Abstract

Values education is a process of guidance through role models. Education that is oriented towards instilling life values which include religious, cultural, ethical and aesthetic values towards the formation of students who have religious spiritual intelligence, self-control, complete personality, morals. noble, as well as the skills needed by himself, society and the country. The content of educational values is all vague and too western-flavored. Recently there has been talk about the Islamicization of science. In this sense it can be said that the Islamization of science is an alternative-strategic solution. This effort is encouraging if technical and non-technical factors contribute to fertilizing the climate. However, if it is only euphoric, it would be very regrettable. Instead of looking for a strategic alternative solution, in fact it could be a strategic alternative solution for certain groups who only seek to profit from public opinion, which has great potential because the majority of the population is Muslim. In evaluating the value education integration process, you can use the 5P assessment technique (paper and pencils, portfolio, project, product, and performance). This 5P assessment is directed at the context of value education in the family, school and society.

Abstract

Religious moderation is important for the next generation to advance the nation in the future, the cultivation of moderate Islamic values needs to be pursued as an effort to prevent exposure to radicalism. A concrete step in providing the values of religious moderation to the younger generation is through religious education. Islamic Religious Education is in a vortex of diversity, plurality with an educational paradigm that is multicultural, multidimensional and does not exist in a vacuum, so this suggests that individual educational stakeholders, educational actors, objects, and beneficiaries of educational results must be able to learn together with other individuals in an atmosphere mutual respect, mutual tolerance and mutual understanding, as part of self-development or transformation, educational institutions, strategies, models or even learning process techniques. In the life of a multicultural society, there is bound to be plurality which, if not addressed wisely, will create the threat of conflict, whether from religious, cultural or ethnic aspects. With that, there needs to be awareness and understanding of religious moderation in order to create social peace and security that is maintained and understood contextually in various aspects of diversity.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of principal leadership and organizational culture on teacher performance in public high schools in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, where Islamic values are embedded within educational governance and daily school practices. Employing a qualitative multiple-case study design, data were collected from sixteen public high schools through semi-structured interviews with principals and teachers, direct observations, and document analysis. To enhance the validity and trustworthiness of the findings, methodological and source triangulation were applied by systematically comparing evidence across data sources and participant groups. The findings reveal that principal leadership significantly influences teacher performance, particularly when leadership practices are participative, instructional, and grounded in Islamic ethical principles such as musyawarah (consultative decision-making), amanah (trust), and collective responsibility. Organizational culture was found to mediate this relationship by fostering collaboration, professional commitment, and instructional innovation. Schools characterized by a strong collaborative culture and consistent integration of Islamic values demonstrated higher teacher motivation, discipline, and engagement than schools with more hierarchical organizational structures. This study contributes to contemporary educational leadership literature by providing empirical evidence from a Sharia-based public education context, demonstrating that Islamic values can function as ethical and motivational resources that strengthen leadership effectiveness and organizational culture. The findings offer practical implications for educational leaders and policymakers in Aceh by highlighting the importance of integrating faith-based values with participative leadership practices to enhance teacher performance and school effectiveness.

Abstract

The development of Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools (SDIT) in Banda Aceh reflects the diverse dynamics of efforts to integrate national education, Islamic values, and local wisdom in Aceh. However, studies specifically examining the process of strengthening local wisdom through extracurricular activities in integrated Islamic education remain limited. This study aims to deeply examine the transformation of strengthening Acehnese local wisdom through extracurricular activities and reveal the characteristics and advantages of implementing integrated Islamic education in SDITs in Banda Aceh. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method at three Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools (SDIT); SD Islam Al-Azhar Cairo Banda Aceh, SDIT Nurul Ishlah Banda Aceh, and SDIT Quantum School Aceh. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, and were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model with triangulation techniques to ensure validity. The results of the study demonstrate that extracurricular activities play a pivotal role in reinforcing and enhancing the values of Aceh's Islamic-based local wisdom. These values include Islamic manners, discipline, unity, responsibility, social awareness, and a love for Aceh's Islamic culture. This transformation occurs contextually through habituation, educators' examples, and direct learning experiences. Additionally, integrated Islamic education in Banda Aceh has developed adaptively and is not homogeneous. Each SDIT has different characteristics and strengths, ranging from integrating technology and memorizing the Qur'an to adopting the multiple intelligences approach. These findings confirm that strengthening local wisdom through extracurricular activities is an effective, sustainable strategy for shaping students' religious and cultural identities. This strategy can be adapted and applied in different contexts without losing the fundamental values of Islam and local wisdom. This makes it relevant for addressing the challenges of basic education in the modern era.

Abstract

The rapid digitalization of Islamic education has accelerated the adoption of blended learning, yet its predominantly technical implementation often neglects the ethical and developmental well-being of young learners. Unregulated screen exposure and algorithm-driven content frequently induce cognitive overload, moral disorientation, and diminished social interaction in primary educational settings. Addressing this gap, this study employs qualitative library research grounded in thematic tafsir (tafsir maudhu’i) to systematically extract Qur’anic principles that inform a balanced pedagogical architecture. By analyzing classical and contemporary exegetical sources alongside empirical studies published between 2020 and 2026, the research operationalizes the Islamic concepts of wasathiyyah (moderation) and maqashid al-shariah as evaluative filters for digital instruction. The findings reveal that Qur’anic discourse establishes clear operational parameters for proportional screen-time allocation, ethically curated content delivery, multidimensional assessment, and structured home-school collaboration. These parameters are synthesized into a scalable wasathiyyah-based blended learning model that dynamically aligns technological integration with the preservation of children’s intellect, psychological health, and religious identity. The proposed framework provides educators and curriculum designers with a theologically coherent, contextually adaptive blueprint for hybrid instruction. Ultimately, this research demonstrates that classical Islamic exegesis can effectively guide contemporary educational technology, ensuring that digital transformation serves holistic child development rather than compromising foundational moral and cognitive growth.

Through the Quran, students have the opportunity to develop better self- awareness, emotional adjustment, motivation, empathy, and social skills. The method of research used is literature by searching for literature sources related to the context of research. The findings of the research show that the quran Hafalan performed by students can also bring other benefits such as moral and spiritual improvement, as well as a deep understanding of the teachings of Islam. However, it is important to consider that the development of emotional intelligence involves a variety of factors, including the environment, education, and personal experience.

Abstract

The phenomenon of "Marriage is Scary" among Indonesian Muslim youth reflects the level of anxiety about the institution of marriage, despite its foundational status in Islamic theology as a sacred covenant (mithaq ghaliz) and act of worship. This study explores the theological underpinnings of these fears and examines how young Muslims reconcile divine principles with contemporary life challenges. Using a qualitative method, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 unmarried participants who reported anxiety or reluctance toward marriage. Thematic analysis revealed four primary factors: negative familial experiences, economic insecurity, fear of personal constraint, and exposure to negative narratives via social media. While participants acknowledged theological teachings—such as reliance on Allah (Q.S. At-Talaq: 2–3) and marriage as a Sunnah—many found these ideals difficult to apply in practice due to structural and emotional barriers. Rather than positioning Islamic theology as a prescriptive solution, the study highlights its potential as a reflective framework through which youth navigate moral ambivalence, spiritual doubt, and social transitions. The findings call for a renewed engagement with Islamic theology that addresses relational fears not only through doctrinal affirmation but through lived, contextual interpretation. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how Islamic theological discourse interacts with personal and societal anxieties, offering a more grounded approach to addressing fears of marriage among Muslim youth in Indonesia.

Abstract

School bullying in Indonesia represents a severe public health crisis, with prevalence rates exceeding 41% and ranking fifth globally. Despite robust regulatory frameworks, a critical research gap persists: existing anti-bullying policies remain predominantly procedural, lacking systematic integration of Islamic ethical-religious principles essential for psychological protection and moral development. This study addresses this gap by examining the alignment of Indonesia's anti-bullying regulations with Islamic legal principles on children's rights. Introducing methodological novelty, the research operationalizes Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah objectives—specifically ḥifẓ al-nafs (preservation of psychological well-being) and ḥifẓ al-ʿaql (protection of cognitive development)—as explicit evaluative criteria for national policy analysis, bridging trauma-informed psychology with classical Islamic jurisprudence for the first time in this domain. Employing a normative-juridical approach integrated with socio-legal analysis, the study evaluates Islamic sources, statutory instruments, and institutional reports from 2020–2026. Findings reveal normative convergence between national policies and Islamic principles regarding child protection, yet significant implementation gaps persist due to administrative orientations neglecting moral-spiritual dimensions. Bullying inflicts severe psychological harm, with 66% of victims exhibiting PTSD-compatible symptoms, which current policies inadequately address. The study proposes a Humanistic-Islamic Anti-Bullying Policy Integration framework comprising six interconnected pillars. Theoretically, this research advances Islamic legal discourse by expanding Maqāṣid theory beyond traditional juridical domains into contemporary educational policy design, demonstrating its capacity to operationalize psychological protection within a holistic, values-based paradigm. This model offers policymakers a culturally resonant, ethically grounded approach to bullying prevention in Muslim-majority contexts.
