Abstract

Having task commitment is an obligation when dealing with problems in the workplace, which is specifically designed in an independent study program based on deep learning activity. The reason for this is that task commitment can encourage students to pay more attention to their work, as evidenced by discipline, consistency, and a strong work ethic. This article aims to reflect on the level of task commitment possessed by participants in Program Zenius Studi Independen Bersertifikat (PZSIB) Batch II through a quantitative descriptive review. The measuring instruments for this research use the Task Commitment scale. The participants in Program Zenius Studi Independen Bersertifikat Batch II demonstrated a high level of task commitment, with a percentage of 37.2%. As a result, the participants’ task commitment has an impact on achieving the main goal of the independent study program, which is to produce reliable and tough graduates in terms of competence and mentality in dealing with changing times, particularly in engaging with the world of work. The FoMO scale has 26 items with a reliability value of 0.947. The analysis test uses the assumption test and simple linear regression hypothesis test. The results of this study indicate a significant effect of loneliness on the FoMO of teenage K-pop fans, with a significant value of 0.005. The magnitude of the influence of loneliness is 7.8% on FoMO in teenage K-pop fans.

The measurement tool for this study uses three scales, namely the empathy scale, the self-esteem scale, and the cyberbullying scale. The data analysis technique uses multiple regression analysis to determine the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between empathy and self-esteem with cyberbullying in vocational high school students. That is, the higher the empathy and self-esteem, the cyberbullying behavior of low vocational high school students. On the other hand, the lower the level of empathy and self-esteem, the higher the level of cyberbullying among professional vocational high school students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an assertiveness training module to prevent bullying in Islamic boarding schools, addressing the need for culturally relevant interventions. While existing programs offer general social skills training, few are tailored to the unique environment of pondok pesantren. The Research and Development (R&D) method was chosen for this study. This study followed the Borg & Gall development model modified and simplified from ten to seven steps. Data were collected using a validation questionnaire assessed by material experts, media experts, and prospective users (Musyrifah). The results of the study showed that the assertive training module was declared feasible in terms of content and media based on validation by media experts (77%) and materials (71%), with a score of the category "feasible." In the next step, a limited field trial involving seven participants resulted in 81.78%, categorized as "Very Feasible." These results indicate that the module is acceptable and relevant to the intended educational environment. A small trial group, typical of developing-country contexts, limited the study. Further large-scale testing is recommended. This study presents an innovative, context-specific tool for bullying prevention in Islamic boarding schools. It contributes to the limited literature on culturally tailored educational interventions and offers a foundation for future development and wider application.

Abstract

The ability to write narrative texts is a fundamental skill in English language education, especially at the Junior High School (JHS) level. However, many students face challenges in organizing ideas and writing narratives that are both structured and engaging. Differentiated Instruction (DI) offers a solution by tailoring teaching to meet the individual needs of students. This study aims to explore the implementation of DI in teaching narrative writing at JHS, particularly in English language classes. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design, focusing on two experienced English teachers and their students. The results indicated that DI significantly improved students' writing skills, particularly in organizing ideas, structuring texts, and enhancing creativity in character development and plot construction. Students in classes using DI showed increased motivation, confidence, and better use of language. Despite challenges such as diverse student abilities and limited resources, DI was found to positively impact students' writing outcomes. The study concludes that DI is an effective method for improving narrative writing skills in English classes at JHS, offering a flexible and student-centered approach to teaching.

Abstract

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Lithium is a first-line treatment for Bipolar Affective Disorder, but it has a narrow therapeutic range and has been shown to have cardiovascular side effects. This study aimed to compile the cases of lithium-induced cardiovascular abnormalities and the pathological mechanisms behind those effects. OBJECTIVES: To conduct a systematic review of case reports in adult patients who experienced cardiovascular side effects of lithium in the last 11 years. METHODS: The PRISMA method was followed to search PubMed, Wiley Online Library, ResearchGate, Springer, Semantic Scholar, and Google Scholar databases for articles from January 2013 to June 2024 using combinations of 'lithium,' 'cardiac,' 'cardiovascular,' 'side effect,' 'patient,' and 'case.' Case reports and observational studies concerning lithium use were identified for cardiovascular side effects. RESULTS: Reported cardiovascular side effects of lithium included ECG abnormalities (N=31), myocarditis (N=1), cardiomyopathies (N=4), cardiac tamponade (N=1), thrombosis (N=1), and pulmonary hypertension (N=1). Lithium causes cardiovascular abnormalities via sodium channel blockage, interference with cardiac pacemaker cells, increased serum catecholamines and serotonin, disruption of thyroid gland functions, and induction of nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, leading to hemodynamic imbalance. CONCLUSION: Lithium precipitates cardiac side effects and toxicity through direct interference with the cardiac conduction system, disruption of metabolic hormones, and multi-organ interactions.
