Abstract

The phenomenon of bullying in elementary schools does not only involve perpetrators and victims, but also bystanders who play a crucial role in either reinforcing or reducing the intensity of bullying. This study aims to describe the profile of bystander bullying among students at SDN Samparwadi 1. The research employed a descriptive quantitative method with data collected through questionnaires and observations. The subjects consisted of 150 students from grades IV to VI. The findings indicate that the majority of students fall into the category of passive bystanders, who tend to merely witness without taking action, while a smaller portion act as defenders who attempt to protect the victims. Factors influencing bystander behavior include fear of becoming a target, peer group norms, and limited understanding of appropriate ways to help victims. These results highlight the need for character education programs and school interventions focusing on strengthening empathy, moral courage, and students’ social skills to minimize bullying.

Abstract

This research discusses the development of a Guidance and Counseling model based on an Islamic perspective that is relevant to the needs of Indonesian society. The main problem is the dominance of Western psychological approaches in counseling services in Indonesia, which often ignore the spiritual dimension, even though the majority of Indonesian society is religious. This research aims to integrate Islamic values into Guidance and Counseling practices in order to improve individual psychological and spiritual well-being. The research method involves literature analysis and case studies at the IKIP Siliwangi Cimahi campus. This approach emphasizes the integration of Al-Qur'an and Hadith values in the counseling process, such as the use of prayer, dhikr, and advice based on Islamic teachings. The research results show that the Islamic Guidance and Counseling model is able to provide holistic solutions, including psychological and spiritual aspects, and is more relevant to Indonesian culture. This model increases the effectiveness of Guidance and Counseling services in helping individuals overcome problems, develop personal potential, and achieve prosperity in the world and the hereafter.

Abstract

Machine translation (MT) is fundamental in translating from source to target languages. This demand has indicated exponential growth over the past years due to the rapid development of this artificial intelligence. With the increasing use of MT, where the MT itself has its benefits and downsides, researchers have actively conducted MT research for more than seven decades. This paper addresses three key research questions: the theoretical frameworks adopted in MT studies, the benefits and drawbacks of MT in both language learning and professional translation. After discussing and summarizing the three key research questions, the author concludes and ponders implications for MT users and trainers and new directions for future research. Keywords: Machine translation; translation in language learning; professional translation; benefits of MT; downsides of MT.

Abstract

Background: This study examines the educational transformation at SD Muhammadiyah Pacul in response to the demands of the digital era. The main focus is to explore how the school implements digital technology in teaching and learning processes and how this affects the quality of Islamic education. Purpose: The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of technology integration and provide recommendations for strengthening institutional capacity. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the obstacles faced by teachers in the implementation of thematic learning based on the 2013 curriculum at MI Al-Aziz. The research focuses on three key areas: (1) the implementation of thematic learning, (2) the challenges encountered by teachers, and (3) solutions to overcome these obstacles. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, using observation, interviews, and questionnaires as primary data collection methods. The results indicate that the thematic learning implementation has not been fully optimal due to a lack of teacher preparedness in lesson planning, limited resources, and inadequate training. Teachers also face difficulties in integrating various subjects into a coherent thematic approach. The study suggests that improving teacher training and providing better resources can enhance the implementation of the curriculum and resolve existing challenges.
