Abstract

This article discusses the importance of integrating Business English and soft skills in improving the competence of graduates at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Madura. By adopting a qualitative approach, this study revealed the perceptions of students and graduates regarding the relevance of these two skills in the world of work. The results show that graduates who participated in this integrated program are more confident and able to communicate effectively, both in English and interpersonal contexts. However, challenges remain in implementing this program, including limited resources and relevant teaching materials. Therefore, it is recommended that FETT Universitas Madura design a more comprehensive training program for lecturers and periodically update the curriculum in line with industry developments. This research also shows that mastery of English and soft skills not only increases the competitiveness of graduates in the job market but also contributes to the professionalism and effectiveness of teaching in the educational environment. The integration of these two skills is expected to be a model for other educational institutions to prepare competent educators who are ready to face challenges in the global era.

Abstract

Purpose: The local food processing business is essential to the Indonesian economy. Lumpangan Village in Bantaeng Regency, South Sulawesi, has great potential due to the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) product "SEHATI," which manufactures Marning Corn. However, the need on sunshine for drying limits production, reducing output during the rainy season. To address this issue, the Akademi Komunitas Industri Manufaktur Bantaeng community service programme strives to improve corn product quality through the use of mechanical dryers and the education of workers on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Methodology: This program's methodology comprises collaborating with village officials, observing SMEs, developing solutions, implementing the community service programme, and assessing the program's success. Results: Observations show that mechanical dryers are successful in resolving drying problems, and GMP education enhances product quality. Conclusions: The service program was successful in raising the marning corn production by UMKM "SEHATI" and establishing the program as a long-term initiative. In addition, the program received the full support of village officials by the successful in overcoming production constraints during the rainy season through the purchase of corn dryers and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) education. Limitations: Prior to deployment, the primary drawback was a reliance on dry weather conditions. Contributions: This programme makes a substantial contribution, with the expectation that its long-term success will help to create other SMEs in Lumpangan Village and increase the quality of Marning corn products through better drying technology and worker education.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of work ethics, work stress and workload on employee job satisfaction at PT. Nusantara Beta Farma Padang Pariaman. This type of research is associative research, namely research that asks about the relationship between two or more variables. It was found that the work ethics variable had a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction. Job stress has a negative and significant effect on employee job satisfaction. Workload has a negative and significant effect on employee job satisfaction. Work ethics, work stress and workload simultaneously have a significant effect on employee job satisfaction. the contribution of work ethics, work stress and workload influence job satisfaction at PT. Nusantara Beta Farma Padang Pariaman is 38.5% while the rest is influenced by other variables.

Abstract

The attendance tracking process for village officials in Sogaan Village has traditionally been conducted manually, leading to issues such as data inaccuracies, delayed reporting, and time wastage. This study aims to design and implement an Android-based Online Attendance System for Sogaan Village officials to address these problems. The research methodology consists of three main stages. First, a needs analysis was conducted through interviews and observations with village officials to identify required features. Second, system design was carried out, including user interface development, attendance feature configuration, and integration with a database for attendance data management. Third, the application was implemented using Android technology, involving system testing to ensure functionality and reliability. The goal of this research is to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the attendance process for village officials. By utilizing an Android-based application, the system is expected to facilitate real-time attendance tracking, reduce manual errors, and simplify reporting and monitoring. Additionally, the system aims to improve transparency and accountability in attendance administration for village officials.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mathematical critical thinking skills by enhancing their intrinsic motivation to learn. It compares the effects of three instructional models PBL (Problem Based Learning), DL (Discovery Learning), and Direct Instruction (DI) on students’ mathematical critical thinking across four levels of intrinsic motivation: high, medium, low, and overall. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. The sample consisted of 75 seventh-grade students: 25 students each from classes VII A and VII B as experimental groups using PBL and DL models, and 25 students from class VII C as the control group using DI. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA. Results indicate that PBL significantly outperforms DL in improving students’ mathematical critical thinking skills. In turn, DL shows a more pronounced effect compared to DI. Intrinsic motivation plays a crucial role: students with high and medium levels of motivation benefit the most, while those with low motivation show weaker outcomes. A significant interaction effect was found between the type of instructional model and the level of intrinsic motivation, suggesting that the choice of instructional model should consider students' motivational profiles. These findings imply that instructional strategies tailored to students' motivation levels can significantly enhance mathematical critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to prove the effect of good corporate governance as proxied through independent commissioners, institutional ownership, managerial ownership and audit committees on company performance by manufacturing companies listed on the Bursa Efek Indonesia in 2019-2021. The independent variables used are independent board of commissioners as measured by comparing the number of independent commissioners and the total number of commissioners, then institutional ownership as measured by comparing the number of shares owned by the institution and the number of shares outstanding, then managerial ownership as measured by comparing the number of shares managerial ownership and the number of shares outstanding, and the audit committee as measured by the number of audit committees. The dependent variable used is company’s performance as measured using the Return On Assets (ROA) by comparing the amount of net profit after tax and total assets. Test were carried out using SmartPLS. The results obtained from this study are the independent commissioners and the aduit committee have a significant effect on company performance, while institusinal ownership and managerial ownership have no significant effect on company performance.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of profitability, liquidity and leverage ratios on financial distress. The dependent variable in this research is financial distress which is measured using the Springate S-score. The independent variables in this research are profitability, liquidity and leverage. The population in this study consists of state-owned companies listed on the IDX. Samples were taken for 2019-2023 and collected using the purposive sampling method. The total sample for this research is 9 companies. The test was carried out using logistic regression using SPSS 27 software. The results of the analysis showed that the profitability variable had a negative and significant influence on financial distress. The liquidity and leverage variables have a positive and significant influence on financial distress

Abstract

This study explains the effect of financial ratios on stock prices in pharmaceutical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This study used panel regression analysis, where time series (2016-2022) and cross-section (8 Pharmaceutical companies). Data analysis techniques using Ordinary Least Squares regression (OLS) and selection of the best model through the Chow test and Hausman test with fixed effect model as the best model. Based on the results of the calcic assumption test, the selected model is appropriate and valid for analysis. The results of the analysis show that Return On Assets, Return On Equity, Net Profit Margin, and Debt to Equity Ratio to Stock Price have a positive and significant effect both simultaneously and partially. The variation in the ability of the independent variable in this study affects the stock price variable by 88.15% and the effect is strong. Recommend to the Board of Directors of Pharmaceutical Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange to introduce policies that will have a positive impact on return on equity, earnings per asset, and debt to equity that can significantly affect the stock price.

Abstract

Abstract: Pendidikan hak asasi manusia (HAM) bagi narapidana di Lapas Narkotika Kelas IIA Pamekasan merupakan salah satu upaya rehabilitasi sosial yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran tentang hak-hak dasar dan kewajiban mereka sebagai warga negara. Program ini dirancang untuk memberi pemahaman yang lebih dalam kepada narapidana tentang hak asasi mereka, baik selama menjalani hukuman di lapas maupun setelah reintegrasi ke masyarakat. Program edukasi ini melibatkan penyampaian materi mengenai hak-hak dasar, kewajiban sebagai warga negara, serta perlindungan hukum yang seharusnya mereka terima, dengan pendekatan yang partisipatif dan interaktif. Pelaksanaan program dilaksanakan pada November hingga Desember 2024, dengan melibatkan 60 narapidana sebagai peserta. Metode yang digunakan mencakup seminar, diskusi kelompok, dan studi kasus, yang dirancang agar peserta dapat aktif berpartisipasi dan mengaitkan materi dengan pengalaman mereka sendiri. Evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam kesadaran narapidana mengenai hak asasi mereka, serta perubahan sikap dan pandangan mereka terhadap kewajiban yang harus mereka jalani. Program ini juga menunjukkan pentingnya peran fasilitator dan keterlibatan masyarakat luar dalam mendukung keberhasilan pendidikan HAM di lapas. Meskipun demikian, beberapa tantangan seperti keterbatasan logistik dan waktu dihadapi selama pelaksanaan. Program ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap proses rehabilitasi sosial narapidana, dan memperkuat pendekatan humanistik dalam pembinaan di lembaga pemasyarakatan. Dampaknya terlihat dari peningkatan partisipasi aktif narapidana dalam kegiatan pembinaan, terciptanya iklim interaksi yang lebih positif antara warga binaan dan petugas lapas, serta tumbuhnya kesadaran kolektif akan pentingnya penghormatan terhadap martabat manusia.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPerilaku tidak etis dalam pelaporan keuangan masih menjadi isu penting dalam profesi akuntan, terutama di sektor publik dimana akuntan mungkin menghadapi konflik etika internal dan tekanan eksternal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh kecerdasan spiritual dan kewenangan atasan untuk melakukan kecurangan terhadap perilaku tidak etis akuntan dalam pelaporan keuangan. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei, data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada pegawai Badan Pendapatan, Pengelolaan Keuangan, dan Aset Daerah (BPPKAD) Kabupaten Gresik. Sebanyak 48 responden dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik Chi-Square dan Post Hoc Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecurangan pelaporan keuangan cenderung lebih banyak terjadi ketika akuntan memiliki tingkat kecerdasan spiritual yang rendah. Selain itu, adanya kewenangan atasan untuk melakukan kecurangan berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan perilaku tidak etis. Insiden kecurangan tertinggi terjadi ketika kecerdasan spiritual yang rendah dikombinasikan dengan tekanan atasan yang kuat, sedangkan yang terendah terjadi ketika kecerdasan spiritual tinggi dan tidak ada tekanan otoritas. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan spiritual dan tekanan otoritas secara signifikan mempengaruhi keputusan etis akuntan. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada literatur yang berkembang tentang etika bisnis dan perilaku akuntansi dengan menawarkan wawasan praktis tentang bagaimana kapasitas moral internal dan dinamika organisasi eksternal membentuk perilaku etis dalam pelaporan keuangan. ABSTRACTUnethical behavior in financial reporting remains a critical issue in the accounting profession, particularly in the public sector where accountants may face both internal ethical conflicts and external pressures. This study aims to examine the influence of spiritual intelligence and superior authority to commit fraud on accountants' unethical behavior in financial reporting. Using a quantitative approach with a survey method, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to employees of the Regional Revenue, Financial Management, and Asset Agency (BPPKAD) in Gresik Regency. A total of 48 respondents were selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square and Post Hoc Test techniques. The results show that financial reporting fraud tends to be more prevalent when accountants possess low levels of spiritual intelligence. Furthermore, the existence of superior authority to commit fraud contributes to an increase in unethical behavior. The highest incidence of fraud occurs when low spiritual intelligence is combined with strong superior pressure, while the lowest occurs when spiritual intelligence is high and no such authority pressure is present. These findings demonstrate that both spiritual intelligence and authority pressure significantly affect accountants' ethical decisions. The study contributes to the growing literature on business ethics and accounting behavior by offering practical insights into how internal moral capacity and external organizational dynamics shape ethical conduct in financial reporting
