Abstract

This study aims to explore students’ perceptions of the hybrid learning model (a combination of online and face-to-face instruction) in the Investment Analysis course. The course was delivered in two phases: limited in-person meetings and independent assignment-based learning during the students’ community service program (KKN). A descriptive quantitative approach was applied using a Likert-scale questionnaire. The respondents consisted of 32 sixth-semester students from the Economic Education Study Program at Universitas Hamzanwadi enrolled in the 2024/2025 academic year. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze students’ perceptions of comfort, learning effectiveness, and challenges during hybrid instruction. The findings revealed that most students appreciated the flexibility of hybrid learning, especially in managing study schedules during KKN. However, many also experienced difficulties in mastering technical materials such as NPV, IRR, and Payback Period when studying independently. These results suggest that hybrid learning can be an effective alternative in constrained learning conditions, provided it is supported by adequate digital resources and structured academic guidance. This research is expected to contribute to the development of more effective hybrid learning strategies, especially for courses that require analytical and numerical understanding

Abstract

Abstract

This article presents a study on the fatwas (legal opinion) concerning inter faith marriage in Indonesia. The fatwas under the discussion are those issued by Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) in post-Independence Indonesia. Those fatwas are of special significance, both in terms of Islamic legal discourses and -perhaps more importantly- Muslims' perceptions and attitudes towards other religious communities in Indonesia. Issued by authoritative bodies of Indonesian Islam, more in particular the NU, the fatwas could be said as presenting the voices of Indonesian Muslims in their encounters with the issues of religious tolerance and plurality.DOI: 10.15408/sdi.v9i3.658

Abstract

This article seeks to explain the emergence of an Indonesian post-Orientalist study of Islam from the 1990s onwards, which results from the increased influx of Indonesian-born scholars into the study of Indonesian Islam, a field previously dominated by Western-born scholars. In contrast to Edward Said’s adverse Orientalists, to the Arabic-based dirāsah islāmiyyah, and the previous generations of Indonesian Western-educated scholars, the post-1990s generation of pesantren-and-Western-educated Indonesian scholarship has taken selectively elements from Islamic texts and traditions, humanities, and social sciences in analyzing contemporary Islamic beliefs and practices. With an eclectic intellectualism combining faith and public mission, Indonesian Muslim scholars have reinterpreted Qur’anic and classical Islamic concepts while engaging different Western theories regarding religion, law, identity, and social movements. By analyzing local and national figures and movements, using diverse sources, and negotiating the tensions between the normative, practical, scriptural, and contextual, they aim to represent Islam and Muslims in their diversity and complexity in global, national, and local dynamics. With collaborative work at home and abroad, they contribute to pursuing different trajectories with scholarship and activism for Indonesian society and beyond.

Abstract

Jerowaru sub-district is one of 21 sub-districts in East Lombok district. Many people raise buffaloes to fulfill their need for food of animal origin. However, the business is still hampered by diseases caused by worm infestation, which is economically detrimental. This study aimed to obtain data on the prevalence of helminthiasis in buffaloes and identify the types of worms that infest the animals. Fecal samples were collected from buffaloes kept in smallholder farms in several villages in the Jerowaru sub-district. Examination and identification of samples were conducted at the Microbiology and Biotechnology laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Science, University of Mataram, and the Banyumulek Animal Health laboratory. The results show that the prevalence of helminthiasis in buffaloes kept in smallholder farms in the Jerowaru subdistrict was 14.60%. The types of parasites infecting buffaloes consisted of Eimeria (13.48%) and Toxocara (1.12%). Although parasite infection intensity is categorized as mild, it is necessary to pay attention to the cleanliness of cattle pens, especially during the rainy season, so they are not wet and humid.

Abstract

Differences in meat tenderness between male and female animals are influenced by physiological and hormonal factors that affect muscle composition and connective tissue development. Understanding the effect of sex on meat tenderness is important for improving the quality of local goat breeds such as the Kacang goat, which is commonly raised under traditional semi-intensive systems. This study analyzed and compared the tenderness profile of meat from one-year-old male and female Kacang goats reared semi-intensively. Meat samples from the loin and shank of three male and three female goats were collected and tested using the Warner–Bratzler Shear Force (WBSF) method, and data were analyzed using an independent t-test to determine differences in tenderness between muscle types and sexes. The results showed a significant difference in male goats, with shank meat being tougher than loin meat, while in female goats, tenderness between both cuts was relatively uniform. These variations are attributed to physiological and hormonal differences, particularly higher testosterone levels in males that increase connective tissue density in more active muscles. In conclusion, sex significantly influences the tenderness of Kacang goat meat, with females producing meat of more consistent tenderness across different cuts, whereas males exhibit greater variation. The findings contribute to a better understanding of sex-related factors affecting meat quality and provide a scientific basis for improving goat meat production and management practices.
