is that there are still many students whose physical activity is classified as sedentary. This should be of particular concern to prevent the incidence of non-communicable diseases in the future.

Abstract

Pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2, later named as COVID-19, leads to a huge change in humans’ daily life all around the world including Indonesia. Large-scale social distancing in special region of Jakarta is causing an increase in physical inactivity as public facilities being shut down. This study aims to determine changes in body weight, body mass index, and nutritional status of students during distance learning due to COVID-19 pandemic. This study is a cross-sectional study using goggle form to collect data on 196 participants, using the Wilcoxon statistical test. The results show that there are no significant changes in body weight, body mass index, and nutritional status of participants before and during the COVID-19 pandemic (p-value = 0.099, 0.118, 0.078 respectively). This study concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic has not caused significant changes in body weight, body mass index, and nutritional status.

Abstract

Background: Based on the Global Burden of Disease study, TB is the second leading cause of death in the world. WHO 2017 is estimated to have 1,020,000 cases in Indonesia, but only 420,000 cases have been recorded at the Ministry of Health. The incidence of TB cases in Indonesia has never declined, there are still many cases that have not been reached and detected. Objective: To reduce transmission, morbidity and mortality rates for pulmonary tuberculosis in the Legok Health Center area. Methods: The research is a one group pre-post test with interventions and demonstration in the form of counseling and demonstration ethics of coughing and washing hands to improve public knowledge. at Posyandi Anggrek I Desa Serdang Wetan, Legok. The sample in this study was selected by non random consecutive sampling. The independent variables in this study were educational activities to increase student knowledge The dependent variables in this study were changes in knowledge. Results: 29 respondents (25 female and 4 male) had increased their knowledge after the intervension. 100% of respondents have an increase in knowledge in 20 aspects which are considered as indicators of knowledge Conclusion: Interventions conducted in the form of counseling, hand washing demonstrations, and cough ethics have succeeded in increasing public knowledge about pulmonary TB and it is hoped that in the future it will have an impact on improving people's attitudes and behavior in tackling and preventing pulmonary TB disease circulating in the community.

Abstract

Cutaneous larva migrans (CLM) is a skin infection caused by nematode larvae that penetrate actively and migrate within the epidermis of the skin. Several reports from the livestock sector report that resistance mechanisms are emerging due to the irrational use of anti-helminths. This case report describes a case of CLM that was treated with a new approach of using 5% permethrin cream topically for ten days (empirical therapy generally consists of Albendazole and Ivermectin with high resistance rates in animals). The 5% permethrin cream treatment effectively treats "creeping eruptions" with very itchy lesions on the dorsum palmar dextra with a tunnel-shaped appearance of hyperemic serpiginous papules. The patient admitted that he was delighted with the treatment without any side effects
