Abstract

Abstract

Titanium disilicide (TiSi2) is a promising intermetallic material due to its unique properties, such as high temperature oxidation and corrosion resistance, good thermal and electrical conductivity, and low density. In this review article, various aspects of TiSi2 are discussed, including the properties and characteristics of the material, synthesis methods, applications, and development opportunities. The method used in writing this article is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by searching, collecting, and evaluating several sources related to the research object. Recent development in TiSi2 applications include semiconductors (Salicide technology which has lower resistivity), longer-lasting lithium-ion battery anodes, high temperature resistant coatings and components, hydrogen generators and defence system components. With the potential to be produced locally using Indonesian resources, such as Ilmenite and silica sand, TiSi2 can promote self-sufficiency of the national strategic industry, including in the defence and energy sectors.

Abstract

Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.), as one of the main commodities in East Java Province, where only the leaves are utilized, while the stems become agricultural waste and are often burned, contributes to air pollution. Nonetheless, these tobacco stems possess potential for high-value chemical products, such as xylitol. This study investigated the optimum operating conditions for producing xylitol from tobacco stem waste. The process employed Ultrasound-Assisted Acid Hydrolysis followed by fermentation using Candida tropicalis. Hydrolysis was conducted in an ultrasonic bath that operates at 40 kHz and 50 watts, using 0.1 N H₂SO₄ as the solvent. The resulting hydrolysate was then fermented by adding Candida tropicalis (20 mL per 100 mL substrate) and incubating for 48 hours, 30 °C, 120 rpm shaker. Optimization was conducted utilizing Response Surface Methodology method to assess the interactions between operating variables (temperature, time, and volume of solvent during hydrolysis) and xylitol yield. The study investigated the optimum operating conditions to produce xylitol were 30 °C, 50 minutes, and 150 mL of solvent, yielding xylitol at a concentration of 5.6 g/L.

Abstract

The declining regeneration of ulema presents a serious challenge to the sustainability of Islamic education in Jambi. This study investigates how the traditional Arakan Sahur ritual, once rooted in communal religious practice, has been reframed by Kiai into a leadership strategy to prepare future scholars. Emphasizing values of togetherness, discipline, social harmony, and empowerment, Arakan Sahur is adapted within pesantren to foster students’ spiritual resilience and leadership capacity. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through interviews with Kiai, students, and community leaders, alongside observations of leadership practices reflecting Arakan Sahur values. Thematic analysis, strengthened by triangulation, revealed that these values underpin an adaptive leadership model that blends local wisdom with modern approaches, including digital da’wah tools. This adaptation strengthens the relevance of Islamic education, equipping students to navigate contemporary challenges while remaining rooted in tradition. The findings affirm the importance of preserving local religious practices as dynamic resources for leadership development in pesantren. Overall, the study shows how cultural traditions can be revitalized to support sustainable ulema regeneration and contribute to educational renewal in modern Islamic contexts.

Abstract

The decline in trust in the values of Pancasila, which has led to intolerance, violence against children and women, bullying, pornography, drug abuse, and technological disruption, poses challenges in the school environment. To address these issues, it is necessary to have learning that develops character values through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) using the Paseban house model based on local wisdom representing Pancasila values utilizing Information Communication And Technology (ICT). Therefore, the aim of this research was to develop a P5 learning design through an ICT-based Paseban House model. The learning design was developed using the Educational Design Research (EDR) method analyzed through a thematic approach based on the stages of EDR method. The research results showed a crisis in students’ character as they enter adolescence, manifesting in violent behavior, decreasing respect and honor, a lack of responsibility and honesty, thus necessitating learning to prevent this crisis through the P5 learning design with the Paseban house model based on local customs and culture values. To facilitate P5 learning with the Paseban house model, this learning design utilized ICT, specifically the Learning Management System (LMS), as an easily accessible learning innovation regardless of time and place due to the rapid technological advancements and the spread of COVID-19.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Corruption Eradication Law in suppressing corrupt practices in the public sector in Indonesia. Corruption in the public sector is one of the biggest challenges in creating clean and accountable governance. The research uses a descriptive-qualitative approach, by collecting data through literature reviews, in-depth interviews with legal experts, and analysis of legal documents and reports of corruption cases handled by related institutions such as the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Police, and the Attorney General's Office. The research results show that although the Corruption Eradication Law has provided a comprehensive legal framework, its implementation still faces various challenges. The main obstacles include weak coordination between law enforcement agencies, political influence that weakens the independence of institutions such as the Corruption Eradication Committee, and limited application of technology in public sector oversight. In addition, a systemic culture of corruption in various public institutions slows down the expected changes. However, law enforcement efforts supported by the active role of civil society and the media have shown a positive impact in increasing public awareness of the dangers of corruption. Implementing preventive measures, such as strengthening technology-based systems of transparency and accountability and anti-corruption education, is seen as a key element in maximizing the effectiveness of this policy. This research recommends institutional reform, increased legal protection for whistleblowers, and strong political commitment to strengthen efforts to eradicate corruption. With these strategic steps, it is hoped that the Corruption Eradication Law will be more effective in suppressing corrupt practices in the public sector systematically and sustainably.

Abstract

This research aims to examine in depth how transformational leadership is carried out by Islamic boarding school principals in forming a professional work culture in a traditional Islamic education environment. Using a qualitative approach of a case study, this study explores the strategies, dynamics, and impact of leadership on institutional change. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and analysis of institutional documents. The results of the study show that the head of the pesantren plays a key role as an agent of change through three main approaches: (1) digitalization-based structure and management, (2) strengthening human resources through the ustaz regeneration system and continuous evaluation, and (3) internalizing the Islamic values of Aswaja into the professional work practices of students and staff. These three aspects encourage the formation of a collaborative, accountable, and quality-oriented work culture. This research confirms that transformational leadership is not only effective in the context of modern management, but also able to adapt to the religious values of Islamic boarding schools. The practical implication of this research is the need to develop a value-based and innovative leadership model in Islamic educational institutions, which emphasizes not only spiritual attainment but also institutional effectiveness professionally.

Abstract

Despite its abundant natural resources, Riau Province confronts significant challenges, notably forest fires attributed to agricultural practices and land conversion for palm oil cultivation. This article seeks to examine the difficulties encountered by local ‘ulamā’ in addressing environmental issues within Riau Province. The study employs a socio-legal framework to elucidate the responses of local ‘ulamā’ to these challenges, particularly through the application of religious teachings, referred to as eco-fatwas, to comprehend and address the environmental problems prevalent within the region. Utilizing a methodological approach that incorporates in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis, the study concludes that the eco-fatwas disseminated by local ‘ulamā’ confront complex challenges, including economic competition, political interests, sectoral egos, and power hegemony. Consequently, this research emphasizes the necessity for the concurrent implementation of cross-community and cross-policy da’wah strategies to effectively mitigate environmental degradation in Riau Province.
