Abstract

This research investigates the impact of new HR practices to WLB and talent retention in a multinational ICT company in Indonesia. Utilising a quantitative descriptive correlational design, this research examines the contribution of innovative HR policies including work flexibility and welfare to the balance between employees' work-life matters as well as how such balances impact on employees' intention to stay in the organisation. Data collection was done with structured questionnaires, with a total of 370 respondents selected using simple random sampling technique. Based on the Multiple Linear Regression Analysis shows that Innovative HR practices has a positive significant both directional influence work-life balance which is signified by regression coefficients (B) = 0.62 and R²=0.38 (Table 3). Additionally, the joint effect of innovative HR practices and work-life balance on talent retention is also meaningful with regression coefficients of 0.40 at innovation HR practices side and 0.45 at work life balance side (R²=0.47). The conclusion that can be drawn from these findings is that organisations which implement innovative HR policies attract a more loyal employee base, reduce staff turnover and can also nurture a positive impact towards the public image of an organisation (Steur et al., 2012). The article also provides theoretical contributions and practical implications for HR management to design polices that address work-life balance so as to facilitate talent retention thereby leading to enhance organizational sustainability and productivity.

Abstract

Surgical delays represent a major challenge in hospital services, potentially leading to negative impacts on patients' medical conditions, operational efficiency, as well as patient and staff satisfaction. This study aims to identify and analyze hospital management strategies to minimize surgical delays at Tabanan Regional Public Hospital (RSUD Tabanan). A qualitative method with a descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with six informants, including a surgeon, an anesthesiologist, a nurse, a patient, a patient's family member, and hospital management. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis. The findings revealed four primary factors contributing to surgical delays at RSUD Tabanan: (1) Medical conditions, such as unstable blood pressure, uncontrolled blood glucose levels, and infections; (2) Logistical and administrative issues, including limited operating room availability due to equipment malfunction and infrastructure problems; (3) Patient-related factors, such as lack of understanding regarding the surgical schedule; and (4) Medical team factors, including a lack of commitment to the surgical schedule and a shortage of nursing staff. Strategies proposed to address these issues include: (1) improving preoperative medical condition monitoring, (2) upgrading infrastructure and conducting routine maintenance of medical equipment, (3) implementing a digital information system to provide more accurate surgical schedules to patients, and (4) strengthening coordination and discipline among the medical team through a reward and punishment policy related to schedule adherence.

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the quality of public services at the Rawang Empat Subdistrict Office, Bandar Petalangan District, Pelalawan Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using the SERVQUAL model, which includes five dimensions: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The results indicate that public service quality is not yet optimal across all dimensions. Major obstacles include limited facilities, lack of standardized procedures, and minimal use of digital technology. Although the staff are friendly and services are relatively fast, the absence of clear procedures reduces public trust. This study recommends strengthening SOPs, improving staff capacity, and developing digital-based public service systems. Keywords: Public Service, Service Quality, Subdistrict, Servqual, Service Standard.

Abstract

The widespread discharge of phenol into the environment has posed a threat to the environment. Phenol waste in the aquatic environment is mainly due to its involvement in various industries such as the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and wood product sectors. Recent studies have shown that industrial waste contains phenol in the concentration range of 2.8 to 6800 mg/L. The presence of phenol in water can cause bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms, thus posing a risk to the food chain and human health through the consumption of phenol-contaminated seafood. Long-term exposure of humans to phenol-contaminated water causes health problems such as anorexia, progressive weight loss, and liver disorders. This emphasizes the importance of addressing and reducing phenol contamination to safeguard human health. Various treatment methods have been applied, including filtration, reverse osmosis, and adsorption. Among these, adsorption is widely used due to its simplicity and cost-effectiveness, with activated carbon as the most commonly used adsorbent. This study comprehensively reviews previous studies on agricultural waste-based activated carbon (palm shell, candlenut, and rubber) for phenolic compound removal. It examines characterization data (BET, XRD, SEM-EDX, and FTIR) and adsorption performance, aiming to provide recommendations of the most promising biomass for developing efficient activated carbon.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of growth failure in children under five due to inadequate nutritional intake. The main characteristic of stunting is that the child's height is not age-appropriate, which is shorter than children of the same age. Steps to prevent stunting can be taken in various ways, including educational activities, nutrition fulfillment, and anthropometric training. Training on using anthropometry during measurement is expected to make the data collection of children's nutritional status more accurate, and the fulfillment of nutritional sources through local innovations such as independent aquaculture can contribute to providing protein sources. This community service activity aims to increase the understanding of cadres and mothers of toddlers in Gampong Pasi Jeumpa about stunting prevention. Budikdamber training aims to enable the community to fulfill protein as a source of nutrition independently. Implementing this program is through education, counseling, and training. The activity stages include several vital steps, including program preparation, program socialization with partners, and implementation of education and training. Assistance was provided to understand the training and education activities better. The evaluation was conducted to assess the overall success of the program. The activity results showed increased participants' understanding, with the percentage of understanding increasing from 55% (pre-test) to 91% (post-test). Participants better understood the factors that cause stunting and the steps to prevent stunting. Participants became more aware of how to measure using anthropometric tools. Participants also became more aware of how to cultivate fish on a small scale to fulfill the protein and vitamin needs needed for stunting prevention. [This service activity increased participants knowledge of stunting problems and improved measurement skills using anthropometric tools. Abstract

In the current era of digitalization, the implementation of a Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) has become an urgent necessity to improve service quality, accelerate administrative processes, and minimize errors in patient data management. Through an integrated system, hospitals can better coordinate human resources, logistics, and medical services. The optimization of HMIS does not solely focus on technological aspects but also includes improving human resource competencies, maintaining digital infrastructure, and enforcing internal policies that support digital transformation. One of the major challenges is the resistance of healthcare workers to the shift from manual to digital systems. Therefore, an adaptive and participatory managerial approach is needed to ensure that all hospital units accept and fully utilize information technology. An optimally implemented HMIS can have a positive impact on hospital operational efficiency, information transparency, and data-driven decision-making. Additionally, increased accuracy of medical data contributes to patient safety and performance evaluation of healthcare personnel. Thus, hospital management supported by a reliable information system becomes a vital foundation in delivering high-quality and sustainable healthcare services.
