Abstract

This study aims to examine the actualization of living fiqh of civilization in the dynamics of social religion in the Pondok Pesantren Darul Ulum Bandung, Tulungagung. This study departs from the awareness of the importance of transforming fiqh from normative discourse into adaptive and contextual social praxis, especially in the midst of increasingly complex social changes. Through a qualitative approach and case study method, this study explores in depth the values, practice patterns, and strategies for implementing fiqh of civilization in pesantren as a response to contemporary challenges. The results of the study show that Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School practices fiqh that is not only based on text, but also considers social reality with the maqashid shari’ah approach. The developed fiqh is moderate, inclusive, and solutive to various community problems, such as issues of social justice, health, environment, and cultural pluralism. Pesantren play a strategic role as value producers and agents of social transformation that make fiqh a dynamic guide to life. The implementation of living fiqh in this pesantren can be seen in the integration of a curriculum that is responsive to contemporary issues, the involvement of santri in community empowerment activities, and collective awareness of the importance of building an Islamic civilization that is rahmatan lil 'alamin. Thus, this research confirms that the living fiqh of civilization developed by Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School is not only a renewal of Islamic thought, but also a concrete form of fiqh that lives in society and contributes significantly to equitable and sustainable social development.

Abstract

In this research we discussed about the solution of the KdV equation using Homotopy Perturbation method. The KdV equation that describing water wave equation solved by using the mixing method between Homotopy and Perturbation method. Homotopy was built with embedding parameter p∈[0,1] which undergoes a deformation process from linear problems to nonlinear problems and the assumed solution of the KdV equation is expressed in the form of a power series p up to the third order. The result show that in each order solution we obtained resonance term. for handling the condition, we used Lindsteadt-Poincare method.the wave number k2 and dispersion relation can be obtained in the second order solution as the effect of using Lindsteadt-Poincare method.

Abstract

This research discusses the formation of the Fractional Logistic model and its solution analysis, as well as its simulation to predict the Human Development Index in Cilacap Regency using the Fractional Logistic growth model. This study uses secondary data obtained from the official website of the Central Statistics Agency of Cilacap Regency. Based on these data, the growth of the Human Development Index in Cilacap Regency has increased relatively. This shows the Cilacap community's good quality of life. Based on the environmental carrying capacity value of 73, a relative growth rate per year of 0.14273269 is obtained. This model predicts the Human Development Index in Cilacap Regency in 2024 and 2025. The prediction results for 2024 of 71.47 and 2025 of 71.67 are achieved when the fractional derivative order is one. The best approximate solution is obtained when the fractional derivative order is 1, 0.95 0.90, 0.85, 0.80 and 0.75.

Abstract

Imagination plays a crucial role in childhood development, often represented through imaginary friends as emotional and cognitive companions. The movie IF (2024) presents a unique narrative that visualizes children’s imaginary friends and their deeper meanings. This research aims to analyze the characterization of imaginary friends. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research applies Albertine Minderop’s fictional characterization theory to examine how each imaginary friend is portrayed through name and dialogue. Data is collected through observation of the movie's scenes, character interactions, and dialogues. The findings reveal that imaginary friends are not merely fictional entities but serve as emotional representation of unspoken feelings such as grief, loneliness, and inner strength. This research concludes that IF (2024) offers a profound representation of how imaginary friends can accompany a child's psychological journey, bridging creativity, emotional growth, and the struggle of letting go.

Abstract

The Effect of Discovery Learning on the Reading Comprehension Skills of Eighth-Grade Students at SMP Labschool UNTAD Palu. This study aims to examine the effect of the Discovery Learning model on the reading comprehension skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Labschool UNTAD Palu. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group was employed, involving two groups: an experimental group taught using Discovery Learning and a control group taught with conventional methods. The sample consisted of 36 students selected through purposive sampling. The results revealed that the experimental group showed a significant improvement in post-test scores, with an average of 76.00 compared to their pretest average of 59.00. In contrast, the control group exhibited only a slight increase from 50.18 to 60.00. Statistical analysis using an independent t-test confirmed a significant difference between the two groups (p < 0.05), indicating that Discovery Learning effectively enhances students' reading comprehension.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Jigsaw technique in improving reading comprehension among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 16 Palu. Reading comprehension is essential for academic success, yet many students struggle due to low motivation, limited vocabulary, and anxiety when reading English texts. To address these issues, a quasi-experimental design was used involving an experimental group taught with the Jigsaw technique and a control group taught using conventional methods. Both groups completed pre-tests and post-tests to assess their reading comprehension before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant improvement in the experimental group’s reading comprehension scores compared to the control group. The mean post-test score for the experimental group was 82.47, while the control group scored 61.10, indicating a notable positive impact of the Jigsaw technique. Statistical analysis confirmed this difference was significant at the 0.05 level. The Jigsaw technique fostered cooperative learning by increasing student engagement and encouraging active participation. Group discussions allowed students to share interpretations and collaboratively analyze texts, which enhanced their ability to identify main ideas, supporting details, and text structures. Additionally, role division and repeated group interactions improved information recall and retention. In conclusion, the Jigsaw technique is an effective instructional strategy for enhancing students’ reading comprehension, especially at the literal level. These findings support incorporating cooperative learning methods in English teaching to help students overcome common reading comprehension difficulties.
