Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the existence of library literacy in Indonesia in the millennial era and investigate strategies to improve the quality of education in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially those related to quality education and equal access to information. Library literacy plays an important role in improving individuals' ability to access, process, and utilize information effectively. Theoretical Framework: the one used in this study refers to the concept of information literacy and the role of libraries in education, as well as a sustainable development theory that links quality education to the achievement of the SDGs. Literature Review: The existing literature shows that despite efforts to improve access to information and education in Indonesia, the library literacy gap between regions is still a major challenge. Several studies highlight the lack of adequate library infrastructure, lack of training for library managers, and limited access to technology for people in remote areas. Methods: This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach in several libraries located in large cities and remote areas. Data was collected through interviews with library managers, teachers, and students, as well as analysis of documents related to library literacy policies in Indonesia. Results: The results of the study show that library literacy in Indonesia in the millennial era faces several obstacles, including the lack of technological facilities in regional libraries, the low quality of human resource management in the library sector, and the unequal access to information in rural areas. However, there are also several positive initiatives carried out by the library community, such as digital literacy training for students and the introduction of mobile libraries. Implications: The implication of this study is the importance of strengthening policies that support the development of library infrastructure and the improvement of digital literacy skills, as part of a strategy to achieve the SDGs, especially in terms of inclusive and quality education. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in integrating library literacy with the goal of sustainable development in the context of Indonesian education.

Abstract

Objective: Marketing strategies play a crucial role in influencing consumer behavior, and one of the commonly employed techniques is the use of marketing gimmicks. This study aims to analyze the impact of marketing gimmicks on consumer buying interest while examining the values of honesty and consistency in their application from the perspective of Sharia business principles. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework of this research is based on Islamic business ethics, particularly the principles of honesty (shidq) and consistency (istiqamah) in trade. Literature review: The literature review explores various studies on marketing strategies, consumer behavior, and ethical considerations in business, particularly within the framework of Islamic economics. Methods: This study employs a qualitative field research method. Data collection was conducted through direct interviews with fruit traders and their customers to obtain firsthand insights into marketing gimmicks used in the marketplace. The analysis utilizes an interpretative approach to understand the alignment of these gimmicks with Islamic business ethics. Results: The findings indicate that many fruit traders implement marketing gimmicks that can sometimes mislead consumers, particularly in price determination and product presentation. While these gimmicks effectively attract consumer interest, they often lack transparency, leading to misunderstandings about the actual value of the products. The study highlights that such practices contradict the fundamental Sharia business principles of honesty and consistency, which emphasize truthful representation and ethical sales practices. Implications: The implications of this research suggest the need for increased awareness and education among traders regarding ethical marketing strategies that align with Islamic values. Policymakers and business associations could also play a role in promoting fair trade practices that uphold integrity in business transactions. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its integration of Islamic business ethics with modern marketing strategies.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the thoughts of Jasser Auda regarding Maqashid Sharia (the objectives of Islamic law) and their implications for the development of Sharia Economic Law in Indonesia. Theoretical framework: As the discourse of Ushul al-Fiqh (Islamic legal theory) continues to undergo contextual reform, the relevance of Maqashid Sharia as a fundamental framework for implementing Islamic law becomes increasingly significant. Jasser Auda offers a paradigm shift by introducing a systems-based approach that reconceptualizes the five classical dimensions of Maqashid into a dynamic and holistic framework. His approach moves away from rigid textualism and towards the realization of values and outcomes that reflect the spirit of Sharia in contemporary contexts. Literature review: The literature review highlights how Auda's model diverges from classical methodologies by focusing on interconnectedness, purposefulness, and context sensitivity. Methods: The research is grounded in a qualitative descriptive methodology. Data were collected from relevant literature, policy documents, and scholarly interpretations of Auda's work. The theoretical framework centers on systems theory, epistemological transformation, and the functional role of Maqashid in legal reform. Results: The findings demonstrate that Jasser Auda’s theory of Maqashid Sharia is highly applicable in revitalizing the role of Islamic law in the contemporary economic domain. In the case of Indonesia, where Sharia economic law is rapidly evolving, Auda’s framework provides an adaptive and value-driven model that supports legal dynamism without compromising foundational principles. Implications: His model also offers practical implications for policy-making, Islamic finance regulation, and economic justice. Novelty: The study contributes novelty by bridging classical Islamic legal philosophy with contemporary legal needs through the lens of systems thinking. This synthesis enhances the responsiveness of Sharia Economic Law to modern challenges and aligns legal goals with the ethical aspirations of Islam.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine the concept of relationship and economic responsibility of parents to children from the perspective of Sharia economic law as a foundation in building economic resilience for future generations in line with the SDGs. Theoretical framework: In order to understand the mechanism of intergenerational financial resources in accordance with the principles of Islamic economic law, the theoretical framework integrates sharia concepts, specifically the principles of Hifz al-Malh (preserving property) and Hifz al-Nasl (protecting offspring). Literature Review: The literature review examines how Muslim parents can help children develop a positive economic mindset through tarbiyah māliyah, or Islamic financial education. The study also highlights the low level of knowledge about Sharia contracts among Indonesian Muslim families and the need for orphan protection. The report also emphasizes the importance of accountability and transparency in the management of orphan assets in social institutions such as orphanages. Methodology: This study applies normative legal research methods, with a conceptual and legislative approach, by examining the Qur'an, Hadith, juristic views, and various literature on Sharia economic law. The analysis was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner to examine the relationship between economic responsibility in the family and sustainable economic resilience based on the perspective of the SDGs. Results: According to the study's findings, families who incorporated Islamic financial education into their Sharia parenting practices had financial resilience up to 23% greater than non-Sharia households. However, implementing the best Sharia economic practices remains difficult, as the basis of Sharia contracts is not well established in about 65% of cases. Transparency and remote experience issues in orphan asset management. Implications: In addition to proposing policies to improve Islamic financial literacy and to strengthen monitoring systems for the competent and fair management of orphan assets, the study emphasizes the importance of incorporating Islamic financial education into childcare to improve families' long-term economic resilience. Newness: The novelty of this study lies in its emphasis on the practice of sharia economic education, applied by parents to children in the family environment, as an effort to prepare children for future financial sustainability, with an analysis from the perspective of sharia economic law.

Abstract

Objective: Examining the conflict between traditional interpretations and modern readings, this study explores how Islamic doctrines and prophetic traditions influence Southeast Asian Muslim communities' conceptions of equality. The goal is to examine how social, economic, and gender equality are framed in pluralistic cultural contexts using Hadith and Qur'anic teaching. Theoretical framework: The study is grounded in Islamic jurisprudence, ethics, and social theory, exploring how classical sources interact with modern interpretations to inform notions of justice, human dignity, and communal harmony. The framework situates these interpretations within ongoing debates about tradition, reform, and socio-religious adaptation in Southeast Asia. Literature review: While modern scholarship increasingly focuses on gender justice, economic justice, and interreligious tolerance, earlier research emphasizes the emphasis of ancient Islamic scriptures on spiritual and community equality.  This study fills a gap in the literature by combining field observations and textual analysis in a Southeast Asian environment. Method: This study employs a qualitative, field-based methodology that combines interviews with Islamic scholars, educators, and community leaders with observations made in madrasahs, pesantrens, and places of worship. Results: The results show that Muslims in Southeast Asia are actively discussing what equality means, striking a balance between modern social realities and devotion to traditional prophetic traditions.  While traditional readings continue to influence cultural and spiritual standards, contemporary reinterpretations highlight gender justice, economic parity, and interreligious tolerance as key topics. Implications: In order to promote more inclusive and egalitarian Muslim societies, the study emphasizes the possibilities of fusing classic Islamic sources with contemporary social imperatives. The findings of this study can help religious leaders, educators, and legislators advance social justice and human dignity. Novelty: The comparative, field-based methodology of the study, which combines Hadith analysis, Islamic theory, and empirical observations in Southeast Asia, is innovative. It offers a practical framework for comprehending equality in modern Muslim situations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the practice of cash swipe transactions conducted through various platforms and applications from the perspective of Islamic economic law and their alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The research adopts a quantitative approach and relies on literature review as the primary method. Data sources include books, journals, and other relevant references that address the core issue. The findings indicate that cash swipe transactions represent a functional misuse of credit cards, originally intended as a means of payment for goods and services. In these transactions, individuals feign purchasing goods but instead withdraw cash, facilitated by stores offering such services. This practice constitutes a violation of ethical principles in Islamic business. From the perspective of Islamic economic law, cash swipe transactions are deemed haram (prohibited) because they involve dishonesty, fraud, and the element of riba (usury). Furthermore, such transactions foster unethical business practices aimed solely at maximizing profit through illicit means. These violations disrupt the integrity of economic transactions and contravene Islamic ethical guidelines, which prioritize fairness, transparency, and mutual benefit. In the context of the SDGs, cash swipe transactions undermine several goals, particularly Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). By promoting fraudulent activities and unethical practices, these transactions contribute to economic instability and erode trust in financial systems. Conversely, adherence to Islamic economic principles aligns with the SDGs by fostering ethical financial practices that promote sustainable economic growth, social justice, and institutional integrity. This study highlights the necessity of stricter regulations and public awareness to mitigate the risks associated with cash swipe transactions. Encouraging compliance with Islamic economic law not only preserves ethical standards but also supports global efforts toward achieving the SDGs.
