Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing the stability of three types of retaining walls cantilever, gravity, and sheet pile to address landslide risks along the Enim River in Tanjung Karangan Village, Muara Enim Regency. The village is prone to landslides due to high riverbanks and unstable soil conditions exacerbated by erosion and settlement encroachment. To mitigate these risks, retaining walls are crucial in maintaining slope stability and preventing further erosion. The study utilized Windows Forms methods to perform numerical simulations and evaluate key factors such as the safety factor, sliding resistance, overturning resistance, bearing capacity, and material strength of the designed walls. The cantilever retaining wall design proved effective, achieving safety factors for overturning (1.80), sliding (1.51), and bearing capacity (1.31), making it suitable for implementation at the study location. However, the gravity retaining wall, despite meeting safety requirements for overturning (1.72) and bearing capacity (1.35), failed in sliding, with a safety factor of 1.49, indicating it is not appropriate for this case due to insufficient sliding resistance. The analysis of the sheet pile retaining wall focused on embedment depth and material quality. A steel sheet pile with a length of 9 meters, an embedment depth of 4.82 meters, and material properties of Fy = 450 MPa and E = 2.1 x 105 MPa was determined to be a feasible solution. The findings conclude that both cantilever and sheet pile retaining walls can effectively mitigate slope instability and riverbank erosion, while the gravity retaining wall is not suitable for the given conditions. These results provide valuable insights for future infrastructure development in landslide-prone areas.

Abstract

This study intends to analyze and parse the management of student emotions in learning through digital sources during the Covid-19 pandemic. The family environment plays an active role in providing understanding and monitoring and paying attention to emotional states in learning. This research was conducted by analyzing literature from journals and effective data related to emotional management in online learning where the findings and new theories were described qualitatively. The results of these findings illustrate the need for the role of the tridarma of education, namely educators, students and families in managing emotions and the necessary facilities and infrastructure for students in online learning are more effective so that the education and learning process is carried out properly.

Abstract

The poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) research has been excecuted. Methyl methacrylate is polymerized by the free radical inisiation with the suspension condition using benzoyl peroxyde inisiator, water as a solution and the gelatine stabilizer, in this reseaarch is executed as a standard ratio (part per part:monomer : water : stabilizer = 100 : 350 : (0.1 1) with the inisiator to monomer ratio variation (part per part) are: 0.1 per 50; 0,175 per 50; 0,25 per 50; 0,25 per 50, the temperature variation are : 30 degree C, 45 degree C, 60 degree C and the time polymerization until 320 minutes. The result showed that the optimum monomer polymerizeation was at the inisiator to monomer ratio 0,25 per 50, the temperature at 45 degree C and at the time polymerization until 300 minutes with the monomer conversion was 86 percent. The Infra Red Spectroscopy analyses showed that there are poly methyl methacrylate in the product. The Gas Liquid Chromatography analysis showed the evolution of the monomer (methil methacrylate concetration.

Abstract

Abstract

The family plays an important role in controlling hypertension through appropriate healthy food choices, including the consumption of fruits and vegetables; hypertension is a serious health problem, often referred to as a silent killer, with a prevalence that continues to increase, yet initial observations indicate that many families still do not fully understand the types of foods that contribute to blood pressure control. This study aims to describe the level of family knowledge regarding foods that can help control hypertension in Neighborhood IV, Selawan Subdistrict, East Kisaran District, Asahan Regency. The study employed a quantitative descriptive method with a survey approach involving families who have members with hypertension, using a research instrument consisting of twelve questions that had undergone validity and reliability testing, while the data were analyzed univariately using frequency distribution. The results showed that the level of family knowledge was in the moderate category, with most respondents able to recognize commonly recommended foods that help lower blood pressure, although understanding of more specific aspects varied. These findings emphasize the need for more targeted health education so that families can implement appropriate dietary patterns to support hypertension control, and the study recommends increasing educational activities focused on improving understanding of healthy foods and strengthening the family’s role in supporting healthy lifestyle behaviors to prevent increases in blood pressure.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to build students' awareness of the psychological impact of bullying through a school literacy approach at MI Nurul Jadid Bondowoso. The main problem is the low level of student understanding regarding the forms and impacts of bullying, which are often considered normal. The program was carried out by seven students through three meetings on September 20, October 4, and October 19, 2025, using a participatory literacy approach involving discussions, video analysis, mini-dramas, and reflections. Evaluation results showed a 91% increase in student understanding based on a comparison of pre-test and post-test results. The activity concluded with the distribution of snacks and an educational trip to the lake behind the school as a means of applying the values of empathy and togetherness. Teachers responded positively as the activity helped students understand the dangers of bullying and fostered an attitude of mutual respect. The program succeeded in changing student behavior to become more caring and is expected to create a school environment free from bullying.

Abstract

This quantitative study was conducted with the main focus on examining the extent to which behavioral and cognitive variables—including Financial Literacy (X1), Herding (X2), Risk Perception (X3), and Illusion of Control (X4)—affect Investment Decisions (Y) of clients at PT Pegadaian Syariah Soebrantas Branch. The method used involved collecting primary data from 129 respondents. Sampling was carried out through purposive sampling, where respondents were selected based on criteria established by the researchers. The data collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire were then processed and analyzed using the Multiple Linear Regression method with the help of SPSS 21 statistical software. The variables of financial literacy, herding, risk perception, and illusion of control dominated the influence on investment decisions, contributing a total of 32%, while the remaining effect was influenced by other variables that were not tested. Keywords: Financial Literacy, Herding, Risk Perception, and Illusion of Control, Investment Decisions
