Abstract

Urban flooding has emerged as a recurrent and escalating challenge in many Southeast Asian cities, including Palembang, Indonesia. Despite various mitigation efforts by local authorities, the effectiveness of such policies remains inconsistent, often due to limited community engagement. This study investigates the extent to which flood mitigation policies influence community participation and how this participation contributes to policy effectiveness. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected from 81 residents across 27 flood-prone neighborhoods using structured questionnaires. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression models were employed to analyze the relationship between specific policy domains, particularly drainage improvement and waste management (P4), and levels of community engagement. The results reveal a strong positive correlation (r = 0.81) between P4 policy implementation and community participation, with regression analysis indicating that 67% of the variance in public engagement is explained by policy variables. These findings highlight the critical role of inclusive policy design, community-based monitoring, and education-driven interventions in flood risk reduction. However, challenges such as inconsistent enforcement and limited technological adoption remain. The study concludes by recommending the institutionalization of local task forces and curriculum-integrated environmental education to sustain community involvement. This research contributes to the literature on participatory disaster governance and provides actionable insights for urban policymakers and planners in the Global South.

Abstract

This research discusses efforts to utilise technology to accelerate tax collection with a focus on training on the use of the Land and Building Tax (PBB) application for Lempangang Village residents. As part of the effort to increase public awareness and participation in tax payments, the training aims to provide practical knowledge on how to access, fill in, and report PBB obligations using digital applications that have been provided by the local government. By utilising technology, it is expected that the tax payment process will become more efficient, transparent, and easily accessible to the community, thereby contributing to increased local revenue and successful village development. The training involves villagers through a hands-on and interactive approach, and is expected to motivate them to be more active in fulfilling their tax obligations, which is one of the sources of funding for local development.

Abstract

Abstract

In the digital era, sustainable software development faces challenges in meeting dynamic user needs while ensuring data management security and efficiency. Effective methods are needed to create an adaptive product backlog. This study uses Focus Group Discussion (FGD) involving five experts to identify customer needs in sustainable products. The research aims to formulate a backlog that encompasses multi-tenant security, API integration, and efficient data management. FGD results indicate that tenant security and CI/CD implementation are essential for continuous updates, while performance statistics are necessary for data-driven decision-making. This study recommends using the AHP method to establish numeric priorities and the Delphi method to achieve expert consensus. These results support the development of a backlog that is more responsive to market changes and needs.

Abstract

Traditional herbal medicine businesses often face significant challenges in effectively reaching their target markets, particularly due to limitations in marketing capabilities. This study investigates the marketing strategies employed by a traditional herbal medicine enterprise that has operated for seven years but continues to experience limited market penetration and promotional effectiveness. The research aims to identify the current marketing practices and explore strategic approaches to enhance product appeal and expand consumer reach across diverse demographic groups. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through in-depth interviews and field observations involving nine informants, including the business owner, employees, and consumers. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The findings reveal that the enterprise's marketing strategy comprises consumer segmentation, product development, pricing, distribution, and promotional activities. The primary customer segment ranges from 25 to 50 years of age, typically with a habitual consumption of herbal medicine. The business emphasizes product variety, practical and hygienic packaging, and quality assurance. Pricing strategies are aligned with perceived value and product benefits. Effective distributor and supplier communication supports consistent promotional efforts. Offline promotional methods such as bazaars and exhibitions were found to be more successful in engaging customers compared to social media outreach. This study highlights the need for tailored marketing strategies that leverage both traditional and digital channels to optimize market reach for traditional herbal medicine products.
