Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of social media on student consumer behavior in purchasing MSME products. Using a quantitative survey-based method, data were collected through an online questionnaire involving 30 Economic Education students as respondents. The results of the analysis show that social media significantly influences student consumer behavior, contributing 35.2% to the variability of their consumption behavior. Social media, such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, are used by MSME actors to market products through visual content, reviews, and endorsements that attract students' attention. This study recommends increasing digital and financial literacy for students, as well as more educational marketing strategies from MSME actors.

Abstract

This study analyzes the financial performance of the Jayawijaya Regency Government from 2013 to 2023 using key financial ratios: autonomy, effectiveness, growth, and efficiency. The research employs a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative analysis of budget realization data with qualitative insights from key informants. The results show that while the effectiveness of locally generated revenue (PAD) was high—averaging 166.38%—the autonomy ratio remained critically low at 6.44%, reflecting substantial dependence on central transfers. Growth in revenue and expenditure was also suboptimal, falling below 30%, while efficiency ratios hovered around 99%, indicating limited fiscal flexibility. Strategic responses identified include digital tax reform, diversification of PAD sources, and creation of local enterprises. Despite promising policy directions, structural limitations such as geographic isolation and administrative capacity remain major obstacles. The study concludes that sustainable fiscal management in special autonomy regions requires not only technical effectiveness but also systemic reforms in institutional governance and local economic empowerment. The findings offer a valuable reference for policymakers seeking to enhance regional financial resilience in Indonesia's decentralized governance framework.

Abstract

Pricing is a crucial aspect of microeconomics that has broad implications for marketing strategies and consumer behavior, particularly in a perfectly competitive market structure. This study aims to analyze the influence of microeconomic-based pricing principles on marketing strategies and consumer behavior in a market characterized by multiple sellers, homogeneous products, and transparent pricing information. The research method used is a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The sample in this study consisted of 150 respondents, consisting of business actors and consumers in homogeneous goods sectors, such as food commodities and basic necessities. The analysis results show that pricing has a significant effect on marketing strategies and consumer behavior, both partially and simultaneously. Marketing strategy also acts as a mediating variable that strengthens the relationship between price and consumer behavior. The coefficient of determination value of 53.4% indicates that the independent variables in this study are able to explain more than half of the variation in consumer behavior. This finding emphasizes the importance of price as an economic signal in a perfectly competitive market and the need for integration between price efficiency and marketing strategy to maintain a competitive position. This study provides a practical contribution to business actors in formulating pricing policies that are responsive to market dynamics and oriented towards consumer preferences.

Abstract

This study evaluates the economic welfare of respondents in the Medan Tembung region with a focus on poverty levels and their implications for the economic conditions. The research analyzes factors such as the number of dependents, monthly income, access to basic services, and market conditions to understand their impact. The findings indicate that the number of dependents and monthly income significantly affect respondents' financial stability, with those having higher dependents and lower income experiencing greater economic pressure. The balance between income and expenditure is also a concern, with many respondents facing financial deficits. Access to basic services such as health insurance (BPJS) and education plays a crucial role in maintaining financial stability, although some respondents still lack full access to these services. Market instability, especially rising prices of essential goods, directly impacts respondents' economic conditions. Protecting price stability is key to safeguarding community welfare. Appropriate policy measures are needed to enhance economic welfare in Medan Tembung, including the development of financial education programs and price stabilization policies. This research provides a deep understanding of the economic challenges faced by respondents in this area and highlights the need for effective policy interventions to improve welfare and reduce economic disparities.

This study aims to analyze the effect of unemployment and population on poverty levels in North Sumatra Province from 2001 to 2020. The data used in this study are sourced from the Central Sumatra Statistics Agency and multiple linear regression analysis is used to analyze the relationship between independent variables (unemployment and population) with dependent variables (poverty level). The results showed that the unemployment variable had a positive and insignificant effect on the level of poverty, meaning that the higher the unemployment rate, the higher the poverty rate. While the variable population has a negative and significant effect on poverty, meaning that the more population, the lower the poverty rate. Keywords: Unemployment, Population, Poverty.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of poverty, unemployment and investment on economic growth. Where this study uses time series data with the time period 2001-2020. The analytical method uses multiple linear regression with the Eviews program. The poor population variable has a negative and significant effect on poverty with a t-value of -3.225849 and Prob. of 0.0053 <0.05. Unemployment variable has a negative and insignificant effect on poverty with a t-value of -0.427385 and Prob. 0.6748 > 0.05. The investment variable has a positive and significant effect on poverty with a t-value of 7.932790 and Prob. of 0.0000 <0.05. In the final stage of the statistical test, it is known that the R2 squared value is 0.954978. This shows that the poor, unemployment, and investment are able to explain GRDP by 95%. And the remaining 5% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

This article analyzes the leading sectors of Binjai City using the Location Quotient (LQ) method based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) data from 2019 to 2023. Secondary data was collected from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) using a quantitative approach. The results of the analysis show that sectors with an LQ value above 1 have the potential to become the basis of the economy, especially the Mining and Quarrying sector which will reach an LQ of 2.45 in 2023. A focus on development on leading sectors such as Mining, Education Services and Accommodation Provision is needed to encourage sustainable economic growth . The analysis also indicates a positive contribution from specialized sectors with a stable National Growth Component (KPN) value of 0.31, where the agriculture, forestry, fisheries and wholesale and retail trade sectors show significant growth.
