Abstract

The learning process is a communication that involves teachers, students and subject matter. Learning media is needed to clarify the material and facilitate effective interaction between teachers and students. Along with the development of technology, Augmented Reality (AR) is one of the potential learning media. AR is able to improve concept understanding with interesting and interactive 3D visualizations, such as in the human digestive system material in the Merdeka Phase F class XI curriculum. However, AR also has drawbacks such as the lack of immediate feedback and distraction for students. To overcome this, innovation is needed, for example by integrating audio and video in AR media, thus providing a more thorough and effective learning experience. This innovation can support active and collaborative inquiry-based learning, enrich student understanding, as well as facilitate dynamic formative assessment. With collaboration between educators, technology developers and policy makers, the challenges of AR implementation can be overcome. The integration of this technology in education has the potential to improve the quality of learning and the development of 21st century skills such as creativity and problem solving. Key words: media innovation, augmented reality, biology learning

Abstract

Abstract is This study used a qualitative approach and descriptive-qualitative method to examine code-mixing and code-switching among sixth-semester students in the English Education Program at Mathla'ul Anwar University Banten during the 2022-2023 academic year. Five microteaching videos were analyzed. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and checklists. The study found that Subjects A to E used three types of code-mixing according to Hoofman’s theory: intra-sentential, intra-lexical, and mixing involving pronunciation changes. Based on Poplack’s theory, the types of code-switching observed were tag-switching, inter-sentential switching, and intra-sentential switching. Subject A showed the highest frequency of code-mixing with 30 instances (26 intra-sentential and 4 intra-lexical) and the highest frequency of code-switching with 30 instances (1 tag-switching, 14 inter-sentential, and 15 intra-sentential). Code-mixing and code-switching were influenced by bilingual or multilingual abilities, the need to fit social or situational contexts, and specific communication needs. The study suggested further research in sociolinguistics to better understand these phenomenon. The researcher hoped the findings would be useful for readers, students, and researcher interested in code-mixing and code-switching. Keywords: Code Mixing, Code Switching and Sociolinguistics

Abstract

Lecture analysis in the core courses of the study program contributes to the evaluation of the curriculum used. This field study was carried out to analyze Quantum Physics lectures from the perspective of a university curriculum based on Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) and Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Data collection techniques were carried out through observing the implementation of learning in the Quantum Physics course, interviews with lecturers teaching quantum physics courses, and reviewing curriculum tools in the form of curriculum books, semester lecture plans (RPS), and assessment documents. The instruments used refer to content standards, process standards and learning assessment standards listed in Permendikbud Number 3 of 2020, Permendikbudristek Number 56 of 2022, and Permendikbudristek Number 53 of 2023. The participants involved in this research were a lecturer and 29 students of the undergraduate physics education study program at one of the universities in Garut Regency. The lecturer in question is a lecturer who teaches quantum physics courses, while the students in question are final year students who are taking quantum physics courses in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. Data collection was carried out over the period October – November 2024. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively using a data triangulation approach. The results of data analysis show that in the Bachelor of Physics Education curriculum, the Quantum Physics course is in the group of upper-level compulsory courses with physics concept study material. From an MBKM perspective, this course can be converted to Program Pertukaran Mahasiswa (PMM) and Program Magang dan Studi Independen Bersertifikat (MSIB), but cannot be converted to the Teaching Campus Program. Conversion to the PMM program is carried out by taking courses in other study programs that have course learning outcomes that are related to quantum physics. Conversions to the MSIB program are carried out at companies or agencies related to the application of quantum physics concepts. From an OBE perspective, this course contributes to graduate learning outcomes in Specific Skills and supports the graduate's profile as a Physics Teacher. The special skill in question is being able to apply mathematical models in explaining physical phenomena in learning.
