Abstract

Misconceptions in fractions, a significant challenge in mathematics education, occur when students' conceptions do not align with scientific conceptions, yet they firmly believe in the correctness of their conceptions. These deeply rooted misconceptions are difficult to eliminate and not easily identified with conventional instruments. Therefore, this study aims to develop a valid and reliable five-tier diagnostic test instrument to identify students' misconceptions about fractions effectively. The design of this development research involves qualitative and quantitative methods using the 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). Sixty-eight seventh-grade students were involved in quantitative instrument quality testing; data were analyzed using SPSS. The final result of the development of this instrument was 12 questions declared valid and reliable. Furthermore, the instrument was applied to 30 seventh-grade students in different schools to identify their misconceptions about fractions. Based on the analysis of the combination of students' answers, it was obtained that 36.4% of students understood the concept, 8.9% were in the false positive category, 7.2% were false negative, 9.7% lacked knowledge, and 37.8% had misconceptions. It was found that the most dominant description of misconceptions (33%), namely, students assume that the smaller the denominator of a fraction, the smaller the value of the fraction. Then, it was also found that students' thinking, in general, causes misconceptions to occur. The practical implication of the results of this study is that teachers can use the instrument and identify misconceptions to develop more effective teaching methods, thereby improving mathematics education by helping students avoid and anticipate misconceptions.

Abstract

Abstract

This paper investigates the intricate relationships between market size, exchange rates, inflation, the Corruption Perception Index (CPI), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on economic growth. Utilizing a panel data approach, the study analyzes data from Indonesia, China, and Singapore over the period 2019-2023, revealing that larger market sizes significantly attract FDI due to enhanced consumer potential and investment opportunities. Additionally, stable exchange rates are found to be crucial in mitigating risks associated with currency fluctuations, thereby increasing the attractiveness of a country for foreign investors. The findings also indicate that high levels of perceived corruption negatively impact economic growth by undermining governance and investor confidence. While the direct influence of ICT on economic growth was less pronounced, its role in enhancing operational efficiency and market access is acknowledged. The paper concludes with policy recommendations aimed at fostering a conducive investment environment through market expansion, exchange rate stability, anti-corruption measures, and ICT development. These insights contribute to a deeper understanding of the dynamics influencing FDI and provide a framework for policymakers to enhance economic growth in developing countries.

Abstract

he Covid-19 pandemic is a condition where MSMEs are starting to look at the use of financial technology for their operational needs. Since 2016, 38% of people have used payment-based fintech, while access to fintech based on deposits, lending, and capital raising has reached 31%. Unfortunately, this increase is not accompanied by a good level of financial literacy education. In addition, there is a technological gap between urban and rural communities and also between users at a young age and those over 35 years old. So the solution to the problem offered is through technological literacy education by introducing the financial technology industry to rural communities, especially in Batang Kapeh District, Pesisir Selatan Regency. Sharia P2P lending is a technological innovation in financial services, where financial service providers can develop a technology that can change the traditional financial market to be more modern. Sharia P2P lending brings together lenders and loan seekers on one platform, where later lenders and loan seekers will get interest from the funds lent according to the agreement. The development of MSMEs usually has a common problem, namely capital problems. MSME actors are usually hampered by capital, they establish a business with limited capital, so that sometimes these MSME actors find it difficult to develop their business. Relying on banks in applying for loans for business capital is constrained by the terms and policies that are difficult for MSMEs to meet. This problem makes MSME actors inevitably look for other sources of capital that are easy to meet. Using the innovation of the Sharia FinTech peer to peer lending (P2P lending) model can be one of the capital solutions for MSME business actors. The purpose of this community service is to introduce the importance of capital in business, introduce fintech, provide financial literacy education about crowdfunding and mentoring to the community on the Sharia Peer-to-Peer Lending platform. The implementation method starts from needs analysis, filling out an initial questionnaire, core activities, then continuing with a final questionnaire, and ending with an evaluation. Through this activity, it is expected to be able to contribute to the direct economic empowerment of the community by providing solutions that can overcome partner problems. The target audience for this Community Partnership Program are business actors (SMEs) in the food industry sector, Batang Kapas District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra. This activity starts from planning, implementing and evaluating activities. The results of this training and mentoring activity include 1). Increasing community knowledge of aspects of business development through training in accessing market information for each SME actor, 2). Increasing knowledge and access to SME funding through the use of the Sharia P2P lending application. 3) Being able to apply the use of Sharia P2P lending technology as an alternative for business capital.

Abstract

: Fostering tax awareness among the community is very important so that the community as taxpayers, both as corporate taxpayers and individual taxpayers for the next period will become taxpayers who are always aware of taxes. Understanding by the community, whether it is an individual or an entrepreneur owning a Business Entity will benefit the community and the country, because we fully realize that taxes are very important for the sustainability of the development of the Nation and State. Ge Sapa or Generation of Tax Understanding was formed as an alternative solution that aims to assist the Director General of Taxes in increasing tax awareness. Ge Sapa comes from the Javanese word dingge sopo which means for whom. Ge Sapa was formed with the hope of providing tax awareness that will later affect the level of Indonesian tax compliance. Through Ge Sapa, it will indirectly make taxpayers understand that the tax collection will return to the interests of the people themselves.
