Abstract

This research discusses the application of the spiritual values ​​and profile of Pancasila students in the educational context by referring to the philosophical views of perennialism, especially those inspired by the thoughts of Thomas Aquinas. The research was carried out using a literature study method related to Thomas Aquinas' perennialist thinking and the Pancasila Student Profile established by the government. The main focus of this research is to explain the Pancasila Student Profile which includes values ​​such as: faith, devotion to God Almighty, and noble character, global diversity, mutual cooperation, independence, critical reasoning and creativity. This profile is relevant to the spiritual values ​​expressed by Thomas Aquinas in his perennialist educational philosophy. The application of these spiritual values ​​is implemented in the Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students in schools in order to strengthen the spiritual values ​​that have existed since dozens of centuries ago. The spiritual values ​​that are explored are religious morals, personal morals, morals towards humans, morals towards nature and state morals. These five morals are in accordance with the philosophical view of perennialism from the perspective of Thomas Aquinas.

Abstract

This study explores how classroom tasks enhance students’ communicative competence in an English for Receptionists training program using Project-Based Learning (PJBL). By incorporating role-playing, simulations, and task-based interactions reflecting real-life scenarios such as guest greetings, check-ins, complaint handling, and local knowledge sharing, the program aims to develop four components of communicative competence: grammatical, sociolinguistic, discourse, and strategic. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through classroom observations, interviews, and document analysis, then analyzed thematically. Findings show that tailored classroom tasks improve students’ ability to use appropriate grammar and vocabulary, adjust communication to social contexts, organize coherent responses, and employ strategies to overcome communication barriers. The study highlights the critical role of classroom tasks in bridging the gap between theoretical learning and professional demands, offering practical insights for educators to design effective ESP curricula tailored to the hospitality sector.

Abstract

This study examines the pragmatic analysis of deixis in the script of the 2012 animated film Hotel Transylvania. The study utilises a qualitative descriptive research approach to define the type of deixis, elucidate their function of deixis, and analyze their pragmatic role, encompassing personal, spatial, temporal, discourse, and societal deixis, as manifested in the film's conversation. Employing Yule’s (1996) and Levinson’s (1983) frameworks, the results indicate that personal deixis predominates the script, delineating relationships and emotional profundity, especially between Dracula and his daughter, Mavis. Spatial deixis differentiates the monster hotel as a secure refuge from the human realm, hence reinforcing theme dichotomies. Temporal deixis organises the narrative chronology, generating suspense and emphasising generational disparities. Discourse deixis preserves cohesiveness and amplifies humour, whereas social deixis highlights hierarchy and closeness in character interactions. The study emphasises that deixis not only aids communication but also enriches storytelling by connecting linguistic expressions to wider narrative and emotional contexts. This research enhances pragmatic studies by providing insights on deixis in animated films, specifically in interactions between human and supernatural characters, thereby deepening the comprehension of language use in varied narrative contexts.

Abstract

Character education is the main foundation in building a young generation with integrity and responsibility. This research uses case study research with a descriptive qualitative approach. This research aims to develop a moral values-based curriculum to improve student character education in elementary schools. Even though character education is considered important, challenges in its implementation often arise, such as a lack of integration of moral values ​​in the existing curriculum and low student awareness of the importance of morals and ethics. By developing a curriculum that includes learning objectives, materials, methods and evaluation that are integrated with character values, it is hoped that it can instill a positive personality and encourage students to socialize and be responsible. The research results show that the implementation of a moral values-based curriculum not only increases students' honest and disciplined attitudes, but also increases their participation in learning. Thus, character education must be an integral part of the curriculum to create a young generation who is not only academically intelligent but also has good morals.

Abstract

In the twenty-first century, the education world must fulfill the demands for teaching and learning connected to thinking abilities. For people who are more nuanced and intellectual, the ability to think is necessary. Students must be able to think to reach their learning objectives. Teachers face dilemmas in the classroom in terms of higher-order thinking skills. Teachers incorporate higher-order thinking skills into the teaching and learning process to provide experiences to students, especially in answering questions about higher-order thinking skills. Students often have difficulty answering HOTS questions. As a result, students have difficulty answering reading comprehension questions. This study aimed to explore what students' LOTS and HOTS were in response to reading questions. This type of research is descriptive and qualitative. Data was collected by giving a reading test to 18 students. The instrument used in collecting data is a questionnaire. The data analysis technique is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that the student's ability to answer reading questions based on the LOTS was good. Second, the ability of students to answer reading questions based on HOTS is lacking. Third, the difference in student's ability to answer reading questions based on LOT and HOT is enough. As a result of these findings, students' ability to answer reading questions based on LOTS and HOTS should be improved.

Abstract

Essentialism is a philosophical stream that emphasizes culture and efforts to prepare humans for life. The independent curriculum aims to improve the education system in Indonesia during the pandemic and post-pandemic as well as to form a Profil Pelajar Pancasila. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using library research. The implication of this research is the conformity of the views in this essentialist philosophy to the independent curriculum.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa teori belajar kognitif Bruner dari kajian studi pustaka yang relevan dan mendeskripsikan implikasi teori belajar kognitif Bruner dalam model pembelajaran kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode library research, teknik pengumpulan data studi dokumen. Hasil dari penelitian studi pustaka menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Bruner menganggap manusia sebagai pemikir, pemroses, dan pencipta informasi; (2) tiga proses kognitif yang berlangsung dalam belajar yaitu: memperoleh informasi baru, transformasi pengetahuan, dan evaluasi; (3) supaya pengetahuan dapat dengan mudah ditransformasikan perlu memperhatikan empat tema pendidikan untuk perkembangan siswa yaitu; struktur pengetahuan, kesiapan, intuisi dan motivasi; (4) proses pembelajaran dapat terlaksana dengan baik melalui tiga tahapan perkembangan kognitif yaitu: enaktif, ikonik, dan simbolik tetapi urutan tahapan berpikir atau perkembangan kognitif tersebut tidak dikaitkan dengan usia siswa, Bruner lebih menekankan bagaimana siswa mengeksplorasi potensi yang dimiliki; (5) Bruner mengembangkan model belajar penemuan atau discovery learning. Model pembelajaran discovery learning yang dikembangkan Bruner dengan tiga tahapan perkembangan kognitif siswa (enaktif, ikonik, dan simbolik) merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran yang diterapkan dalam kurikulum 2013 di Indonesia.

Abstract

Memaksimalkan kualitas belajar peserta didik dengan menggunakan metode Learning By Doing. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah uintuk mengetahui metode Learning By Doing. model pembelajaran learning by doing artinya sebuah konsep belajar menggunakan melakukan serta mengerjakan secara aktif, yaitu sebuah pandangan pendidikan pragmatisme berdasarkan dua alasan krusial: yang pertama adalah suatu takdir Tuhan bahwa anak merupakan makhluk ciptaan yang aktif aktif, yang kedua adalah melalui bekerja anak by doing yaitu bahwa siswa perlu terlibat dalam proses belajar secara impulsive/spontan. Dalam hal ini akan membantu peserta didik untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan belajar aktif pada proses pembelajaran. Penelitian yang akan digunakan adalah jenis penelitian kualitatif. Desain rancangan penelitian disusun oleh peneliti menggunakan Kajian Literatur. harapan dari Literatur ini bisa memaksmalkan kualitas belajar melalui metode Learning By Doing pada Sekolah. Hasil dari metode ini adalah peserta didik mampu merangsang dan bersungguh-sungguh dalam proses belajar mengajar sehingga keaktifan peserta didik dapat maksimal dan target tercapai sesuai harapan.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan dan model pembelajaran tematik di Sekolah Dasar dalam pandangan teori Konstruktivisme Vygotsky. Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni penelitian kualitatif, dengan metode deskriptif. Penelitian ini juga merujuk pada model studi kepustakaan (library research) yang mana objek yang di kaji pada penelitian ini berasal dari buku, catatan, Jurnal, transkrip, laporan penelitian dan dokumen lain yang dapat ditemukan dan terkait dengan teori belajar Konstruktivisme Vygotsky dan pembelajaran tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran tematik di Sekolah Dasar dalam pandangan teori Konstruktivisme Vygotsky adalah melalui pendekatan scientific yang dilakukan melalui proses mengamati, menanya, mencoba, menalar, dan mengkomunikasikan. Model yang digunakan adalah model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (Problem Based Learning), model Pembelajaran Berbasis Projek (Project Based Learning), dan model Pembelajaran Melalui Penyingkapan/Penemuan (Discovery/Inquiry Learning). Pembelajaran tematik lebih menghendaki peserta didik untuk bertukar fikiran atau diskusi dengan teman sebaya maupun orang yang lebih mampu untuk berkonsultasi, hal ini sesuai dengan implikasi teori belajar Konstruktivisme Vygotsky yang menghendaki pembelajaran yang menempatkan pembelajaran berorientasi pada student center.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui program kegiatan pembiasaan harian dalam menanamkan karakter siswa SD Negeri 03 Bejen Karanganyar dipandang dari perspektif teori belajar behaviorisme. Menurut teori behaviorisme Albert Bandura, belajar adalah mengubah tingkah laku peserta didik melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu tahap perhatian, tahap penyimpanan dalam ingatan, tahap reproduksi, dan tahap motivasi. Hal ini diwujudkan dalam sebuah pembiasaan harian. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa program pembiasaan harian maupun mingguan baik yang terjadwal maupun kondisional yang dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 03 Bejen Karanganyar dapat membentuk sikap peserta didik yang berkarakter. Karakter yang terbentuk yaitu religius, disiplin, bertanggung jawab, toleransi, hormat dan santun, cinta tanah air, semangat kebangsaan, jujur, peduli lingkungan maupun sosial. Keberhasilan pembentukan karakter didukung sepenuhnya oleh lingkungan, proses pendidikan, dan para pengajar yang selalu menjadi contoh bagi peserta didik. Oleh karena itu tugas utama pengajar tidak hanya mengajarkan ilmu ( transfer of knowledge) tetapi juga mengajarkan nilai-nilai kehidupan (transfer of value).
