Abstract

Introduction: Coronavirus Disease-2019 known as COVID-19 has spread rapidly worldwide, changing many aspects of life, including the functional status. Therefore, this study aims to assess the relationship between disease severity and the functional status of COVID-19 patients after recovery in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 109 post-COVID-19 patients who had been cured for more than 4-8 weeks in a Banda Aceh, Indonesia hospital. The history of disease severity of COVID-19 was collected from medical records. The functional status was assessed using the Post-COVID-19 Functional Status Scale (PCFS) questionnaire and divided into five categories: no functional limitation, negligible, slight, moderate, and severe. The relationship between the severity of COVID-19 and functional status was assessed statistically using the Spearman rank test. Results: Out of 109 selected respondents, there was one patient with mild severity, and 68, 37, and three patients have a history of moderate, severe, and very severe COVID-19, respectively. Those imply the functional status with no functional limitation (6%), negligible (21%), slight (4%), moderate (42%), and severe functional limitation (28%). In addition, fatigue was the most common symptom that persisted among respondents. Furthermore, the statistical result showed that the history of COVID-19 severity had a significant relationship with post-COVID-19 functional status (p<0.05). Conclusions: This study showed that post-COVID-19 cases have varying functional limitations ranging from negligible to severe. The COVID-19 severity significantly correlates with the functional status post-recovery. Hence, it is recommended to conduct a monitoring program to regularly assess the post-COVID-19 functional status, especially in outpatient clinics of the government healthcare center, to enhance the research findings.

Abstract

Every organizational institution needs a communication strategy to attract public attention. On the management side, the institution implements a program planning system based on religious moments, transparent financial reporting, annual audits by BPK and sharia audits, as well as a trust-based donor relations system and direct involvement. This study aims to analyze communication and management strategies in the fundraising process at Sahabat Yatim Medan Branch, a social institution that focuses on the empowerment of orphans and poor people. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that the strategies used by this institution are based on storytelling strategies, social education, and optimization of social media such as Instagram, WhatsApp, and TikTok to reach young donors and families. The main obstacle faced is maintaining public trust amid increasing saturation of social campaigns and embezzlement scandals by other philanthropic institutions. This study concludes that the synergy between empathetic communication strategies and professional management is the key to sustainable fundraising success. These findings can serve as a model of practice for other social institutions in building public trust and improving fundraising effectiveness

Ngingas Village is a small, densely populated village whose majority of the population embraces Islam and has the same livelihood, namely working in the home metal industry, so it needs to be explored more deeply, which is research whose data is obtained from the actual location. While the method used is descriptive qualitative, namely the data obtained are presented in the form of interviews, documentation, and triangulation and then described so as to provide clarity.

Abstract

Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the percentage of unmet need for health services in Indonesia decreased from 6.09% in 2020 to 5.22% in 2023, with a decrease of 0.87 percentage points. Unmet need refers to an unmet need for health services, caused by factors of accessibility, availability, cost, or awareness. This study aims to identify changes in the availability and accessibility of health services during this period. The results show that there is a significant gap between the western provinces (Java and Sumatra), which have improved access and quality of health services, and the eastern provinces (Papua and Maluku), which still lack medical facilities and personnel. 2023 shows an increase in the number of medical personnel in urban areas, but uneven distribution is still a problem, especially in rural and remote areas. This study uses a quantitative method with an independent t-test. In conclusion, despite the overall decline in unmet demand, the gap between urban and rural areas and between western and eastern parts of Indonesia remains significant.
