Abstract

The development of a village is one of the important and a concern in every village. With the aim of a village that has competitiveness, the village apparatus and pamong need to pay attention to increasing the economic potential of the village as a local resource. This study aims to find out how the economic and development potential in the village of Huta Baru Sil, Dolok District, North Padang Lawas Regency. The analytical method used in this study is descriptive qualitative analysis through data collection using interview techniques. Descriptive method is a research method by collecting data that is in accordance with the actual data then compiled, processed and analyzed to be able to provide an overview of the problems that exist in the area. Descriptive analysis is a method that is carried out by explaining or describing the actual situation about how the village's potential is developed. In addition, this analysis was carried out by describing secondary data regarding the area of land and permaculture agricultural products that can be produced. The research instrument in qualitative research is the researcher himself who acts as a human instrument that performs the function of setting the research focus, collecting data, interpreting data, interpreting and making conclusions. The informant for this study was Mr. H. Ahmad Saihu Siregar, who was always the owner of permaculture agricultural land. The results of this research are the efforts of landowners and the community in developing village potential through permaculture farming with collaboration between landowners and the local community with the aim of increasing the economy of the Huta Baru Sil village community and providing an example to the people around the village so that they don't only farm oil palm and rubber but can also do permaculture farming with makeshift land to boost the economy. From the results of the permaculture harvest that was carried out starting from 2021-2022 it was very good and the results continued to increase and really helped the income of people who own the land. Based on the data analysis and discussion that has been put forward, it can be concluded that Huta Baru Village has enormous potential in the agricultural sector. The results of identifying the internal and external environmental conditions of the agricultural sector in Huta Baru sil village can be formulated several alternative strategies in developing the agricultural sector in Huta Baru sil, namely as follows: SO strategy (strengths-opportunities) to optimally utilize all existing potentials. The ST strategy (strengths -threats) optimizes farm management. WO strategy (weaknesses - opportunities) sustainable development for farmers. WT strategy (weaknesses-threats) to improve production facilities and trading system..

Abstract

This research focuses on the implementation of business practice assignments in entrepreneurship courses in fostering student interest in becoming entrepreneurs, the purpose of this research is to find out whether entrepreneurship courses, especially in business practices, can provide motivation and interest in entrepreneurship in febi uinsu students. This research is a qualitative research descriptive. Source of data consists of primary and secondary data. Primary data comes from interviews and observations on students. The results of the study stated that 8 out of 10 students could be motivated and foster student interest in becoming interpreneurs, besides that the faculty's strategy was successful in providing these courses because it was also the hope of graduates from the faculty to become entrepreneurs with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Abstract

Abstract: Halal certification is a strategic public policy instrument for strengthening the national Islamic economic ecosystem. Following the enactment of Law Number 33 of 2014 on Halal Product Assurance, the Indonesian government has intensified the mandatory implementation of halal certification, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Nevertheless, policy implementation at the regional level continues to face various structural, administrative, and socio-cultural challenges. This study aims to analyze the implementation of halal certification regulation for MSMEs in North Sumatra Province using a descriptive qualitative approach. The analytical framework integrates Edwards III’s policy implementation theory with the maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah perspective and Islamic economic values as articulated by Chapra and Asutay. Research data were collected through document analysis, secondary data from the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH), and exploratory interviews with three key informants, namely a regional BPJPH official, a halal facilitator (LP3H), and an MSME actor. The findings indicate that the implementation of halal certification in North Sumatra has improved significantly following the Halal Certification Facilitation Program (SEHATI). However, major constraints remain, including limited human resources, low digital literacy among MSMEs, and weak inter-institutional coordination. This study contributes theoretically by proposing an integrative maqāṣid-based halal policy implementation model and offers practical insights for strengthening Islamic public policy and halal governance at the regional level. Abstrak: Sertifikasi halal merupakan instrumen kebijakan publik strategis dalam membangun ekosistem ekonomi syariah nasional. Sejak diberlakukannya Undang-Undang Nomor 33 Tahun 2014 tentang Jaminan Produk Halal, pemerintah Indonesia berupaya mendorong kewajiban sertifikasi halal, khususnya bagi sektor usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM). Namun, implementasi kebijakan ini masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan struktural dan kultural di tingkat daerah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis implementasi regulasi sertifikasi halal pada UMKM di Provinsi Sumatera Utara dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Kerangka analisis penelitian ini mengintegrasikan teori implementasi kebijakan Edwards III dengan perspektif maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah serta nilai ekonomi Islam sebagaimana dikembangkan oleh Chapra dan Asutay. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui studi dokumentasi, analisis data sekunder BPJPH, serta wawancara eksploratif dengan tiga informan kunci, yaitu pejabat BPJPH daerah, pendamping halal (LP3H), dan pelaku UMKM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi sertifikasi halal di Sumatera Utara mengalami peningkatan signifikan pasca penerapan program Sertifikasi Halal Gratis (SEHATI), namun masih dihadapkan pada keterbatasan sumber daya, rendahnya literasi digital pelaku UMKM, dan lemahnya koordinasi lintas lembaga. Studi ini berkontribusi secara teoretis melalui pengembangan model konseptual implementasi kebijakan halal berbasis maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah serta memberikan implikasi praktis bagi penguatan kebijakan publik Islam di tingkat daerah. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the challenges, propose solutions, and formulate a development strategy model for sharia-compliant hotels in Riau Province. The study is motivated by the growing demand for sharia-based accommodations among Muslim tourists, alongside various challenges faced by sharia-compliant hotels, including issues related to legality, services, and infrastructure. The research employs the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method using Super Decisions software and involves nine expert informants, comprising academics, regulators, and hotel managers, selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that the challenges in developing sharia-compliant hotels in Riau Province can be classified into two main categories: internal challenges (e.g., management, human resources, and financial capacity), and external challenges (especially the roles of the National Sharia Council (NSC), the Indonesian Ulema Council (IUC), and government regulations). Consensus among respondents highlights those external challenges, particularly those related to the NSC and IUC, are the most critical, with an agreement level of 75%. Proposed solutions are also categorized as internal and external, with the top priority being solutions to external challenges, specifically those related to the NSC and IUC (96%). The development model identifies seven main strategies, with the highest priority being the establishment of a hotel entrepreneurs' forum (87%), followed by socialization and education programs. This research recommends strengthening the regulatory and educational roles of the NSC and IUC, as well as establishing an entrepreneurs' forum as a platform for synergy among stakeholders. The implementation of these two key strategies is expected to foster an integrated and sustainable ecosystem for the development of sharia-compliant hotels in Riau Province.

Abstract

General Background: The rapid evolution of financial technology has introduced digital payment systems as vital tools for business growth. Specific Background: Within the context of Indonesian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), especially in Medan City, these advancements intersect with government policy and religious ethics. Knowledge Gap: However, limited empirical evidence exists on how digital payments, Islamic business principles, and state subsidies collectively influence MSME income. Aims: This study aims to quantitatively examine the effect of digital payment technologies, Islamic business practices, and government subsidies on MSME revenue in Medan. Results: Using a correlational approach and Slovin-based purposive sampling of 100 MSME owners from a population of 70,843, multiple linear regression analysis reveals that all three independent variables significantly and positively affect MSME income. Novelty: The study integrates faith-based economic principles with technological and policy variables, providing a unique multidimensional perspective on MSME growth. Implications: The findings suggest that synergistic support—combining ethical entrepreneurship, digital finance, and government intervention—can enhance income generation for MSMEs, thereby offering valuable policy insights for sustainable economic development. Abstract

General Background: The volatility of foreign exchange rates poses significant risks to financial stability, especially in Islamic banking, where conventional hedging instruments are often non-compliant with Sharia principles. Specific Background: In Indonesia, Islamic banks increasingly engage in international transactions, amplifying exposure to currency fluctuations without sufficient Sharia-compliant risk mitigation tools. Knowledge Gap: Despite various studies on individual hedging instruments, a comprehensive synthesis evaluating the effectiveness and implementation challenges of Islamic hedging in Indonesia has been lacking. Aims: This study aims to systematically review the application of three primary Islamic hedging instruments—wa’d-based forward, cross currency swaps, and natural hedging—in Indonesian Islamic banks, and assess their effectiveness and constraints. Results: The findings reveal that wa’d-based forward is the most frequently utilized instrument, offering Sharia-compliant mitigation of exchange rate risk. However, limited market liquidity, regulatory ambiguity, and low technical capacity hinder optimal implementation. Novelty: This study provides the first consolidated evaluation of Islamic hedging in Indonesia using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, identifying thematic research trends, barriers, and regulatory gaps. Implications: The results suggest the need for policy reform, international collaboration, and product innovation to strengthen Indonesia’s Sharia-compliant financial risk management ecosystem.Highlight : Islamic hedging tools like wa’d-based forward and CCS reduce currency risk while complying with Sharia law. Implementation in Indonesia faces challenges such as low market liquidity and limited regulatory support. Compared to Malaysia, Indonesia needs stronger innovation and collaboration to advance its Islamic hedging practices. Abstract

Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) explained that from 2010-2013 Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia has increased. This explains that interest in entrepreneurship in Indonesia still become a trend that gets attention for the people of Indonesia. The government's concern in the field of entrepreneurship is increasingly directed in various business actors, one of them is the young generation. This is in accordance with the government program in 2017 where the launch of Beginner Entrepreneurship (WP). This explains that the opportunity to start a business at a young age is no longer an obstacle in view of the support from the government that participated in encouraging the new WP in Indonesia. Educational institutions can be a training place for entrepreneurship incubation for students. Encouragement through the role of courses in the institution should be able to walk in harmony. Readiness of students is not uncommon to be a barrier to start a business. This study aims to explain whether there is an influence between the factors of encouragement of educational institutions and entrepreneurship courses to entrepreneurial interests for students. By using SPSS and error rates of 5%, this results that both the educational institution and the role of entrepreneurship courses partially affect student entrepreneurship interests. This study has limitation on the use of sample quantities and independent variables that still tend to be within a small range. Therefore, next researches may consider this as input..

Abstract

Di era globalisasi yang sekarang dapat terbilang semakin maju suatu negara maka akan sangat berpengaruh juga terhadap masyarakatnya yaitu orang-orang dapat terdidik dengan majunya suatu negara tersebut, tetapi banyak pengangguran karena rendahnya lowongan pekerjaan. Masalah ini dapat dilihat dari banyaknya kepentingan didalam dunia pengusaha dalam perekonomian di suatu Negara. Kata motivasi juga sebagai dorongan yang dipengaruhi dari dalam diri seseorang maupun luar diri seseorang agar orang itu mempunyai semangat dalam melakukan segala sesuatu. Apabila seseorang itu berwirausaha maka akan dapat termotivasi dalam mendapatkan beberapa hal yang di mau, misalnya mendapatkan keuntungan disetiap penjualannya atau usahanya, mempunyai kebebasan dalam segala hal yang positif, memiliki sifat mandiri dan mempunyai banyak peluang dalam menentukan nasibnya sendiri dan kewirausahaan juga dapat membantu dalam menyediakan banyak lowongan pekerjaan dan dapat menumbuhkan kesejahteraan. Analisis ini mempunyai tujuan untuk dapat mengetahui apakah motivasi berpengaruh positif terhadap minat berwirausaha Mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Islam UINSU dan faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi motivasi terhadap miat berwirusaha Mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Islam UINSU. Analisis ini menggunakan teknik analisis kualitatif, dengan melakukan beberapa cara yaitu wawancara, dokumentasi dan deskrptif.

Abstract

The poverty and unemployment rate in Indonesia is quite high, the lack of jobs in Indonesia is one of the problems that must be overcome by the government. All kinds of ways have been done to help the community, one way that can be done is to change the mindset of the community from finding a job to an entrepreneur who opens jobs. This method needs to be done slowly and must be given an example. One of them is students, because students are drivers of change in a better direction, through knowledge of ideas, and skills that students have become locomotives of progress. Therefore the importance of this education can change the mindset of students from job seekers to entrepreneurs, this can help the government in solving this problem, therefore this entrepreneurial education is very important in building the characterization of students to become young entrepreneurs.

Abstract

This study means to dissect the execution of business training in tertiary establishments, its connection to the skills of graduates anticipated by the universe of work and other supporting abilities. The open joblessness rate in Indonesia is very high, arriving at 9-10% and incorporates taught jobless school graduated class. To conquer the elevated degree of instructed joblessness, encouraging business venture among students is considered significant. There are five fundamental substances in business venture, to be specific: (1) a solid will to work freely, have brilliant thoughts, and be hopeful in business, foster new, exceptional thoughts, draw in many individuals, particularly in the financial field; (2) the capacity to face challenges and decide; (3) readiness to think and act imaginatively and creatively; (4) eagerness to work cautiously, constantly and gainfully; (5) work with the soul of harmony and sound business morals..
