Abstract

The rapid advancement and increasing demand for Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) technology have drawn considerable attention in various sectors, including commercial, research, and military, particularly in marine and shallow water applications. USVs have the potential to revolutionize monitoring systems in remote areas while reducing labor costs. One critical requirement for USVs is their ability to autonomously integrate Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) technology, enabling self-reliant operation without constant human oversight. However, current study for USV shown the use of traditional method using color detection which is inadequate to detect object with unstable lighting condition. This study addresses the challenge of enabling Autonomous Surface Vehicles (ASVs) to operate with minimal human intervention by enhancing their object detection and classification capabilities. In dynamic environments, such as water surfaces, accurate and rapid object recognition is essential. To achieve this, we focus on the implementation of deep learning algorithms, including the YOLO algorithm, to empower USVs with informed navigation decision-making capabilities. Our research contributes to the field of robotics by designing an affordable USV prototype capable of independent operation characterized by precise object detection and classification. By bridging the gap between advanced visualization techniques and autonomous USV technology, we envision practical applications in remote monitoring and marine operations with object detection. This paper presents the initial phase of our research, emphasizing significance of deep learning algorithms for enhancing USV navigation and decision-making in dynamic environmental conditions, resulting in mAP of 99.51%, IoU of 87.80%, error value of the YOLOv4-tiny image processing algorithm is 0.1542.

Abstract

Chatbot technology, a rapidly growing field, uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) methodologies to create conversational AI bots. Contextual understanding is essential for chatbots to provide meaningful interactions. Still, to date chatbots often struggle to accurately interpret user input due to the complexity of natural language and diverse fields, hence the need for a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to investigate the motivation behind the creation of chatbots, their development procedures and methods, notable achievements, challenges and emerging trends. Through the application of the PRISMA method, this paper contributes to revealing the rapid and dynamic progress in chatbot technology with NLP learning models, enabling sophisticated and human-like interactions on the trends observed in chatbots over the past decade. The results, from various fields such as healthcare, organization and business, virtual personalities, to education, do not rule out the possibility of being developed in other fields such as chatbots for cultural preservation while suggesting the need for supervision in the aspects of language comprehension bias and ethics of chatbot users. In the end, the insights gained from SLR have the potential to contribute significantly to the advancement of chatbots on NLP as a comprehensive field.

Abstract

This study uses the Anomaly Transformer model to find anomalies in photovoltaic energy generation in Malang, Indonesia. The main background of this study is the lack of satellite monitoring in this region and the importance of annual data for electricity generation forecasting. Temperature scattered direct solar radiation, and hourly electricity production are all part of the dataset used which is only available since 2019. Anomalies were detected at 05.00 and 16.00 WIB, indicating instability in the energy supply due to high temperatures in the morning and heavy rain in the afternoon. Detection of these anomalies is important to improve the efficiency and reliability of photovoltaic systems, reduce operational costs, and reduce the risk of system failure. Indonesia has many challenges for photovoltaic energy generation due to its unique location, with many islands located close to the equator. The use of the Anomaly Transformer algorithm improves the accuracy of anomaly detection over conventional methods. This algorithm helps to find complex patterns in very large time series. The results show that the anomaly transformer model can effectively detect anomalous patterns. It offers ideas to improve the stability and efficiency of photovoltaic systems in Malang and other areas with comparable environmental conditions. Improved energy efficiency and environmental sustainability are the results of anomaly pattern detection.

Abstract

Detecting deception has significant implications in fields like law enforcement and security. This research aims to develop an effective lie detection system using Electroencephalography (EEG), which measures the brain's electrical activity to capture neural patterns associated with deceptive behavior. Using the Muse II headband, we obtained EEG data across 5 channels from 34 participants aged 16-25, comprising 32 males and 2 females, with backgrounds as high school students, undergraduates, and employees. EEG data collection took place in a suitable environment, characterized by a comfortable and interference-free setting optimized for interviews. The research contribution is the creation of a lie detection dataset and the development of an autoencoder model for feature extraction and a deep neural network for classification. Data preparation involved several pre-processing steps: converting microvolts to volts, filtering with a band-pass filter (3-30Hz), STFT transformation with a 256 data window and 128 overlap, data normalization using z-score, and generating spectrograms from power density spectra below 60Hz. Feature extraction was performed using an autoencoder, followed by classification with a deep neural network. Methods included testing three autoencoder models with varying latent space sizes and two types of classifiers: three new deep neural network models, including LSTM, and six models using pre-trained ResNet50 and EfficientNetV2-S, some with attention layers. Data was split into 75% for training, 10% for validation, and 15% for testing. Results showed that the best model, using autoencoder with latent space size of 64x10x51 and classifier using the pre-trained EfficientNetV2-S, achieved 97% accuracy on the training set, 72% on the validation set, and 71% on the testing set. Testing data resulted in an F1-score of 0.73, accuracy of 0.71, precision of 0.68, and recall of 0.78. The novelty of this research includes the use of a cost-effective EEG reader with minimal electrodes, exploration of single and 3-dimensional autoencoders, and both non-pretrained classifiers (LSTM, 2D convolution, and fully connected layers) and pretrained models incorporating attention layers.

Abstract

This paper aims to explore the relationship between deep learning and forecasting within the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The primary objective is to systematically review 38 articles published between 2019 and 2023, following PRISMA guidelines, to understand the current landscape of deep learning forecasting for SDGs. Using data from 2019-2023 allows capturing the latest developments in deep learning forecasting for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while excluding data before 2019 and after 2023 is based on the desire to avoid including potentially less relevant or unpublished research and to maintain focus on the most current and contextually relevant literature. The methodological approach involves analyzing the application of deep learning methods for forecasting within various SDG fields and identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities. The literature review results reveal the popularity of LSTM models, challenges related to data availability, and the interconnected nature of SDGs. Additionally, the study demonstrates that deep learning models enhance forecast accuracy and computational performance, as measured by Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), and R-squared (R2). The findings underscore the importance of advanced data preparation techniques and the integration of deep learning with SDGs to improve forecasting outcomes. The novelty of this research lies in its comprehensive overview of the current landscape and its valuable insights for researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders interested in advancing sustainable development goals through deep learning forecasting. Finally, the paper suggests future research directions, including exploring the potential of hybrid forecasting models and investigating the impact of emerging technologies on SDG forecasting methodologies. Innovative methods for imputing missing values in deep learning forecasting models could be further explored to enhance predictive accuracy and robustness.
